Loving these, figure I could also use for the 1920s because these types of undies still got used a bit. Also Edwardian fashion is pretty, just not interwar lol
TS4 Edwardian Combinations
Tumblr media
Here, I premiere my first-ever fully completed piece of CC!
These are Edwardian-era combinations for your female Sims, which I was very much missing in my game! I based these on this beautiful combination from the MET and various French drawers from the time. Though they are intended as Edwardian, they could very well fit from the 1890s into the 1910s.

The Einstein Tower, Potsdam, Germany,
The Einstein Tower, is one of the best-known examples of German expressionist architecture. Designed as an amorphic structure of reinforced concrete, Mendelsohn wanted the tower to represent as well as facilitate the study of  Einstein’s radical theory of relativity – a groundbreaking theorem of motion, light and space.
Astrophysicist Erin Finlay Freundlich commissioned Mendelsohn (along with a young Richard Neutra on his team) to design the Einstein Tower as a research facility for the theory of relativity. Between 1917-1920 Mendelsohn made numerous sketches of the facility, attempting to create a dynamic structure which would give form to Einstein’s groundbreaking theories. The resulting plan revealed a centralized observatory tower, banded by rings of windows, raised on top of a wavelike platform that would house the laboratories.
Influenced by the work of expressionist artists of the time, such as the painter Wassily Kandinsky and designer Hermann Obrist, Mr Mendelsohn began to search for new methods of construction that would allow expressional freedom, which is why he eventually settled upon easily sculpted reinforced concrete as his material.
Building commenced in 1921. Unfortunately, however, the sculpted concrete structure proved difficult to execute with the technological capabilities of the time. The failure to complete the building according to his original plan prevented him from designing such ambitious projects in the future, and the Einstein Tower remains his best known building.
The research center opened in 1924 and held the most important solar observatory facilities until World War II, when it was severely damaged. In 1999 the building was reopened, in honor of its 75th anniversary, following two years of renovation; today it houses a working solar observatory as well as a visitors’ center.

Gonna have to try this lot. Also wondering if I should make it apartment based. Because that sounds fun
Lady of the Seas, a 1920s cruise ship (Download Tray Files & CC)
Tumblr media
Hello my lovelies! It's been a while, I know... but you know how it is, you pick up the game and play non stop for like five days and then you forget about it for two months. Would it really be The Sims 4 if we didn't have a love/hate relationship with it?
I do check Tumblr every now and then even if I'm not in the mood to play the game, though. That's how I came across @khakas-cc's Painted Lady set the other day and felt so inspired I just had to go back to building! I thought it was the perfect set for a pristine white, Titanic-like cruise ship and so without further due... introducing the stunning Lady of the Seas!
Tumblr media
Indulge in the pleasures of hedonism aboard Lady of the Seas, a luxury cruise ship equipped with everything you need to embark on your journey through the crystal-clear waters of Sulani like the true aristocrat you are. Here are some screenshots:

Before you go ahead and download it into your game, a few IMPORTANT disclaimers:
The lot is a 50x50. I built it in the empty lot on the Lani St. Taz neighborhood (Sulani).
I used items from several expansions and packs (listed in screenshot below), so if you don't own them those items might be replaced with others.
This lot is set as Residential, but you can change it to a Residential Rental and make each room an apartment!
Like all my builds, this is a heavily CC based lot. If you don't have a powerful PC, it might get laggy while trying to play with it.
Regarding the CC, I do not own nor take credit from any item included within this lot. All credit goes to their amazing creators, especially @valiasims, @khakas-cc, @surely-sims & @doctorsimcraft whose content I mainly used this time around... though I also used some items from others creators such as Harrie or FelixAndre.
The .ZIP file (3.62 GB) includes two folders: one for the Tray Files and another one with all the CC. I'm 99.9% sure all the CC I used is already public for everyone; if it's not, it's been definitely longer than three weeks since it has all been in my game and you (the CC creator) shouldn't be putting content behind permanent paywalls to begin with ;)
I did use bb.moveobjects on while building and have playtested it, so it should be fully functional. Let me know if otherwise.
And that's pretty much it, folks! Please let me know your thoughts and if you run into any issues do not hesitate to let me know. I'll try to help best I can :)
PLEASE do tag me on your screenshots if you share them here on Tumblr. I'd love to see what you guys make with it!

Needed this so badly!
Tumblr media
Listen To A Radio Show
Gather around the radio and listen for a while!
This mod adds a new pie menu, Listen to a Radio Show, to all regular stereos, which will give your sim the option to listen to a variety of different kinds of shows, mainly aimed at the first half of the 1900s up into the 1960s, inspired by things that they would have been able to listen to. Despite TV taking off in the 1950s, radio shows seem to have remained popular for a while after that.
Tumblr media
There's also a new social interaction to go with one of the shows, and a new piece of deco cc to go with another.
The pie menu should show up on most things in the audio category of buy mode. It won't appear on the music box from Life and Death, Lin-Z, DJ booths, or karaoke machines. It should show up on cc stereos too, for maximum historical usefulness.
While your sims are listening to their show, they are strongly encouraged to sit (on furniture, not the floor) and listen. They may decide not to, especially if there's not enough room or seating. They might decide to dance, or chat, or put away a book. They will stay within three tiles of the radio, in the same room. They should not cancel the show autonomously unless their needs drop too low, the radio breaks, or they get interrupted by something with even higher priority (including, unfortunately, a pop up to ask if they want a new preference).
Most of the shows are two hours long. Some are available for toddlers, some only for child and older sims. Some are basegame, some require City Living (the talking ones), and Country requires Horse Ranch.
Most of the time, sims will get a buff while listening (kids don't get a buff for listening to soap operas. Some of these vary by age and/or traits. Then, once the show is over, most of the time, sims will get one of a variety of buffs from what they watched. If a group of sims watch, they probably won't get matching buffs (I'm thinking of it as they reacted to different parts. One show would generally have been shorter than they'll be watching here. For example, soap operas may have been 10-15 minutes long.). The buffs may be a reaction to a specific show, or they might be a bit generic. If they reference a specific show, it's a real show that existed. If it references a real person, I mostly substituted a sim (not necessarily from TS4), except for one singer.
At any time while the show is on, you can change the station, and sims listening will continue to act as if their show is on. You can even turn it off. If your sim or you hate the station I picked, you can switch it. If you want your News to sound like Latin Pop, well, they had studio musicians. But if your sim has a trait that makes them lose fun from listening to the show, that will continue.

I'm going to say this requires City Living. Technically, I think you could use it with just base game, but you'll be missing some text and some images will be llamas. You can try to use it without City Living if you want, but I won't be providing support for that. You'll have 3 of the 10 shows available, and you'll have an overall poor experience. The Country show requires Horse Ranch, but that shouldn't affect the rest of the mod.
Requires Lot 51's Core Library

Known issues:
If a sim gets interrupted on their way to the stereo, they'll (probably) still listen to the show, but they may not get the buff for it. This is most likely to happen if there's little room. If they don't get the currently listening buff, they might not get the follow-up buff either. If you want them to get the currently listening buff, you can cancel the interaction and tell them to listen again.
This was inspired by my Horse Ranch radio as BG TV. The problem with that one is that it's tied to one specific radio. The idea was to inject TV interactions into stereos, but video is not compatible with audio devices. This is not a replacement for the TV, since it does very different things, and won't count for a bar's requirements or for holidays that require TVs. It's more of a companion.
Thanks to Kuttoe for the original idea, which then spiraled out of control, and to the kind people in Creator Musings for helping when I forgot how to mod.

Late 1910s Convertible Dress
Tumblr media
Saw this image, got inspired, made an outfit.
This type of "convertible" ensemble is meant to make it easy to switch between pants (for activities like bicycling or work) and dresses, in a time when it wasn't exactly acceptable for a woman to wear pants in public. In this case, the ensemble consists of a bodice, bloomers, and an apron-like dress to cover the bloomers.

Lonelyboy's @happylifesims 1920s Day Dress 01 and 02, converted from TS4 for TF-EF! 10 original colors apiece, textures in the AF files only with other ages slaved. Both are categorized for Everyday + YAF Maternity, and Dress 01 (on the right in the picture) is also Outerwear.
DOWNLOAD Dress 01 (the jacket)
DOWNLOAD Dress 02 (with the striped trim)
Swatches, etc. under the cut.
Dress 01 is paired with semi-opaque hose and oxford pumps. (The reference here is a very funky 1928 Liberty of London print set, but you really can't see much of it.) Just under 5k polys. Ten colors:
Tumblr media
Dress 02 is Everyday only. Also around 5k polys. All colors get black t-strap heels with opaque black wool stockings, and this shared texture is in the AF mesh package. (This dress was designed in 1924 by Paul Poiret and is also in the V&A collection.)
Tumblr media
I have most of Lonelyboy's 1920s day dresses in some state of completion and I'm hoping to release at least a few this week while I'm on break.
Credits: First and foremost, Lonelyboy for the original TS4 dresses! I can't thank him enough for making beautiful meshes that are also constructed so smartly. Lifa @withlovefromsimtown for the WSOs for the morphs for all ages and the elder conversion of Dress 02. @witheredlilies for Dress 01 shoes for TF/AF, and @picknmixsims for streamlining my whole age conversion process with the Repository Wizard.
Known issues: the drapey bow/scarf bits don't always hang perfectly. (Fat morph of 02 is pictured above; you can see how it clings to the bust.) Clipping on the skirt is comparable to similar EAxis meshes.

1930s Horror Film Posters
This was a huge project, and now they're finally all together: A collection of 10 posters for horror movies from the 1930s - with a personal, legally distinct twist! Having my legacy feature actors in the 1930s gave me the perfect idea for Simblreen. Horror movies (especially monster movies) were a huge genre in that decade, so I just had to make my characters star in some of the most famous ones. The text is entirely in Simlish, but the (main) actor names have been changed to the ones of the sims shown on the respective poster, while the others names are the same. Also, whenever a studio is credited, I've changed it to the Plumbob Studio.
