NFL Player Moonlights as Uber Driver

Many people are taking on second jobs as they work to make ends meet. Some freelance and others take a second position with an employer. 

But an NFL player?

Miami Dolphins reserve defensive tackle A.J. Francis slated to make a little more than $500,000 this year, but his paychecks do not start until July when training camp begins. In the interim, he is making $40 to $50 and hour as a driver for hire with Uber.

Francis says the job is perfect because it enables him to meet new people. After football, he hopes to enter broadcasting, so he improves his interview technique by interviewing passengers and then posting the videos on YouTube.

Francis says he is following the old adage about not putting all of his eggs in one basket, though he says when the NFL season starts he will be placing all his eggs into the professional football basket, giving up his part-time Uber gig.
