Final update. I don’t think I could row any more than I did but having surpassed all of my goals, I have to say I am pretty happy with myself. Goal: Row 10,000 meters Oct. 25-31st. Result: 25,242 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 this was arms only (my legs might figure it out someday but for now they just watch). So...I completed my 10,000 meter challenge but wanted to keep going to see if I could move up on the honor board. Tonight I rowed more than I ever have and I’m now at 17,690 meters!!! For the first time I decided to try to complete a challenge through Concept2s website. For adaptive members (those with disabilities) the goal was to row 10,000 meters in seven days. This is something a lot of people wouldn’t even notice, but today I had to walk across to get my PPD read for work. One photo is hard to see but I had to cross train tracks plus textured stones, broken cement, my favorite yellow bumps and generally crummy walkways. Before I had Hope, someone would have to walk with me and let me hold onto their arm. I really don’t think most people realize what an difference service dogs make in their handlers lives.
