There's something I've noticed about all the Pepa bashing that's been happening in this fandom...

So, I've been reading a lot of the hate comments towards Pepa recently because I love torturing myself that much, and I realized something. When people bring up why they don't like her, most of the time it's for what I see as several autistic traits.

Think about it this way. Besides all the stupid crap with Bruno that was integral to the film's story, if you ask someone why they don't like Pepa, they would usually either bring up the breakfast scene or the line in WDTAB "You're telling this story or am I?". When I look at her angry during the breakfast scene, I saw it as more of a "don't mess with her routine" type of thing than anything else. As for the line in WDTAB, pretty much everyone hates being interrupted, but especially autistics (I know as and autistic when I get interrupted I get in my tense mode).

I know this may be a biased take because I am autistic and I see these traits in Pepa and headcanon her as autistic for that reason, but I noticed that there is still not just racism in this fandom (we've seen lots of that), but also a lot of ableism that a lot of people are turning a blind eye to.

I got a notification on this post just there, so you know what. I’m going to reblog this. I left the fandom and stopped making quotes because of this. I don’t want to be associated with the people who did this shit.

Will I come back and do more quotes for Encanto? Who knows. I still love the movie, but I’m done with the fandom.

To Carla’s family, I am so sorry for your loss, I truly am. They didn’t deserve anything bad they were sent.

And to the people who sent her all those horrible things: I fucking hope you’re happy now. Someone is dead because of you. A CHILD is dead because of you. Someone who just wanted to enjoy a movie that represented their culture, but of course you had to come along and ruin everything.

Honestly there’s a lot of things I’m feeling right now, but I never expected things to get this bad. I receive hate and death threats all the time, and I am suicidal myself, so this hurts double as much.

I truly hope Carla is in a better place right now even if I don’t personally believe in any religion. To her family once again, I am so sorry for the loss of your child, this was disgusting and I really hope you’ll be okay. And to any suicidal people out there: My DMs are always open if you need to talk/vent.

And finally to the Encanto fans who dared do this? Who still constantly do this shit?

I’m heartbroken and enraged at the events that are going on in America at the moment. Abortion should be allowed to whoever wants one, and the Supreme court just took that away. I made these in protest and I put them up on my redbubble. All money I get from these will be donated to abortion clinics/funds and any other charities that I can find for abortion.

I’m White. I’ve never dealt with racism my whole life. So I cannot imagine what it must be like for people who DO experience racism but I do know that it is NOT good whatsoever. ESPECIALLY black women, who tend to deal with some of the worst treatment I’ve heard of/seen. I really wanted to help spread awareness and help, but I need to make one thing clear:
