The music's starting to get annoying. Maybe it's because your enjoyment had taken an initial blow from the watered-down beer that had been brought. Or maybe it's how someone's bumped into you for the fourth time tonight and you're itching to deck the next person to walk up to you.
But when you see his face, you forget all about it, letting a small smile play on your lips. Mary shuffles over, looking tired and cradling their phone, which you notice is already unlocked. The notes app is open from what you can tell. That's not unusual. Sometimes Mary will think of lyrics while out and they're compelled to jot them down before they forget.
Instead, Mary turns his phone towards you, pleading green eyes looking into yours.
Please please can we go? And maybe get Taco Bell? I'm hungry
Your smile grows wider. There's people swarming you and you're sure their anxiety has finally started to kick in. The confident front only lasts so long. So you nod, pour out the rest of the shitty excuse of beer, and follow Mary back to the old beaten up truck you arrived in. He holds the door open for you before climbing into the driver's seat, letting out a sigh of relief.
"You okay?" you ask them softly, reaching over to smooth out part of their hair. Mary nods, shooting you a smile.
I am super against light pollution, and have been for decades
but I am also super annoyed by the way it's framed as "without light pollution you can see how beautiful the night sky is" way more prominently than it's framed as "hey, did you ever stop to think of how much energy/resources/money are literally wasted by having so much light shine up into the sky?"
so people get the idea that light pollution can only be remedied by eliminating all night-time light, which would make being outside at night very inconvenient, instead of by making night-time light shine only on the ground where, y'know, the people who need it are
This is what happened when a fanfic site is profit driven. Wattpad sucks 😞
The email from Wattpad is so condescending imagine pressuring writers to update and work while they are doing it for free and fun. Also the discovery? Algorithm? Of Wattpad looks like a stressful popularity contest 😑
I don’t have time to draw it right now but while driving home from the winco I saw a happy mustached man pedaling a bike, towing a cart built to look like a chariot, inside of which stood what I can only imagine was his completely expressionless 13 year old in a makeshift corinthian helmet
