Every oc has a certain aesthetic as you have your own, which oc did you give certain aspects of your aesthetic? Like for example the love for dark lit rooms or handwritten letters?

every person has a distinct speech pattern, such as the repeated use of “uh ehm” at the beginning or stutter or the habits of possibly repeating sentences a second time but quieter. What is your oc’s speech pattern? and how would they react if one were to point this out?
#i feel like matthew may have the most complex speech patterns of my oc's#i guess it doesn't seem like it unless you write him but#it may seem like he stutters but he almost never stutters#he stammers which is repeating a full word over and over#and he does this when he's searching for a word or isn't sure about one he's used#also when he's on the more nervous side of his mood spectrum#when he doesn't want to pause what he's saying so he just stammers rather than trail off#he does use ''um'' ''uh'' ''ehm'' a lot as fillers#he will also do like a little fake laugh mid-sentence or at the end if he's afraid he's coming off too serious or nagging#(even if he is actually serious or nagging)#he also does that thing where he cuts off in the middle of a word like he's gonna stammer but instead just switches to a whole new sentence#like he starts over a different way and will sometimes do this 2 or 3 times just to say one thing#when he does trail off a lot... like this... without much stammering or interruption...#he could be too tired to monitor himself or too comfortable or even when he gets preachy or hostile#he speaks clearer when he's not so concerned about how the other person might interpret what he's saying#(when he doesn't care how they interpret it because he's not trying to please or isn't worried about it etc.)#basically his speech patterns are not due to him being shy or socially inept so much as they are linked to his (often) hyperawareness of#how he is received/perceived#it's very important that he say the right thing and not imply something he doesn't mean to imply#anyway this is why i consider him to have the most complex speech patterns of all my kids lol#even if he's only saying a sentence or two my replies for him usually Look.....longer....because of all this shit he does when he talks...

HEY ARTISTS!
Do you design a lot of characters living in not-modern eras and you’re tired of combing through google for the perfect outfit references? Well I got good news for you kiddo, this website has you covered! Originally @modmad made a post about it, but her link stopped working and I managed to fix it, so here’s a new post. Basically, this is a costume rental website for plays and stage shows and what not, they have outfits for several different decades from medieval to the 1980s. LOOK AT THIS SELECTION:

OPEN ANY CATEGORY AND OH LORDY–

There’s a lot of really specific stuff in here, I design a lot of 1930s characters for my ask blog and with more chapters on the way for the game it belongs to I’m gonna be designing more, and this website is going to be an invaluable reference. I hope this can be useful to my other fellow artists as well! :)

The Psychology of Stabbing
Tumblr media
The way someone murders another person says a lot. In the instance of a knife, it can help gauge the height of a murderer. It can help determine their strength level and build. It can even tell you which hand they used.
But what about psychologically? Does it tell you anything about that? Absolutely.
Stabbings are often personal.
In order to stab someone to death, you have to be in a very close proximity to them. It’s not generally a weapon used in self defense or in professional killings. That’s because stabbing someone requires manually killing the person, it’s a lot more intense than pulling a trigger.
It usually involves a lot of anger.
Stabbings require a lot more strength than you would assume. The number of stab wounds also tells a lot about the killer. And if there is postmortem stabbing as well, it can signify that the killer was close to the victim and had a great amount of rage.
It’s often a crime of passion.
Of course this isn’t always true. But stabbing isn’t the most effective method of murder. If you don’t know where to stab, if you can’t stab deeply enough, and if it’s not the right kind of knife, the victim has a good chance of survival. Of course stabbings are serious and very lethal, but compared to some other methods it’s not as practical and effective. Especially in relatives or spousal murder, it just happens to be the weapon they have laying around.

For artists who have problems with perspective (furniture etc.) in indoor scenes like me - there’s an online programm called roomsketcher where you can design a house/roon and snap pictures of it using different perspectives.
It’s got an almost endless range of furniture, doors, windows, stairs etc and is easy to use. In addition to that, you don’t have to install anything and if you create an account (which is free) you can save and return to your houses.
Examples (all done by me):

Here’s an example for how you can use it
