You really need to make non-tragic past for your characters, significant people and events that impacted their lives, non-dramatic mundane moments that shaped them, happy memories, bitter memories, embarrassing memories.
Like yes the space princess lost her whole civilization, but did she have friends before that? Favorite place? Does she miss the sound of her favorite music she use to listen to?
#for my characters;#Sasha; has a great loving relationship with her mom#Sasha; loves to visit her mom for painting and sculpting sessions (her mom is an artist)#Damien; loves his parents SO SO SO SO much#Damien; comes from a very large very loving family and has a lot of great friends#damien; he's a sweet boy who has sweet friends I love him lol#float; has traveled the world for eons meeting many interesting people and getting to love them all#float; falls in love with every new place he finds and consistently believes that humans can always do more and become better#Judith; her parents actually love her very much but shes kind of estranged from them because of the House#Dalton; his dad is a real tough guy sweetheart who loves his son so damn much#Dalton; also dalton's dad fully supports his son in his love for other guys#dalton; his dad is like “hell yeah go get a boyfriend!!!”#sunniva; is extremely loved and protected by her community after her parents die#officer Bea; uh shes normal lol

i was in my lit theory class last week when a girl approached me and said I seem cool. I thought she was going to ask for my phone number but instead said "do you have an Instagram?" unfortunately, I do have an Instagram but I never use the damn thing so I gave her my username and just....never talked to her. I'm gonna sound really old saying this but why can't people just text? why do we have to use Instagram or whatever? you have a phone and (presumably) a phone number and cellular service so.....just....text me??? it can't be that hard, can it?
