god buck is selfish!! it’s his biggest flaw!! he makes things about himself unintentionally!! it is a direct result of his childhood trauma!! he never got the attention he deserved as a child and he has abandonment issues!! he pushes people away when he has big feelings!!

and eddie comes in and calls him out!! because he cares about buck more than any other adult in the world!! he reminds buck that other people exist and need his love!! because he knows buck has so much love to give!!

and eddie’s begging for it!! he’s begging buck to take a step back out of that selfishness and stitch him back together!! because he knows buck can and will once he realizes someone needs him!! because all Buck’s ever wanted is to be needed!! and all eddie’s ever wanted is someone to love him enough to fix the broken pieces inside of him!!

that scene wasn’t uncharacteristic or mean or unfair or whatever other words have been thrown around!! it was a real look inside both buck and eddie’s flaws and how they fit together!! it was REAL!!
