Happy father's day, here's a modern/single dad VashWood AU ^^

Their kiddos are besties cause of course they are

Kaeda calls Vash "Uncle Vash". Kotori calls Wolfwood "Mr. Wolfwood" (even though he's told her repeatedly that she doesn't need to be so formal)

Wolfwood picked up Spanish from the caretakers at Hopeland, Kaeda picked it up from him. Both are fluent

Wolfwood got his master's because he's aiming to replace Chapel as head of the church/orphanage, once the geezer finally retires. (Neither he nor Kaeda like the guy. He doesn't like them either)

Vash works at the same company as Rem, Nai is an economist (environmental). Livio is a social worker at Hopeland

Kaeda is a bit of a stubborn spitfire, Wolfwood swears she gets it from her mom

Kaeda has gotten in trouble for bringing in her Tio's glass eye for show and tell... multiple times

Kotori is a little intimidated by her Uncle Nai (he's scary when he scowls! Which is... all the time), but loves him (and her Nana) dearly. And while Nai may not always act like it, he cares about his niece a lot too.

Vash's nicknames for Kotori: Ko, songbird, sparrow, his little angel. Kotori calls him Dad/Daddy

Wolfwood's nicknames for Kaeda: mija, little tyke/terror/troublemaker, baby bug, roly-poly, pipsqueak. Kaeda calls him papa

Kotori is a bit of a gifted kid, and advanced for her age (and the youngest of her cohort since she was enrolled early). But she doesn't like math

Kaeda is also very smart, but has trouble focusing on things that don't interest her, and would rather be running around outside than sitting in a classroom

Kaeda is a tough cookie and rarely ever cries when she falls (which happens a lot)

Wolfwood has had to replace a lot of his dishes with plastic for the time being....

Kaeda is a bit of a late bloomer, she didn't start talking until she was two. But her first words were "Where my damn keys" (while looking for her stuffie)

Vash and Kotori go on daily morning walks (and she helps him with putting on his prosthetics/getting ready in the morning)

Reunions

Context: First image is meant to be a few months after the finale. Fen recently dropped out of November University and returns to her hometown (Juneport Junction) and is working at a bar when Wolfwood happens to pass through. This is the first time the two have seen each other since the events of Ju Lai.

Second image is ~2 years later (post relationship, pre StarGaze). It's been a couple months since they've last seen each other and cross paths in a town where they're both on assignment (her for Bernardelli and him for EoM)

PREMISE: Fen is an ordinary civilian that gets entangled with Dabi (Touya) and ends up with a kid.

Touya didn't know about Sora until he was almost 2 and a half

This AU takes place ~7 years after canon, and in a timeline where Touya doesn't die and eventually goes on parole

Sora absolutely idolizes his dad, and adores the paternal side of his family (they haven't told him yet about his dad's past...) and reeeally wants his parents to get back together.

While he adores his dad and thinks the sun rises and sets with him, he also loves his mom, a lot. He's a bit of a mama's boy and would do just about anything for her

The Holloways moved to Musutafu when Fen was 4. The two met when her mom had gone around the neighborhood introducing themselves. At first, Touya wanted nothing to do with her (and found her attempts at befriending him Annoying) but she managed to worm her way into his life

Fen is the one who found him on Sekoto, and stayed by his side everyday while he was in his coma
