it’s really insidious how people will frame the transphobia that trans men face as “mild”. like they’ll literally pretend the extent of the transphobia we face is people just not accepting us bc they believe we are misguided girls that need to be saved. that certainly is a thing that happens, but it is borderline transphobic to insinuate that that is where it ends and that trans men do not experience violent transphobia. that corrective rape does not happen. that trans men don’t get attacked when people find out we’re trans. that we do not suffer physical and emotional abuse from those closest to us. that we don’t get the shit kicked out of us in school for being trans. that trans men do not have one of the highest suicide attempt rates in the queer community. 

trans men have consistently been erased from the narrative and used as scapegoats time and time again, and have been pushed out of and silenced in queer spaces for decades, and it’s time we stop pretending that that doesn’t happen. “trans men face transphobia” should not be a fucking controversial statement.
