Now that pumpkin spice is back in season, and so are colds and flus, let's talk about some of the other common Autumn spices - cinnamon, clove, and ginger.

Cinnamon is known to be antispasmodic as well as antibacterial. Some people do take cinnamon in capsule form as an herbal supplement to help control blood sugar.

Clove is high in antioxidants, may alleviate tooth pain, and also may help support healthy blood sugar levels.

Ginger has gained popularity for it's anti inflammatory properties as of late for arthritis and other ailments. It's also a common anti nausea fighter and stomach settler. Also useful for easing menstrual cramps!

And why not stir all that goodness into a warm cup of tea on a chilly autumn day?

Marriage

This is so weird, but I just got married and that is probably one of the best things that has happened. A lot of things I have found surprising:

- I found out a month and a half into our marriage that my husband has permanent braces on his bottom teeth. They’re one of those hidden kinds with a bar behind the teeth. I only found out when he was trying to steal my ice cream cone. 

- We’ve been eating ice cream for breakfast most days. This is the first time both of us has moved out (i’m 25) (not counting college) and we both really thought that we were going to be more responsible than this. We’re not. 

- My husband enjoys having tea parties with me. We bought a tea set just for our tea parties. We may not have money, but it significantly ups the experience when you’re watching Downtown Abbey, Miss Fisher, and other period dramas. 

- My dog and my husband are more of a match than my husband and I are sometimes. You’d think that my husband raised the dog from puppyhood and that I was the interloper here. 

- I no longer have to eat food I don’t like. This is such a weird one because I didn’t expect this at all. I’ve been used to eating what my parents have and what is made without complaining because they’re my parents. But now on my own, I don’t have to do any of that. As a result, I bake most every day and my diet is trash. But trash that I love. (i fully expect that i’ll eventually get out of this phase. i do love veggies, but i’ve got a sugar problem)

- I think I love going on walks more than my dog does. It’s the best time for my husband to actually talk to me instead of playing Minecraft or school. He pays attention to me then, but it’s not the same undivided attention.

I can’t believe this. I’m so excited, but I don’t know how to feel. It’s ending, but how can it end. I want to read it so badly but if I read it, I will have read The End. This is my very favoritest book series. What do I feel about this. @meganwhalenturner can’t you please keep stringing us along and release a book every 5 or so years. I’d be ok if the next book comes out in 2030.

not to be fake deep on main but learning to knit and actually being able to work thru struggles and get better and learn more techniques and try new things when im comfortable with them has been very reassuring and calming.  usually it feels like i either Get Stuff or I Dont and when i dont there’s no way for me to problem solve my way out of it myself but knitting has been a very safe place to make mistakes and try again and thats nice

About an hour and a half ago I felt a cat jump on my bed and settle down, curled up next to me. Ten minutes ago the cat started meowing quite a bit, and it occurred to me that this didn’t sound like the meowing from the cats I own
