hey! i’m back!

it’s been months at least. i forgot about this lmao. but maybe it’s a good thing, i’m back. maybe i’ll pick up my old hobbies of making aesthetics/edits (an amateur, but practice makes perfect, right?)

Xue Yang can go to hell

I don’t think I have ever encountered a more heinous and repulsive character in my life.  A+ villain, but not in a way I can comprehend anyone liking him the way I do a lot of villains. 

He’s a complete, unrepentant psychopath.  No amount of loving candy or sob stories about how he got beat for being naive as a child or faking being charming can make up for how utterly evil he is.   He:

Mass murdered almost an entire clan of people because one member was a complete dick to him one day.

Thought said mass murder still wasn’t equivalent to his lost pinky finger.

Tried to recreate a weak version of the stygian tiger seal - to be able to cause even greater mass murder with an army of corpses.

After being caught by (the flawless, perfect being too good for this world) Xiao XingChen and arrested for said mass murder, managed to trick a power-hungry tyrant in the making into letting him practice more murder on the sly with his tiger seal while everyone thought he was executed.

After getting said tyrant to blackmail the main witness against him from his murder conviction into rescinding his statements to clear his name, he went out and finished slaughtering the remaining members of the clan with lingch: slowing killing someone by slicing away their flesh like deli meat until you get to bone.  (again - over his one severed pinky finger) That is so screwed up.

After getting caught again and escaping execution he was accidentally saved by Xiao XingChen - who was now blind after giving his eyes to his love friend Song Lan after he was blinded by Xue Yang.  After threatening a girl he thought was blind with his sword in a spectacularly creepy serial-killer way, he decided to pretend to be someone else in order to get Xiao XingChen to trust him, so he could trick him into murdering innocent people by cutting out their tongues so they couldn’t speak and Xiao XingChen couldn’t see or hear them begging for their lives, then making it so they had  resentful energy around, and claiming they were fierce corpses whenever he pretended to be Xiao XingChen’s eyes on night hunts.  For YEARS.  Point of no return for me the second this happened.  I usually like villains to a certain degree, but I can not like Xue Yang even a little. 

When Song Lan finally came close to meeting Xiao XingChen after years of the both of them longingly searching for each other after an estrangement they had both immediately regretted, Xue Yang found him first and cut out his tongue and tricked Xiao XingChen into killing him.  Then he turned Song Lan  into a mindlessly obedient fierce corpse slave.  Xue Yang, you complete abomination.  I am all for ship and let ship, but Xue Yang/Xiao XingChen is the hardest FUCKNOPE anti-ship I have ever had

After revealing the truth to Xiao XingChen, who immediately committed suicide in grief as his soul literally shattered (because he came down from a holy mountain with the honest intent to make the world a better place and this was all too traumatizing for his pure heart and soul to handle),  Xue Yang then  collected the pieces of his broken soul to try to restore him so he could turn him into corpse slave like Song Lan.

Then he murdered the sweet girl who’d lived with them all that time, and pretty much an entire town before being caught by Wei WuXian, then killed by Lan Wangji.

I just..omg I hate him so much.
