When many people think of cybercrime, they conjure an image straight from a cheesy 90’s Hollywood film: nerds sitting at computer screens frantically tapping away at keyboards, green text scrolling across terminal windows.
“The password is ‘Jellyfish123.’ We’re in!”
Indeed, there is some truth to this stereotype. I don’t think I have ever met a hacker who was shy around a command-line interface, and it is conceivable that an opportunistic hacker may possess the technical capability to computationally derive a password or decryption key and break into a system.
However, the reality is that the most effective cybercriminals are not necessarily computer scientists, they are social engineers and psychology is a core component of their rootkit.

*Don't let circumstances take control*
Just think, how many minutes, and often hours, you spend every day, dwelling on what this person said and that person did. If you take these incidents too personally you become unfocused and inefficient at work, at home, at everywhere else.
We let people and circumstances control our life, if we let them affect our moods and state of mind.
An effective method I use is called emotional detachment. Developing a certain degree of emotional detachment can make great changes in everyone’s life.
*Here are a few ways to practice emotional detachment:*
- Practice letting go.
- Substitute your negative thoughts, fears, and worries, with happy and positive thoughts.
- Learn to observe your thoughts and feelings. In time, this will enable you to detach from unwanted thoughts, feelings and reactions.
- Learn to loosen your attachment to unpleasant memories and the past.
- Avoid people that depress you, let you down, or unjustly criticize you.
- Life is too short not to enjoy it (or let people or circumstances take that joy from you). Enjoy it and have fun!
Have a great day

*Tip Of The Day*
Ditch the word 'should' from your life
We live in a culture that puts ‘hustle’ on a pedestal. It makes you feel guilty if you don’t work. The hardest thing to do is nothing.
There are two things wrong with the phrase «you should work».
First, it’s the word should. When you live your life by shoulds, you give away responsibility for yourself. You live your life based on other people’s and social agendas. Let’s replace the should with want. Yes. That’s much better.
And second, it’s the concept of something called ‘vertical coherence’ from the book Flow. When your life is coherent, your day-to-day actions represent your long-term goals and vision. This is what makes you most fulfilled. But when you wake up each day and tell yourself you must work, there isn’t any coherence in relation to your long-term goals.
So start living by wants instead of shoulds. And make sure your daily actions align with your long-term goals. You don’t owe anybody anything. There isn’t anything you should.
*Have a great day ahead*
