Reedshine is a red non-ticked tabby molly. Appledusk is solid fawn. Therefore, their kits all have red from mom.

Applekit/frost is a cream non-ticked tabby tom

Shykit/heart is a solid lilac tortoiseshell

Willowkit/nose is a solid blue tortoiseshell

Unpopular opinion: Reedshine and Appledusk deserved better.

AU where the Erins didn't pick Ashfur at random to be a villain and actually made him into an interesting 3-dimensional character. Here' Ashfur is still an asshole but not a full-out attempted murderer. He still has a thing for Squirrelflight as young warriors and, though salty about her rejection, he gets over it eventually. There's still some awkwardness and mild hostility between them, though (mostly from his end). He's similar to Longtail in the Power of Three series, in that he's rude and hard with Lionpaw/blaze but is still a good person deep down. Ashfur and Lionblaze have an antagonistic relationship due to the clash in personalities, but Ash still manages to mentor him well and develop a decent rapport with him.

That brings us to the fire scene. In this AU, the three find out about their heritage sooner (they're raised to think they're loners that Squirrelflight found, not her bio kits). Obviously, warrior code-obsessed Hollyleaf isn't too thrilled about discovering that she's the result of an illegal affair between Leafpool and Crowfeather. Ashfur isn't used in this scene for a forced confession and underdeveloped drama. He actually dies in this scene saving Squirrel and the siblings, knowing full well that the tree used to cross the gorge will not last long enough to bring him to safety. In short, he sacrifices himself to help his Clanmates and former apprentice survive. This scene still acts as the final nail in the coffin for Hollyleaf's sanity; a seasoned warrior just sacrificed himself so a trio of half-Clan bastards could live. He died for

them

, and for the cat that lied to her whole Clan to cover her traitorous sister's ass. Everything else in the series remains the same for Hollyleaf. She still develops PTSD from the fire and Ashfur's death, though for different reasons-- survivor's guilt, if you will. Ashfur also doesn't help Hawkfrost's scheme, though I'm still working the details out on that one. For anyone who doesn't know, Hollyleaf is depicted as a tortoiseshell in this image since her mother is cream and her dad is black, leaving her with no other option, genetically speaking. Ashfur is a spotted tabby with green eyes due to the lack of white spotting (still retaining a blueish hue, tho).
