From Cal Newport’s So Good They Can’t Ignore You:
The happiest, most passionate employees are not those who followed their passion into a position, but instead those who have been around long enough to become good at what they do.
Adopt the craftsman mindset first, and then the passion follows.
*There are some valid situations for which this mindset may not apply.
Read my summary of the book here, including exceptions to the rule.

Hello
I started this blog to get myself in the habit of practicing art and code regularly.
Art Goals
Work through the Animator’s Survival Kit
Recreate styles of other artists
Create art for the sake of self-improvement and not for acknowledgement by my peers
Code Goals
Implement common data structures and algorithms in several languages
Create web apps that help people do things more efficiently
Fill up a portfolio of short-term projects to use for getting a stable job
