Irwin could only chuckle, he'd hoped it would go past his notice but no such luck it seems. So he abandons all pretenses entirely. Irwin self-consciously rubs at back of his neck and nods sheepishly. "It's... not too bad. But worrying enough especially when I'm alone on the road."

He tilts his head, looking rather confused. "The echo?" Then a moment of recognition flashes on his face. "Isn't that what the Warrior of Light has?" He shakes his head in denial. "That'd be silly, why would I have something like that." Hm. Wait a second, now that he's finally facing the man before him properly. He's looking real familiar...

There’s a nervous laugh from him and a slight grimace, “That’s true I suppose, and rather bleak.” “So, the headache, yeah? Just something that comes and goes- very rarely!” He adds hastily. “Just a passing headache really, andsomevisionssometimes.” He coughs the last bit out.

“And well!” He claps his hands together loudly, as if to distract what he just said about the visions. “I’ve been told. I’m very nice to be with in the summer, because it’s cold. That’s a blessing if I’ve ever seen one.” He says smugly then pauses, and mulls it over for a second. “Though I guess not so much in Ishgard.”

Morganaux nodded along as he listened to the other describe his condition, his brow raising higher the more he spoke. Did this man really just try to gloss over having visions as if it were no big deal, all without even an onze of subtlety?

Crossing his arms, he looked around to make sure no one was around to overhear them, then leaned in, voice lowered to a whisper.

“You know, I am a very experienced healer, so I can tell when someone’s feigning a cough.” Another glance off to the side. “If I heard you correctly, I believe you said something about… Headaches, along with visions, was it?”

Leaning back a bit, a small grin spread across the Elezen’s face, his pointed ears giving a slight wiggle. “By any chance, might I be in the presence of another Echo-bearer like myself?”

Irwin has experienced unrequited love! It's rough when you're short in Ishgard. Even rougher when you're an Au Ra who just moved in right after the Dragonsong War.

In his teens, he had tried to court an elezen lady. Didn't go too well.

18: How do they react to others breaking the law? If they would do it themselves, what is their reasoning?

Irwin's no criminal but he understands sometimes why people turn to crime. Especially if it's brought about by desperation for essential resources. Or if the law in question itself is oppressive.

If he were to witness such crimes, he won't really get himself involved. And might even help cover it up if it were the latter.

((POV: You are the eighth Ishgardian noble to ask for a dance with the Warrior of Light at the ball this evening, and now he’s pretending to be too lost in thought to notice you, anyone, or anything around him.))

"A full week! A well deserved vacation, I'll say." He says. They continue to dance along, Irwin going so far as to gently dip the other man. Entirely oblivious to some of the looks the more traditional members of the house were throwing Irwin's way. "Hopefully, the star's troubles will put themselves to rest for all our sakes." He says lightheartedly.

Morganaux's intuition is right on the money, Irwin being here is both him being brave and clueless. He's aware of certain prejudices, though unaware of how deep it may run in the House of Dzemael.

At a slow portion of the waltz, Irwin ventures to ask, mindful of course of the time and his initial promise. "I imagine you must've been dancing the moment you'd arrived. Have you at least had a chance to eat, drink something perhaps?"

Irwin had been watching eagerly from the sides, the Warrior of Light! Here in Ishgard! Being rather short, he’s overshadowed by a majority of the guests and so as gently as he could, he muscles his way to the front and gets his chance.

He gives a small guilty smile, of course, it must’ve been quite a taxing night for the favored gust. “Of course. Leave it to me.” Taking Morganaux’s hand, Irwin leads the waltz confidently.

Irwin’s face is that of a perfect gentleman as they dance, though a quick glance at his rear, his tail betrays his composure as it sways excitedly.

“Will you be staying in Ishgard for long, Lord Morganaux?” He starts to ask, a quick twirl- keep with the beat. “I imagine your duties pull you all over the realm, and then some.”

Irwin doubles back. “Did I say all the time? I meant just sometimes!” The headache has begun to wane at least and he no longer has to squint. “It’s uh- It’s.” He scrambles for the words and looks up at the stranger, seeing well- All of this energy from the stranger seems to be coming from a place of genuine concern, so might as well.

He sighs once more and begins to wring his hands together. “Oh, alright. The cold, is normal, at least for me. My mothers say it is a blessing from the gods. They bicker if it’s Halone or Menphina.” He pauses, unsure how to talk about the headaches. It’s so… unusual. Even talking about it seems absurd in his head.

“I’m quite certain you specified all the time, and even sometimes is far from normal!” Morganaux insisted, eyes narrowing. “When dealing with matters of health, honesty is of the utmost importance. Those who aren’t can end up dead.”

He paused, then held out his pointer finger, as if to interrupt the stranger before he even had a chance to respond. “Not to say that your condition is fatal, of course! I’m simply using that as an example, so there’s no need to panic,” he says, all the while working himself into a panic. 

“But, if your condition is somehow a blessing, there must be some sort of positive side to it, or else I’d imagine they wouldn’t call it one. So, pray tell me, how is this a blessing?”
