SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION CONFIRMED 4-COURS!

The official SAO twitter revealed the second PV for the upcoming SAO Alicization anime. The anime will start airing on October 6th, 2018 and it is confirmed to be 4-cours long. In other words, we are looking at about anything between 48 to 56 episodes (give or take a couple). The second PV seems to feature scenes most likely taken from the one hour long first episode. It also gives viewers a sneak peek of the upcoming ending theme Iris by Aoi Eir followed by the opening theme ADAMAS by LiSA.

SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION - NEW KEY VISUAL

Today they revealed a new key visual and a trailer for the anime at AX’s SAO panel. The anime is set to air in October 2018!

The key visual features Kirito (top left corner), Eugeo (bottom right corner), and Alice (center). There is still no mention of exactly how long the anime will run. Given that Alicization is the longest arc in SAO to date (ranging from volume 9 of the light novel all the way to volume 18th), it would be logical to think that they will extend to multiple cours. Only time will be able to give us a proper answer to that. A brand new Japanese website have been made for this adaptation which you can find here.

Additionally, a brand new trailer was shown which features a few new characters from the Alicization arc. Light novel readers get a first peak at Selka, Deusolbert, and Quinella's anime adaptation.

Most of the content from the trailer takes place from the first volume of the arc. There should be a lot of question from non-LN readers but I hope that fellow LN readers will keep the spoilers low. If anyone would like to start reading the light novels, Yen Press has being doing a good job publishing them on a timely manner. There are currently 13 English volumes released with the 14th coming out August 21, 2018!

SAO PROJECT ALICIZATION ANIME ANNOUNCEMENT

Sword Art Online anime Season 3 is now officially announced! Here is a new illustration by abec (SAO’s LN illustrator) showing some new faces from the Project Alicization Arc: Alice (top left), Asuna (top right), Kikuoka (bottom left), Tiese & Ronye (middle right), Young!Alice (bottom right), and of course Kirito & Eugeo in the middle of the illustration. The announcement only states that they have started to work on it with no ETA as of yet. Many fans were already expecting this announcement due to the post-credit scene of SAO Ordinal Scale movie. However, this is the official announcement that everyone was waiting for.

The casting for Alice and Eugeo has already been decided: Alice -- Kayano Ai (Shiro from NGNL, Kasumigaoka Utaha from Saekano) Eugeo -- Shimazaki Nobunaga (Haru from Free!, Izumi Shinichi from Parasite)

Project Alicization is currently the longest arc in the franchise spanning from the 9th volume of the light novels to the 18th volume (with volume 19th as a side story). Here is the synopsis of the arc from Yen Press’ volume 9 release:

Kirito awakens in a vast, fantastical forest filled with towering trees. In his search for clues to the truth of his surroundings, he encounters a young boy who seems to know him. He ought to be a simple NPC, but the depth of his emotions seem no different than a human. As they search for the boy's parents, Kirito finds a peculiar memory returning to him. A memory from his own childhood, of this boy and a girl, too, with golden hair, and a name he should have never forgotten--Alice.

The official Japanese website for SAO have been updated for this new announcement. A simple PV was also shown during the SAO Stage marking the start of the anime work. More news will surely be coming our way. Keep your eyes peeled!

Incoming Big Announcement for SAO

It’s been a while since I last made a post on my Tumblr. In fact, it’s been a very long time. Although I’m not very active in the SAO fandom anymore, I think I should still inform everyone (kind of late) that the SAO Movie will be screening in selected theaters across Canada.

I say “across” Canada because that’s how they worded it. To be honest, only Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Halifax, and Ottawa are getting a screening from March 17th to 19th.

Due to the high demand of the movie, a lot of the time slots are sold out. However, they tried adding some new ones. Please see the links below on where to order your tickets. Hopefully you are able to get the ticket for a time that works for you. If not, there’s a slight chance that they may add more time slot if the current ones keep selling out.

Sword Art Online Progressive -- Volume 03 (Light Novel)

The official English publication of the light novel by Yen Press will be released on October 27, 2015! With this, we are caught up to the Japanese release of SAOP! The 4th volume should be coming out later this Winter in Japan.

I saw your tweet about countering the NozoEli new card post and I have to say I was disappointed with how you handled it. As someone who loves NozoEli & EliUmi and sees them as a sweet ot3 this constant ship wars between both sides has gotten so ridiculous that it's reaching bleach/naruto ship war status. At the end of the day we all know all this is just ship tease right? We shouldn't give the non EliUmi fans more reasons to mock us

First of I will apologize if my tweet upset you in any way. It was not meant to be taken in a serious way. I love every ships in Love Live. That is something you would know if you’ve been following me for long enough on Twitter (or tumblr). I’m very flexible with ships including NozoEli. EliUmi is probably my favourite but I do not object anything that is NozoEli or KotoUmi.

My tweet concerning the new SR Umi card was meant to be a funny reply to an earlier tweet of the SR Nozomi that I retweeted on my twitter. I’m assuming that you saw my SR Umi tweet via the LLSIF wikia twitter? My tweet was not meant to be a retort to their tweets. A friend simply jokingly quoted me in their mention. Nor did she or I intend to offend anyone. I absolutely did not mean to start a shipping war. I do not support them. If you’ve been following me on Tumblr, you would know that I don’t participate in shipping wars. I avoided them like the plague when I was active on this account for SAO.

So really, I understand your concern. I dislike fighting over ships too. This is really just a misunderstanding. The tweet was meant to be something taken lightly. People who follow me know that I didn’t tweet it to start arguments. Unfortunately, it was taken seriously by people I did not know. I literally woke up to all of that unexpected attention and misunderstanding.

So I hope this clears it up. I love all ships. I just have my favorites but I would never part take in shipping wars.

SAO Volume 16: Alicization Exploding - Cover

After a very long wait, the next volume of SAO is finally within sight! Sword Art Online Volume 16 - Alicization Exploding will be released in Japan on August 8th! The cover page features Asuna in her final form!!! Oh and let’s not forget about Kirito in the background. I want to avoid spoiling too many people but if you are interested, you can find the synopsis of volume 16 here.

UPDATES ON POSSIBILITY OF NEW SAO ANIME

Another somewhat news that I’d like to mention in case some of you haven’t heard... The president of A-1 Pictures, Tomonori Ochikoshi, announced during AX2015 that the SAO anime will continue as long as more light novels are being published. In other words, we can somehow confirm that there will be more SAO anime coming our way. When? That we still don’t know. If SAOIII ever comes out, it might take more than 24+ episodes to cover the current arc: Project Alicization (which is in progress from volume 9 to 16...with more to come). Therefore, it is not over yet SAO fans!

While you are waiting, please take some time to read the light novels licensed by Yen Press! Both the main series as well as the Progressive series which focus only on the Aincrad arc! If you are curious as to what happened in between all the floors skipped, then Progressive is the series to read with floor by floor contents.
