On March 11th, 2020, he was awarded the “Outstanding Adjunct Faculty” designation for Academic Year (AY) 2019-2020 from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC).
About UMGC “Outstanding Adjunct Faculty” designation:
Charged by President Miyares in Spring 2018 to develop a mechanism to “recognize UMGC’s most outstanding faculty,” they have developed a rigorous selection process to reward excellence in the classroom in alignment with the “3 Rs” academic affairs has identified as the most important faculty teaching behaviours. These are Relevancy, Responsiveness, and Relationships.
The criteria for the inaugural award of this designation were derived from three questions on the student end-of-course evaluation survey, all of which a faculty member can control directly. Using these questions, they computed an average index score based on a three-year average (calendar years 2016, 2017, and 2018) to ensure a broad basis for identifying outstanding adjunct faculty. For this first year, they recognize those faculty members with an index score in the top 10% of scores (out of a possible total score of 5.0).
The “Outstanding Adjunct Faculty” designation confers the following benefits:
• Priority offering of an academic year 2019-2020 annual agreement (this offer was issued to you in Spring 2019) • Priority staffing, now managed via the Faculty Profile Management System (FPMS) that launched in Spring 2019 • Recognition via UMGC channels including Engage and the annual Global Faculty Appreciation and Awards Week • Additional one-time pay of $1,000

Udemy Instructor Receives One Month Suspension for Organizing DDoS Attack
Tucson, AZ - Udemy has handed out a one-month suspension to one of their instructors, Clifton Krahenbill aka Prof. K, for encouraging his 34,000 students to organize a DDoS attack against an illegal torrent site that had pirated one of his hacking courses. Professor K teaches for the number of online schools, universities, Udemy and owns and operates Syberoffense (http://www.syberoffense.com/). The instructor was not available for further comment. In response to the one-month suspension, Professor Krahenbill stated he accepts the suspension but feels he has fallen on his sword for the hundreds of instructors at Udemy that have had their courses pirated by this site. The site in question is no longer online. Since 1998 Professor K worked in technology as a Microsoft Support Technician, Technology support specialist, Microsoft Certified Trainer and IT auditor and he comes to Udemy with a Master of Science in Information Technology from Capella University (2007) and Master of Science in Cyber Security from UMUC (2015). "I accept this one-month suspension and feel I am falling on my sword. I was contacted Udemy for a response but did not get a comment." Said Clifton Krahenbill aka Prof. K. Udemy has a legal and anti-pirating department and aggressively goes after sites that pirate courses off of Udemy using legal means. Udemy does not encourage or condone any rogue behavior by their instructors supporting Udemy students to carry out an illegal DDoS attack regardless of the reason.
