“You two sure work quickly,” Aventurine says, a grin on his face as he steps forward to greet them. “Done sabotaging already? And here I was thinking we’d be here all night-” Here’s the thing: Aventurine knows how people work. It’s how he’s survived this long, for fuck’s sake, and their current relationship aside, it only makes sense that he would know how Topaz and Veritas move. There’s a certain kind of confidence that the two of them share, the kind that sinks into your bones and never truly leaves you. They move like people who know exactly how skilled they are, who have realized their worth and no longer question it. When Veritas opens his mouth, his words never falter, and when Topaz aims her gun, she doesn’t miss. In fact, her shots ring out before Aventurine even gets a chance to raise his shield.

upcoming wip, originally intended for ip3 week! alas, i did not account for how exhausting it would be to move with a kitten, so it's still a work in progress for now.

the prompt is bets/games, and it'll be similar to my last fic, one finger on the trigger, but a lot less dark as their relationship develops through harmless bets :D

He hates how he's practically melting into the floor, caught in a web of his own self loathing and pity.

And he should move, right? Should stand on shaking legs and stumble towards the bedroom, or the kitchen, or wherever his lovers are. A few steps and he can drown himself in their presence, get high off their soothing words and drunk on their intoxicating touch. Let the feelings rush over his mind, until his mask – all sweet honey and bitter poison – fades away.

It's just a few steps, that's all it would take.

Unfortunately, his body doesn't seem to get the memo.
