Knölkollektivet

[ingentinget] is starting up the performance art collaboration "Knölkollektivet" together with the dancer Ester Olofsson! After performing the piece "Cumbersome Dough" together   at Supermarket Art Fair 2017 we found that it would be really interesting and also lots of fun to let this artistic relationship continue to evolve. I have a long history of working with lumps (knölar) and it feels great to let this intriguing shape follow me in to this collaboration and see what we will make out of it together. 🥔🐪💪🏽

Sadly the performance was very hard to photograph and I didn’t get anything good from the actual piece. But these illustrates that the audiens could see but with their own faces on mine.

Cumbersome Dough 006 & 007

My whole body is aching after performing my piece ‘Cumbersome Dough’ two days in a row at Supermarket Art Fair this weekend. Standing up for two hours each day with 10kg flour, 5kg sugar, plus some yeast and a portion of water in my arms is certainly not a easy task. 

Time run slow as syrup the first day, the dough was sticking to my clothes so that the fabric cut into my shoulders and I was trembling while I thought that I would have to give up. But both the two hours came and went and the next day I was already stiff and sore when I stod up with the dough once again. 

I would like to send warm thanks to everyone who was working with Supermarket, to the sweet volunteers who produced thees photos and took care of me when I was tired and shaky, to the galleries, exhibitors, performers and to all of you that took part of my performance piece.

Stay upright, stay straight and pull yourself together. Hold it tight, hold it close and hold it together in your arms while it is rising. Tremble as it clings to you, sticking to your arms and to your clothes, weighing you down towards the floor. 

It is a cumbersome dough in a slow durational performance where people pass by like time as the fermentation process proceeds, and a barely maintained facade of strength decomposes.  

Duration: 120 min.
