PUPDATE! We visited PPP Service Team Kathryn and Pauline this weekend and they are doing great! Covid has been a challenge with Kathryn’s immune system concerns but Pauline helps every day with her mobility and retrieves every dropped object she asks. Pauline lives with a golden retriever, two cats and chickens, which she is very amused by! This summer had been going well for them. They went to the lake a few times: Pauline loves the kayak! Pauline has loved having all of the kids home from school, but is always paying attention to Mon’s needs. Kathryn cannot thank PPP enough! We were able to re-certify Tram Kathryn and Pauline for another year! If you haven’t noticed, my legs are a little different. I have the body of a Lab, but not the height. I also tend to favorite my front right leg. It has grown to face outward. I’ve been officially diagnosed with dwarfism. I tend to walk slightly sideways. It doesn’t keep me from playing or running, but every chance I get I do tend to lift or bend my right front paw. I know this is going to be a challenge that could affect my mobility, so I’m happy that I have a great friend in @charliegracesmiles who is proactive about these types of things. In this video, I'm doing what's called a forward momentum pull for my girl. 🐕⬅️🚶‍♀️That's where I pull into my harness while I'm walking as a way to save some of my girl's energy. 👍 Her nausea has been pretty bad every day for the past few weeks and has been particularly rough for the past few days. 🌀 Her headaches have also been spiking during this time, too. 🤕 It could be her migraine disorder, it could be the dramatic changes in weather that we've had, or maybe all or none of the above. 🤔 Regardless, when I do my forward momentum pull for my girl, I save her some of the energy that her symptoms like to deplete. ⌛️ And since I incorporate a bit of guiding by avoiding obstacles and following directions, my girl has one less thing to think about when she's feeling sick and overstimulated. ☺️ And on a beautiful spring day like today, it's hard not to love my job! ☀️ . . .
