2016-2023-2025

The evolution of Akira Ikeda, now Akira Karatachi—a character redesign nearly a decade in the making. I first created her in 2016, and while I’ve always loved her, she was undeniably a Mary-Sue. In 2023, I refined her design, but in 2025, I took it a step further with a complete overhaul. While retaining key elements of her original concept, I focused on making her more grounded and believable, particularly in relation to her father, Yagura Karatachi. This redesign not only strengthens her visual identity but also deepens her connection to the world she belongs to. It’s been incredible to watch both my artistic and storytelling skills grow through her, and I’m excited to see where she goes next.

It’s always surprising to see how much my art style evolves over the years. Looking back, I can clearly see my growth, but after such a long hiatus, getting back into the rhythm of drawing has been a challenge. It’s frustrating—not being able to match the quality and life my work once had—but I’m determined to push forward. Improvement takes time, and I’m committed to growing, evolving, and finding my stride again.

The quiet hum of a city waking up—bathed in the soft hues of dawn, caught between shadow and light. While Eraserhead lingers only as a silhouette, the true focus is the world around him, a testament to my journey in mastering backgrounds. Every stroke was a challenge, every color a lesson, and though my skills still have room to grow, I’m proud of this step forward. Here’s to capturing more stories in every skyline.

So not only have I been having some flare ups I’ve got a damn bug now too. I feel like electricity is shooting through my head every 5 seconds coupled with intense sweating and nausea. I feel like I’ve fasted from food and water for 24 hours, got thrown into a clothes dryer for a full heat cycle then pulled out by someone with a taser who decided my head was the perfect place for their target practice.

I was going to add some more sketches from "The House on Lane 66" by @oolongteacup426 but I decided this sketch deserved to have it's own post. HOL is a fic that I've been reading from nearly the beginning and goodness let's not talk about my love of Milo. I would burn the world for him. I'll have some art of him soon, but instead enjoy Mutt and Butch duking it out.
