Might be controversial, but I think the friendship and lavender marriage between Evelyn Hugo and Harry Cameron is more beautiful, heartbreaking and heartwarming than the relationship between Evelyn and Celia.

Eddie has never looked hotter than when he strut into his parents house, told his mom "Then you know what's happening" with that fucking smirk, packed up Chris's stuff while telling her off, and walked out the door.

Rereading The Hunger Games and just got to the part where Katniss finds Peeta at the river and I'm reminded all over again how much I love them. It's not that I forgot, but their chemistry? Their banter? Everything that makes them them? Suzanne Collins, the master that you are.
Katniss complimenting Peeta's ability to hide and his sassy little comment about frosting being the final defense of the dying has me cackling. The way he's so proud of himself for impressing her? I'm sobbing. They've been back together for two seconds and I'm already kicking my feet and giggling.
How can you not ship these two with your whole entire heart?

I find it so funny when ppl say that Katniss has no personality, she's so cute and funny! Like do you not remember when she...
1. Thought Finnick was making out with Peetas corpse and was like "damn didn't know he was fruity like that"
2. When Gale confessed his love for her and she was STRIAGHT up like "yeah I know" 💀
3. Saw Peeta had been crying after the first reaping and immediately thinks "damn he's good, playing the weak sympathy card". Like girl he thinks he's gonna die! He's gonna die!
4. Katniss and Finnick wearing the green face cream in CF and scaring the fuck outta Peeta on the beach
5. Just her and Haymitch, especially the first book
6. "I decided to go ahead and like Boggs" - thanks for letting us know queen 👑
7. In MJ when they're trying to film the propos, and she's just horrible at it
8. In the first book when she's trying to drain the pus out of Peetas leg and she just so goddmaned grossed out
9. Saw the cupcakes at the Capitol party and immediately thought that Peeta would love the frosting details
10. In MJ when Gale and Peeta are talking about Katniss choosing one of them, she's just like "gonna leave you two bums here, don't need this shit"
11. Everytime she was unaware of people flirting with her or just being nice. She always think there's some hidden motive... like girl they're your family and friends, they just like you as a person
12. "Nobody needs me" "I do, I need you". Katniss finally admitting her love for Peeta and realises that she can't live without him!! It's such an important part of her growth towards Peeta and no one talks about it!! The girl how has survived everything finally needs not just something, but SOMEONE. And it's HIM (I'm so normal about this I swear)
13. Sassying buttercup at every turn
14. She has the same vibe as goop from Meet The Robinsons (especially with Madge). "Hey Katniss, wanna eat lunch together?" "Hey Katniss, wanna go for a walk into town later"
She's there like:

Katniss and Peeta if the books were her memoir:
Katniss: alright, I think this will be the opening scene. I figured I’d start at the reaping, nothing earlier than that.
Peeta, while reading (also imagine cute reading glasses cause he’s adorable): uhuh.
Katniss:…
Peeta, laughing: you have the funniest thoughts. Why are you being so judgemental to poor Gale?
Katniss: I’m just being honest. Who has kids in the middle of the hunger games?
Peeta, turning a page: our parents. Oh! Theres me!
Katniss, nervous: …
Peeta, his eyebrows flying up: you have… a lot to say.
Katniss, still nervous: a lot in a bad way?
Peeta, snickering: a lot in a ‘school girl crush way,’ are you sure you aren’t changing things because of how you see me now?
Katniss: This isn’t how I see you now! That’s what I honestly thought of you.
Peeta: you had a crush on me?!
Katniss: what? No!
Peeta: Listen, I think I’m the authority on long-held crushes around here. This is a crush, Everdeen.
Katniss: I. Did. Not. Have a crush on you!

"She’s not an easy person; she’s like me, Peeta always says. But she was smarter than me, or luckier."
There's a lot to be said about this line, but one thing I like about it is that Peeta is aware of Katniss' flaws ('not an easy person' and 'like Haymitch' are not exactly compliments) yet we know he loves her probably even more than before Mockingjay. That is what we like to see; him seeing her for what she is (and not raising her on a pedestal like he used to) but still loving her like he does.

Katniss getting taken to the Games.
Asterid fearing for Katniss’s life.
Asterid fearing Katniss dying. Fearing Primrose becoming Merrilee, being forever haunted by a dead sister in the Games. Fearing Primrose becoming bedridden. Seeing Katniss’s ghost in everything they do. Feeling the guilt of having a sister die, while you live.
And then. Katniss lives. With Peeta.
And Asterid now fears Haymitch’s fate onto her. Fears she will slowly unravel and loose herself. Fears the nightmares will never stop.
And then President Snow shows up.
Asterid, hands shaking, offering him Peeta’s cookies, knowing he killed Haymitch’s entire family. Knowing he is responsible for so much death and pain. Knowing her fate rests in his hands. Knowing her life depends on whatever Katniss has to do to make him happy. Asterid not wanting to stress Katniss, but knowing the risk they are all under.
The Quarter Quell happening. Asterid losing her daughter again. Knowing the high probability she won’t come back alive. Knowing Primrose WILL lose a sister now.

Peeta Mellark is an integral member of the four D12 victors. He is literally the sunset on the reaping! How is this not clear? I’ve never wanted to report people for bad literary analysis more and I’m only half joking. It has forced me to commit a cardinal sin: analyze in anger!
1. Him being chosen by absolute accident is the point. Not only does he represent every single other tribute who simply gets chosen because they live in a messed up country but he represents how even with some odds being in your favor (older siblings, merchant family, being white, being popular, etc.) you are still very likely to be victimized by the oppressive structure of Panem.
2. When Haymitch says, “But she was smarter than me, or luckier” - the luck is all the people around Katniss who created the circumstances for her to lead a successful revolution (her father teaching her to hunt, the arena having woods, Rue healing her with leaves, Thresh not killing her, Haymitch consistently giving her support, her mother teaching her aspects of medicine, on and on and on) and Peeta is the number one, most important part of her luck in the first book. She has someone in the games actively putting her life before his… are you kidding? There is legitimately no better luck than that.
3. Even if we take Katniss out of it, Peeta is so impactful as a victor because most of his scenes would not be cut/doctored. What’s there to edit out? Instead, the viewers get a full view of him loving a girl so selflessly, using trickery and strategy instead of violence, keeping himself alive through art, joking on literal death’s door, and sharing so much of himself with the audience it becomes harder for them not to see him as a real human boy. How rare do you think that is for the games? Haymitch and LGB are caricatures of themselves in the games, playing roles that flatten them down. Even Katniss becomes one dimensional on screen without Peeta (and Rue, of course). It is also heavily implied that he does not kill anyone during the games (in a straightforward way) and even if you count Cato or the girl from 8 or even foxface, it’s never him hunting them or seeking out a kill - again how rare do you think that is to see on screen for Games viewers?
4. I didn’t think this needed to be said but: Katniss dies without Peeta in the first games. a) she goes for the bow and dies in the bloodbath; b) she is hunted and killed by Careers; c) she is killed by game makers because there’s no love story angle to keep them from just burning her entirely; d) she dies from tracker jacker stings or Cato because Peeta doesn’t defend her or tell her to run… I could go on…
5. But even if she does win and wins alone - the victory means as much (I would argue less than) any other rebellious victor winning, certainly less than Haymitch’s win. The biggest rebellion for their games is that two of them win! This is legit the only thing that distinguishes them from any other sympathetic, kind child who would have won the games. Like if Haymitch or Finnick or Wiress winning isn’t jarring enough for the Games to end… why do you think Katniss killing Peeta and winning solo would be? It would not.
6. And finally, I cannot stress this enough: There is no peaceful end to the rebellion or the trilogy without Peeta. “Peeta’s a whiz with fires” (HG) for a reason! Collins, over and over, shows us how fire can get out of control and destroy even those who are innocent and who you love (Gale, Beete, Peeta’s family, Haymitch’s family). If everyone really burns, there’s no one to clean the ashes. The reason not everyone burns is because of people like Peeta who can coax the flames in a way that is nurturing and consistent. I mean…. “Peeta fashioned some kind of incubator” is such an obvious detail. Those goslings don’t hatch without Peeta, life does not go on in peace and joy without Peeta.
It is no coincidence that when Maysilee says Lenore Dove got the “jump on us all” (in being a rebel), she is referring to LD using orange paint to make protest art!
We must stop pushing Peeta Mellark out of the narrative! He is literally the sunset on the reaping!

Just a reminder that we don’t know all the good things Katniss does/did for her community, because Katniss wouldn’t tell us unless it was relevant to what was going on.
In Catching fire, she doesn’t tell us that she’s being going around and bringing food to poor children in the seam until she needs to explain why she had a bag of food and why her mother wouldn’t find that odd.

In the first book, when she’s telling Peeta about the story of how she got Prims goat, she refuses to admit that this wasn’t a selfish move so she could get money out of that goat. (You could also argue that this is her refusing to be vulnerable in front of Peeta and all of Pamen though. I think it’s both, because she doesn’t even admit that she did this purely for her sister in her internal dialogue.)

And in Mockingjay, she never tells us that she’s the one that got Haymitch the goose eggs to help him heal after the games. All she says in the epilogue is that Haymitch raises geese when the liquor runs out. And we would never know otherwise if Haymitch didn’t mention that SHE was the one who got him the geese in sotr.

anyone else thinking about effie spending 24 years watching haymitch completely fall apart. effie, who met haymitch by accident, who knows exactly what kind of person he is, who sees him every year on his birthday for 24 years and each year he’s drunker, each year he’s angrier, each year he’s faster to give up. and then they get katniss and peeta. peeta, who is kind and open and understanding, who refuses to give up on haymitch. and katniss, who is so much like haymitch at 16 that it hurts. and over the few days they’re together, effie watches haymitch come back to life. watches him try. watches him have hope. and then they get to keep not one but both of those kids. they get to come home. and then, less then a year later, effie pulls haymitch’s name at the reaping.

Many thoughts rn but tldr "I don't have to sleep with everyone I have feelings for" is such a genius character line for Buck and possibly the most romantic love declaration that Eddie will never here. Buck started out as a sex addict but has both grown as a person and loves Eddie so much that he accepts he will never sleep with him no questions asked. BUT STILL LOVES HIM ANYWAY. HELLO! I didn't think the writers had it in them!!

The thing about 911 is that the shipping drama and discourse surrounding it completely belies how insane this show truly is. A man is attacked by a shark on the freeway. Ghosts are probably real, and so are curses. The most recent season opens with a bee-nado that segues into a plotline about an autistic half-orphan child landing a broken plan. The most dramatic moment between the fandom's favorite ship is one of the characters getting shot by a sniper in broad daylight in the suburban streets of Los Angeles. Buck's introductory scene of the entire show is him stealing a firetruck to have sex with a Tinder hookup. The fire captain's backstory is an addiction that led to the death of 148 people. He's best friends with his wife's ex-husband and once proposed to said ex-husband's boyfriend on his behalf while that boyfriend was performing brain surgery on a man in the middle of a burning building. There's a guy who sneezes every time he lies and then lies so hard he almost dies. One of the main characters gets rebar impaled through his skull and is back to work the next month with no lasting side-effects. They basically never fight fires.
