foggy eyes and tears crowd the red, rippling floor

a tan and crimson scene too cruel to abhor

alas, the savior never cut the last line

now his partner had to pay the ethical fine

dress in the fedora, hear our regretful echo,

strangled in the lowest halo, “better luck next time.” ~~
