The funniest thing about this fandom is that half of you little shits looked at the two most virtually insane people and twirled your hair and kicked your feet in response

"when dealing in infinites, unlikely is just certainty waiting for it's turn" is such a raw line you'd think it came from Shakespeare but no it's from Famous Youtube Star Markiplier's eponymous In Space With Markiplier

Super rambly and messy essay time
Not to be That Guy but I think ISWM ESPECIALLY the Mack parts help highlight Actors true character and satireize the common but woefully incorrect one and gives us a good insite to Actor and Celines marriage and it's subsequent failure
In space it's seen that Mark is both loyal to the captain, and willing do disregard most anything due to his trust and admiration to them, and caring, he reaches out to us time and time again in the end.
He only ever turns against us when we repeatedly disregarded him and his feelings, or he thinks we are willfully causing harm to the general fabric of existence in which he is willing to repeatedly sacrifice himself to the point of near madness - and in worlds where he ends up still believing that he forgives us anyways
Mack on the other hand is abrasive, arrogant, stand offish, dominating, literally warping the narrative so he's in total control and the captain is overtly punished for unspecified crimes - he's what a lot of people think Actor is when he isn't. Just some guy on an ego trip without rhyme or reason. Not a man with feelings that can be hurt. Who loves and trusts his friends more than anything. Who tries his best to do what he thinks is right to save people.
But Space also shows us Mark struggles to reconcile the idea of him being at fault, and I think it stems from his adtmepts to fix things - a mentality of if he's helping them how can he be part of the process problem? The root of the issue is the Warp Core, and Mark perpetuates it's existence. I think this can be both literal and a metaphor.
The House Enity in WKM is likely what kick started a lot of problems. All the affair photos of William and Celine are shown to be outside of the house and I don't think that's a mistake. Celine wasn't unsettled by Mark, she was unsettled by the house itself and wanted to escape it.
But the way she did it, thru cheating, ment she not only gave up on the Marriage, but she also gave up on Mark and left him in a place she felt/knew was unsafe, she gave up hope of ever fixing things but Mark in turn refused to see the root of the issue - the house itself, which was very clearly exposed when he died for the first time and Didn't Stay Dead, and stayed there and became trapped in a cycle of death and revival refusing to give up his need for justice. (A need that is reenforced thru his word choice in Space)
One thing I want to add, the difference between WKM and ISWM is Actor Mark isn't totally cut off from a support Network. In WKM Will and Celine cheat and Damien is implied to have been aware and complicit and in commentary streams IRL!Mark remakrs Actor sent away a large part of his staffing, self isolating. It's important to know, Chef and Benjamin are just that, staff, not friends and Abe is somewhat similar - hes implied to have been hired to investigate the cheating // Is a very recent friend of Actors - not childhoods like William and so on.
But in Space Actor has Y/N who despite the timelines when they are separated, Timelines where Actor notably spirals, Y/N doesn't willfully abandoned Actor - they are separated by events they both have no control over. Hell, the TRUE ending has them reunited with Actor thanking them.

What I love most about ISWM is the fact that it's fundamentally a story about friendship.
The story is all about the Captain and Mark and how their faith in each other motivates them to keep going in such a hopeless situation. Mark says outright that the only person he trusts more than himself is the Captain. And even though they put him through so much hell in the first act of part one, the Captain clearly cares about him too - throwing him out of the way of danger as the ship malfunctions, checking in on him when they're first taken by Wug, comforting him when he's crying, etc. Their friendship grows strong the longer they spend time together in the loops. (And just a note, Mark and the viewer character are always very close friends in nearly every project - Heist, Date, the van vlogs, hell Actor Mark even calls them friends at the beginning of WKM)
And ultimately its Mark losing his faith in the Captain that drives him to build the warp core and go back in the first place. He still had faith in the Captain in the years he lived in a timeline where they never woke up from cryosleep, but the second he sees them again, warp crystal in hand, it breaks him. He starts to believe Lady, that it was their fault everything happened, that they destroyed the universe. He grows resentful of the one person he trusted other than himself, its clear to see in the final scenes of both part one and two.
But the Captain never loses faith in Mark. Their drive to save him, to save the universe keeps them going throughout the entire series. And in the end, its holding on to their friend, even after everything, that saves the universe.
