Dear Media: The college demonstrations are anti-genocide, not "pro-Palestine." Israel's actions are horrifying no matter what population they're aimed at.
Writing that they're pro-Palestine brings the historic conflict into it and makes a good guys / bad guys narrative where none exists. The Israeli actions are freaking EVIL. There's no good and bad.
Former NPR staffer Uri Berliner criticized NPR for being too woke, and it ignited a wave of support from conservatives like Zionist terf Bari Weiss. The reality is, quite the opposite, actually:
Bisan's recent post. I think it's important for you to read it. Tonight 03.12.23, journalists in gaza share their last messages. There are no words to describe the horrors unfolding in gaza right now.
I no longer have any hope of survival like I had at the beginning of this genocide, and I am certain that I will die in the next few weeks or maybe days. I have been sick with severe viral infection for days and cannot move from the mattress!
I suffer from nightmares that are so closely resemble reality that I no longer differentiate between reality and dream.
I live in a world other than the one I claimed to be building! I am a community activist who lived on the fantasy that the world was free and just, and I sought to bring rights not only to my people, but to many men and women in third world countries!
I was shocked that I was not from the third world! Indeed, we are the most humane and moral! Yes, because the world approves, supports, and finances the genocide we are being subjected to, legislates it, and gives reasons for for 58 days! While we are a people who have been living on occupied land for 75 years and are still searching for our rights and communicating our voice to the world!
My message to the world: You are not innocent of what is happening to us, you as governments or peoples that support Israel’s annihilation of my people. We will not forgive you, we will not forgive you, humanity will not forgive you, we will not forget, even if we die, the history will never forget .
A Message to friends: Thank you and the supporters around the world. You have been compassionate and very strong. We ask you not to lose hope, even if the world seems completely unfair and your efforts have not yet resulted in a ceasefire.
Al Jazeera posted a long-form article about the Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza. It talks about who they were, their hopes and their dreams.
At the bottom, there is a Romanized searchable version of the list of names of people killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.
The first 7 pages are children below the age of 1.
The Gaza health ministry said Israeli forces are stealing organs from the bodies of people killed in field executions.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Dr. Ashraf A-Qudra, the spokesperson for the Gaza Health Ministry, said up to 100 bodies at a time are often returned to Gaza from lsrael and buried without being identified, which he said is devastating for families who do not know the fate of their missing relatives.
A-Qudra said bodies are taken from Gaza to an unknown location in Israel, where their organs are stolen or their bodies are used for medical research. The bodies are then returned to Gaza either decomposed or missing organs.
Journalist Moataz Mustafa Al-Ghafri, his wife, and his son, Joud, were martyred as a result the IOF targeting their car, north of Gaza City. He is the 128th journalist to be martyred in Gaza since October 7th.
This is one I missed earlier, it's from 19:10pm GMT on the 9th of November 2023, so almost 2 hours ago
This is DEEPLY fucking concerning. It also explains the earlier report about Reuters denying they had prior knowledge too. I can see them using this as 'justifiable cause' for targeting journalists.
In the way they claim Hamas is in every mosque, ambulance, portaloo, I'm waiting for them to start saying the journalists they murder were ones who recorded footage from the 7th.
