I’ve never NEVER seen anyone in such big denial as Belly is in right now. Like EVER!!!
The girl was dancing on her own bachelorette party thinking about Conrad and then crying in the bathroom saying she never knew what her dream wedding would be like except that it was her and Conrad. And then explained to herself that it’s because the stress of the wedding…. Like I don’t know Belly did you think about that maybe…. MAYBE if you were marrying the right person (….whose been making your wedding planning at least bearable the whole summer btw) you wouldn’t be stressed. You would be glowing. And not sobbing at the beach alone. Just saying….

I really don’t care if Yoshiki and “Hikaru” are in love or not, I just want them to be soulmates and have a home in each other

As if there wasn't enough of misinterpretations and disregardings, from many people, of the queerness between Yoshikaru, now this recent "He's not my Hikaru" mistranslation is going to create so many unnecessary misinformation... Why they choose to translate like that, beyond me tbh...

i love the idea of Erik Klose grew up w money in a very nice part of Germany and has no connection to crime or any sort of class struggle.
and Erik Klose who also has never visited the US so from what Nicky tells him he thinks it’s this dystopian country because all he hears about it is god awful. like.
knowing how Nicky gossips, Erik knows Nicky’s cousins story really intimately, so wdym America is the land where a mother chooses to throw a kid away? and she beats the fuck out of the other one? and then the first kid comes back and kills her? and its totally fine with everyone that this barely adult (nicky) becomes their guardian???
and then years later Nicky tells Erik all about the Foxes, and that’s 80% of the people Nicky knows, so he just assumes all americans are either former strippers, addicts or murderers.
and THEN Kevin comes into the picture and Nicky is all like “okay you can’t tell anyone but there’s this team here that’s actually a cult and the son of the leader has this brother of sorts but he is insane and he broke the brother’s hand and now we have him” and poor Erik is just like ???? and then Nicky weeks later is like “oh my god remember the cult i told you about?? they’re japanese mafia” and Erik just needs to put his phone down for a minute and think.
and Nicky keeps casually mentioning shit like “Andrew pulled a knife on me today” and “people trashed every car on the lot and left a dead animal in ours” which doesn’t help at ALL
and Erik is having this inner fight of “i sent my boyfriend back there to study for his degree but it’s a death trap of a country”, still worried for Nicky, when suddenly all the Neil lore hits. next thing Erik knows Nicky is on a team with the son of a mass murderer ALSO connected to the mafia.
and Nicky gives his updates like they’re the most normal thing ever so Erik just thinks this is average stuff happening in America
when Erik comes to visit for the Ravens game he is STRESSED to even breathe around so many Americans, assuming it’s common for most of the population to have ties to the mafia and carry knives w them.
Erik Klose you strong man, i would be STRESSED

While Yoshiki's dad is a very complicated character and does showcase the tragic reality of many queer people forced to live heteronormative lives and in heterosexual marriages, that, unfortunately, doesn't excuse the fact that he is a absentee father and a bad husband... It's not Yoshiki and Kaoru's fault that these were the cards dealt to their father in life...
#when doomed yaoi leeds to bad parenting...#i feel for the kids tbh cause you can tell how especially Yoshiki barely considers his dad anymore...#the summer hikaru died#hikaru ga shinda natsu#yoshiki tsujinaka#kaoru tsujinaka#toshinori tsujinaka

I've always had this feeling that Jeremiah uses his inferiority complex to justify being selfish and to excuse his self indulgent behaviour. He always has this attitude as if Conrad has always gotten preferential treatment from everyone in his life and he has been second choice, when it is his made up reality.
In reality, the only preferential treatment Conrad has gotten was from Adam. In every other social settings Jeremiah has always been ahead. He was the more cheerful one, had more friends, was liked by almost everyone and also had more romantic interests. The only sectors in which Conrad excelled over Jeremiah was not due to preference but due to merit and excellence. Like education and sports.
People may say, "Laurel had her favourite." Having a soft corner for someone and giving them preferential treatment is different. Because Conrad has always been the parentified child and Laurel herself scolded Conrad when everyone else got in trouble. In season one we see multiple instances when Conrad is helping around the house, cleaning but Jeremiah isn't expected to take such responsibility. Don't bring steven or Susanah being team Conrad into this because contrary to popular belief, Steven has a closer friendship with Jere than with Conrad. Steven, like Belly has admired Conrad and loves him for BELLY. But Steven's closer to Jere. Susanah also had a tiny little bias towards Jeremiah but wanted Conrad for Belly.
The only other person that preferred Conrad over him was Belly. This is where shit gets messed up. The moment he realises that Belly prefers Conrad over him and they might become something, he starts pursuing belly. Even though Belly gets with Conrad at the end of first season, Belly cares about Jeremiah, so she doesn't want to hurt him. But Jere can't accept it so he makes it everyone else's problem at thanksgiving. The hypocrisy is so real because in s2 Belly and Conrad were not even allowed to hold hands at the table but in s3 Jere tries to force pda onto Belly when she's clearly uncomfortable. (In ep 1 flashback) The irony of this situation is Belly and Jere had a fling for a few days and Belly and Conrad were together for 6 months.
Even in Belly and Jere's relationship the moment Belly disagrees with him or he can't have anything he likes her pulls out his "I'm sorry I'm not Conrad card" and Belly is forced to give into his whims. Even after getting Belly he still can't get over this made up rivalry. Until and unless he gets his father's preference he'll keep acting like everyone in this entire world treats him like an interior to Conrad when in reality he is the one who does it.

People on TikTok (and even here tbh) that are team Jeremiah, have created this version of Conrad in their head that is so out of character that I'm genuinely confused if we're talking about the same guy anymore... Like, huh, where did you see that characterisation? Have we been watching the same show??
#like calling conrad a creep and a stalker is crazy tbh#or saying that Jeremiah is the more mature one even throughout s1 and s2...#or saying his attraction to belly started only when she hit puberty#im not talking about the books#i haven't read them tbh#also remember this is just a show so please be kind or just block me#conrad fisher#jeremiah fisher#the summer i turned pretty#tsitp#tsitp s3

Guys, I know it's semantics, but calling 'Hikaru' (or The Thing) an evil demon or something similar sometimes pisses me off... Because he is neither good nor bad, he's a creature that exists outside the human morality realm... He might (and does) do things that we consider bad, but holding him that standard is kind of ridiculous... That's why it's quite interesting when he later on in the manga wants to be better and not harm people!!
#It's like calling certain pagan gads evil even though they're not (I'm talking about Lord Zeus here specifically as a hellenic pagan)...#anyways this is all in good fun so please be kind#hikaru tshd#the summer hikaru died#hikaru ga shinda natsu#tshd
