[Supernatural entities and magic] have always co-existed with humanity. People were vaguely aware of their existence through legends and stories, and some would share their brush with supernaturals. Sure, they were shunned or hunted down as monsters but rarely on a widespread scale. This fragile peace was shattered with the advent of recording devices and the internet. From the beginning of the 21st century, the existence of supernaturals has become a common knowledge. Photographed, recorded and revealed to the world, they were no longer distant, mysterious figures from stories; they were monsters posing as humans hiding in plain sight. Fearmongering and large-scale hunts ensued, led by an extremist group called the [Humanity Conservation Society]. Without any legal protection or right, many “non-humans” had to go into hiding. [Project Safe Haven] is an international organization of supernaturals and sympathetic humans working to create a safe space for supernaturals. They developed a magical barrier, [the Veil], that can conceal and disguise anything supernatural into something so-called “normal”. Using this magic, safe havens were established all around the globe so that supernaturals can simply exist without fearing for their lives. [Sanctuary Hollow] is a safe haven and a community of supernaturals hidden in [Reno, Nevada]. Though it is bustling with supernaturals and magical activities, the Veil protects it from prying eyes and casts the illusion of inconspicuousness.
