dawn loved parties. the pulsing beat of the music along with the colorful lights, simultaneously bright and dim, always reminded him of being on stage. there was the adrenaline and the sweat and the feeling of being lost in the music, but there was also being just another face in the crowd. so many bodies moving together, but instead of them all looking at him, no one was. parties were everything he loved without the crushing spotlight.

he was leaned against the bar, sipping his third rum and coke of the night after leaving two of his members on the dance floor. he could see another one of his members not so subtly chatting up one of the new back up dancers and and the last two sat at a table across the room talking. he tried to find his sister in the crowd, but failed, unable to identify her at any of the tables or the mob of people on the dance floor. she was surely having fun somewhere in here.

he sighed into his cup, considering his next move. back to the dance floor, moving to the music and bumping bodies with everyone around him? stay at the bar, maybe grab another drink and find someone to chat with? maybe he could join his members or some other friends at one of the tables. he fiddled with the zipper on his green jumpsuit as he mulled it over, when a familiar face approaching the bar next to him decided for him.

Hyun had arrived at the party a while ago. He stayed with his group members at first as they took pictures on the photobooth, had some drinks and vibed together in general, but after a while, everyone seemed to scatter and the idol found himself alone

As he searched the crowd for someone he knew, to keep him company, the rapper spotted Dawn. Near the bar, looking just as lonely. Smiling, Jaehyun made his way there. “Hey, enjoying the party?” He asked, lifting his cup up for a silent cheer. “You can recognize me, right?” He questioned, seen as because of the make-up, some people around him took longer to know who he was. “You only get one guess.” He joked.

“look at you!” seungho’s boisterous laughter can be heard over the music that was already creating a ringing in his ears. “you look so cool.” he places both hands on either side of jaehyuns face, gently squishing his cheeks. seungho has always loved this holiday. it wasn’t something he had celebrated growing up, but he loved watching the way people dressed up in movies and tv. “gotta say i love the makeup. you should keep it. i think its a step up from your usual look.” he joked. @indigosmaknae· 

“Seunie! Thank you, it took a long time to geat ll the make-up done but I think it paid off.” Hyun smiled, let the stylist squish his cheeks, wrinkled up his nose. “Oh, wait. Did you get any on your hands now? It shouldn't come off easy, but still.” The idol looked down to make sure Seungho's hands weren't painted white.“But look who's talking! I bet you had a thousand people cheking you out by now.” He teased, smirking. Jaehyun had had a couple drinks at this point, but he wasn't drunk or anything. Slightly tipsy at best. “Ah, why do you always have to be so mean?” He complained, pouting. “Ready to visit the haunted house now? I was actually looking for you so we could go! If we go now, the line won't be so bad.” It was clear that he was excited about it, as Jaehyun always loved Halloween and all that entailed.

“don’t make me feel special jaehyun-ah,” he teased him in return, nudging his arm softly. “a man likes to feel complimented so i’ll react with no shame.” malachi added pointedly, brining the cupcake to his lips to lick off another helping of icing. he listened to jaehyun speak through sugary laps before giving him a smile, “i appreciate you not participating in my further traumatization. “they do if i’m remembering correctly.” he indulged in the rest of the cupcake on the drive over, just about finished with it when they’d finally arrived to the store front. 

malachi gave jaehyun a bashful smile and shook his head, “every time i attempt to i get anxious all over again, so i just get off the internet for awhile. i’ve already tried to work on stuff for the next comeback to ‘better’ and i don’t even know how everyone feels,” the soloist confessed walking through the open door rolling his eyes at jaehyun’s faux curtesy. “you trying to get lucky tonight, hyun-ah?” he asked raising a brow following him to the back table, taking up one of the little menus waiting on the table. “they do have family style by the way, only on a few dishes.” there was an added nod, “it is actually, i’m not sure why but my expectations were low.” as he spoke what he assumed as an employee stepped up to the stage to announce the first act. quickly after they shuffled in with brass instruments and cellos, surprising malachi even more. “this is going to be dope, i thought everyone was gonna be a band like my old one.”

“Why not? Are you afraid I'm gonna make your heart flutter?” Hyun countered, chuckling as he was nudged. “You know, I'm starting to think that's the only reason you keep me around, to get complimented often.” He joked. Watching him as Kai talked, the rapped nodded, recognizing the feeling. “That's pretty relatable. I could look at it for you, if you want. Send some of the best reviews. And it's great that you're already working on your next comeback. Just remember that it's ok to take a break sometimes. Get distracted with something you like before diving in again.” Jaehyun wished he could follow his own advice, but he's too much of a perfectionist for that. Whevener he's struggling, wether with a dance move or to hit the right note, he basically isolates himself from the world till he gets it right. On his own.

He smirks at seeing the look hsi friend gives him. “Maybe. Or maybe I'm being nice only to get you to be my wingman later.” Jaehyun said in a playful tone. Looking over at one of the menus, he started searching for the family sized dishes Kai mentioned. “Do you know what you're getting? Think I'll go with the beef skewers first. And oh, they have a drink called 'Drop the Mic', wanna try it?” Hyun watched as the band settled in before turning to attention to his friend again. “Same here. Do you miss them?” The idol asked quietly, referring to Kai's old band. The first song started and Hyu nwas humming along, really enjoying the peformance. He even filmed a bit on his phone. “They're really good!”

he accepted the hand up gratefully, extending his senior and friend a smile. “i was just trying to smooth out this choreo some, its really kicking my ass,” he laughed a bit, jogging across the room to pause the blasting bass of ‘guerilla.’ “you know how comebacks are, always got to top the last one, right?” he rolled his shoulders out, leaning side to side to stretch his tired muscles. he didn’t realize how long he had been practicing until he glanced at the time on his phone. he took one last look in the wall length mirror, weighing the options of continuing or calling it for the day. he was bordering very close to overworking, and he knew the consequences of pushing your body too far too well. he let out a sigh and let his arms fall from his hips. “a break would be really great, actually.” 

“Oh, well we could schedule a practice together if you’d like. I’d help you out or just watch and give you honest feedback.” Hyun offered as he was known to pick coreography pretty fast.  “Tell me about it. Sometimes I can’t even catch my breath in between. Or get used to my new hair style, because it changes so fast.” The rapper watched as his friend streched and seemed to be reaching a decision. Smiling at hearing his reply, Jaehyun came closer, walking with him as they left the studio. “Cool. Have you eaten yet? I’m feeling like having fried chicken for dinner and I’ll even pay this time But don’t tell anyone about it, especially any of my group members. They’d take advantage and ask me to pay everytime.” The rapper joked.

there was a comprehensive energy about her nod, but ultimately she decided to take the offer. it wasn’t like she hadn’t met him before- well, more so seen him. kai has mentioned him a few times, and she’d seen them off to a hang out once or twice. it was just different to talk to him, especially after she’d just got caught snooping. a quick glance from her watch confirmed she had some down time, kai was off enjoying his free time and her work for the day had been tackled. “uh- sure, why not?” the words were confident, but her tone- most definitely were not. she felt like she was still intruding in some way. “oh, i forgot they had water dispensers in the practice rooms.” she took the small cup, kind of surprised. was it weird when she stopped in on kai that she just brought him bottles of water, not even questioning if the rooms already supplied it. she took a sip, barely looking around the space. his things littered around but, that didn’t both her. ilsu shook her head, “messy? no.” a small chuckle left her lips and she took another sip. the question was interesting, but only because she didn’t get to see much of city to have much to say. “it’s nice, and different. i haven’t really spread my wings around town yet- but…” sulli smiled, “-…it looks promising. i’m sure you and the boys have ventured out- how are you enjoying it?” 

“I honestly didn’t think they’d provide it for us here. Since it’s a temporary practice room and all. But I’m glad they did, cause I drink this much water, at least four times a day.” He showed Ilsu his water bottle, that was one if the biggest he could find. And smiled. “It is,but I’ll fix it.” Hyun ran over to organize his phone, shoes, airpods and backpack neatly. Cleaning up some space in the room. “Oh, I hope you have the time to do it soon. There’s some really beautiful sceneries out there. Ah yes, we went to see one of the tulip gardens and rented bikes. It was fun. Seongho took me to a fleat market too. So, from what I’ve seen, I’m really enjoying it. What about work? Kai’s not giving you a hard time, right? I’ll talk to him if he is.”

okay, so she may have escaped the sights of her staff, specifically her bodyguard for a bit of fresh air. misa considered herself a pro at sneaking out, all those years of getting grounded and escaping out the window coming in handy. however, she could admit this was a different situation. she wasn’t confined to her room or in any trouble so of course, a text was sent to haneul out of consideration since he was vastly different from her parents and their rules thus making it easier to communicate. though she hadn’t anticipated how far she went, just enjoying the sights of a beautiful city she’s never been to and she didn’t mind the weather at all. the soloist had been so caught up with admiring the historic memorial that the force of another body knocking into her’s caught her off guard, a cautious expression forming onto her features. “hyun~” she breathed out in relief as she registered the body to be jaehyun, posture relaxing as she smiled up at him. “been pretty good, berlin is beautiful,” she replied, glancing around — partly in admiration, the other part making sure nobody had recognized them. “what about you? how are you liking it so far?”

”I’m glad to hear that. And it really is, Berlin already took a spot on my top 5 cities we’ve visited so far.” He smiled. “But it’s not like I went exploring on every single one of them. That’d have taken too much energy.” As a fellow idol, he knew she’d understand. Sometimes, Jaehyun would get back from a concert and sleep the next day away. With his packed schedule, those were rare occasions, but still. Lately, he had been known to fall sleep anywhere. Just from how tired he’d get. “You’re alone today?” Hyun couldn’t hep but notice that Misa’s bodyguard, Haneul, wasn’t with her. At least he wasn’t anywhere he coul see. “It’s sad to think about families being separated, living on different sides of the wall. Not being able to see each other for years.” He said, looking around. And then, a drop of water fell on his hair. And another. The rainy weather that was promised had finally arrived. Hyun opened his umbrella, covering both of them as didn’t seem like Misa had one with her. “It’s ok, I got you.”

Outside of all of the group rehearsals, Hyun had his own training schedule while on tour. The time he’d take to perfect dance moves and clean the choreography or even practice the most difficult steps on his own. That day, he decided to go on the afternoon, figuring the studio would be empty as most of the idols were probably out and about in Milan. But just as he was getting there, the rapper could hear loud music coming from inside. Listening close, it became clear that it was one of Phonix’s songs. Not wanting to interrupt anoter idol’s practice, Hyun was ready to turn awat and leave, but then he took a peek at the glass door and saw Dawn there. “Hey.” The rapper greeted his friend, after opening the door. Walking closer, he offered him a hand to help Dawn stand up. “Everything ok  here? It’s fine, I can come later. But if you need to take a break, maybe we could go for a walk?”

dawn could see the sweat wetting his shirt in the reflection of the mirror in the studio as he worked through the choreographed moves along with the beat of the song. perhaps he should be out sightseeing or trying foreign foods, but the choreography from his group's newest title track had been kicking his ass, and he was getting tired of it. he groaned in frustration, loud enough to be heard over the blasting music, when he dropped a move on accident, throwing his entire timing off.

he leaned his back against the mirror, dropping to be seated on the floor. he rubbed the back of his sore, sweaty neck, attempting to work out the knot that had settled there. the dance he was trying to work out wasn't the easiest on those muscles. he didn't notice the person in the door until he was getting ready to force himself into standing again. "ah, my bad. do you need the room?"

seungho plays with the settings on his camera as he waits for the tour to start. he’d managed to get two last minute tickets to the ‘skip-the-line duomo and rooftop guided tour.’ truthfully he only did it to skip walking up all those steps. safe to say he’s been skipping the gym lately and didn’t want to be reminded of how big of a mistake that was by getting winded climbing up who knows how many steps. this was best. easier. and he was eager to see the kind of view they’d get to see from the rooftop. “how good is your english?” the tour was going to be translated through the headset given out, but his english wasn’t the best. he hoped hyun would be able to help translate the parts he didn’t quite understand. @indigosmaknae· 

Jaehyun was quietly looking around, observing the cathedral's gothic architecture as he waited with Seungho. He was glad to be doing the tour with his friend, had wanted to come as he had seen pictures online. “Is that one professional?” The idol questioned, eyes on the camera the stylist was holding. “Quite good, actually. If there’s anything you don’t understand, I can help.” Hyun smiled. “My italian, however, is non existent. A fan saw me outside the hotel yesterday but she didn’t speak english or korean so I couldn’t really understand anything apart from my name. But she didn’t seem disappointed, which is good. Maybe I should’ve taken lessons before coming. Our tour guide speaks english, right? Cause what if we have questions?”

he hesitated, he didn’t want to make jaehyun uncomfortable with his presence. they didn’t end on good terms and that was probably not the best situation for a ride in an enclosed metal box with no way of leaving right away. but ren pushed away his pessimistic thoughts and decided if the rapper was fine with it, he should try to be too. so he gave a simple nod, barely there and frigid — there was many things he wanted to say to the younger but that was the thing, ren’s curse was his silence, his inability to voice out his true thoughts and emotions, only giving out vague words that left little to the understanding. the elevator doors finally opened but he wasn’t met with relief, only tense shoulders as he stepped in after the rapper. after pressing the button for the lobby, he stepped back and kept his eyes glued to the descending numbers above the doors, fingers fiddling with his sleeve. but suddenly they stopped and the elevator jolted with a doomed noise, the lights doing nothing to quell his racing heart as he gripped the railing on the wall tightly. “what the —“ he gasped out in a sharp hiss, knees buckling. and oh god, he didn’t want to think about how far up the elevator was stopped, dangling. “nope. definitely not moving.” he replied in a shaky voice, forcing himself to get into action as he pressed the emergency button hastily. “somebody has to notice we’re stuck in here, right?”

“Are you okay?” Hyun asked, wanting to reach out and help Ren regain is balance, but not really sure if the other would accept his help. “Oh no, I have to be at the lobby, basically now. Look for the intercom, hyung. He instructed, before coming closer to help. He was so desperate to find a way out that the rapper didn’t even notice what he had said, until their eyes met. “I'm sorry.” He looked away, cursing himself for making things even more awkward now. It was an old habbit, just a slip of the tongue. Finally locating what seemed to be the intercom, Hyun picked up the phone, but as he put it on his ear, it was mute. “The line is disconnected.” The rapped sighed, starting to panic. “Maybe, if we make so much noise that they can't ignore us. Want to try screaming together on 3?”

"It's hard to pick just one, so I'll go with Fake Love, Call me baby and Love Shot! I really enjoy to peform high energy songs, but it's also pretty nice to hear the crowd singing along with us and for that reason, Spring Day is included on my list as well."

if you woke up a girl, which infinite girl group would you want to be in?

"Flora! I really like their songs and image so it'd probably be a good fit."

whats a hidden skill you have?

"Tap dancing. I've had lessons as a kid and can still remember most of the steps. Maybe that could be incorporated on a stage on the future."

"Answering that could get me in trouble and unnecessary drama so instead, I'll just tell you 3 people in Infinite that I acknowledge are pretty attractive: Deiji-ssi, Ren, Dae-ssi."

If you had to be stranded on a island for the rest of your life, who would be the 3 people you’d want with you?

"I'm gonna have to pick my group members first, but I'll count them all as one person. We'd keep each other entertained, safe and there'd be enough good cooks around so we wouldn't starve. Also, we've seen enough of one another that it wouldn't be awkward to walk around on our boxers if we needed to wash our clothes on the sea. Next, I'm picking Seungho because he'd miss me too much. Ok, but he's a reliable friend, good listener and someone fun to be around. Even if we can annoy and tease each other a lot, he never complains when I rant about my favorite tv shows non stop. And finally, I'm gonna go with Jinnie, but before y'all start calling me a homewrecker, it's only because I think we'd be able to work out an efficient getaway plan and get home.

Who is someone you'd like to collab with?

"I might have a couple things in the works that I can't talk about yet. But, apart from those, I think maybe Misa-ssi or Minseok sunbaenim."
