About your boundaries, can we do OC x canon with the other neighbors? The adult ones, specifically. And of course, respecting the others! Like the one that doesn't allow any sexual interaction.

When someone gets infected are they dead or part of some hivemind and slowly going insane? Also are they slowly dying from the infection like cancer?

all correct, in a way! the parasite does kill the infected, and then uses the body as an extension of itself.

in a hipothetical situation, given enough resources, it could start growing and become an amalgamate of infected bodies and objects.

Mono live with her guardian, Batrex in a normal neighborhood but they didnt know that home became infected.

One day, Batrex hide in his bedroom and told her not to come in which it didn't sound normal.

She thought he just getting dress or something but 39 minutes later,She hear something in a bedroom that didn't seem to be normal.

Mono walk to the door but notice it's Crack open, she push the door carefully until she saw batrex becoming infected

Mono was shocked by this and ran out of the house. But instead of infected batrex chasing her, he ran to the woods and she never saw her guardian ever again.

If Innie is 8-10 how old is everyone else in the AU? I know previously that Barnaby was like pup’s father figure pre-mansion and Julie and Frank gave Innie their clothes after he lost them all but is that still canon to the story?

all that is still canon to this AU's story, yes! Barnaby is in his early 20s, Howdy and Poppy in their 30s, Frank and Eddie in their early 20s, and Julie and Sally are in their late teens :)

can bugs be infected? and can they fly around still after being infected and infect other things?

I've answered this before, but yes, they can! you wouldn't usually see it, though, since it'd be a waste of resources for the parasite because of the small scale of the bug. it wouldn't last long, either, as the parasite would consume it pretty quickly.

usually, bugs that wonder too close to it just end up getting absorbed as nutrients, instead of getting infected. :)
