Imagine being a Sylus girlie and then realizing the gays aren't for it- /j Had to get this outta my head, it was too funny to NOT draw, especially when your OC isn't straight =w=

Wanted to do some light-testing and used a handful of references for this, so I can't take all the credit- But at least I got to draw Aiko in some way to show how handsome he can be... now looking at it, things are starting to irritate me =_=;; I really am my own worst critique..

(Male!OC x Canon LADs) Happy Birthday Caleb [Juneleb]

Another dark and gloomy time away for Caleb- be it work or whatever the case, it was time wasted in his books to be away from the one person that mattered the very most to him...

His chair creaked under the weight of his body as he sat back in it, vibrant violet hues focused entirely on the silver tag and pendant to the gifted necklace that he kept constantly around his neck for not only guidance and strength- but almost like protection. A talisman that would always guide him to safety... Just to be with her again... Caleb's mind was entirely in a trance in his mental meditation, everything around the pendant blurred in his vision as he focused on the shimmering silver metal with the elegant cursive engraving "When U Come Back", the small little apple-shaped charm beside it with its glistening little red jewel in the center. He hardly heard the set of foot-steps that entered his office, only when he felt a minor vibration on his desk did he lower the necklace down and tucked it away carefully into the confines of his uniform. "You know there's a such thing as knocking-" He cut himself off when he saw that it was a familiar hunter- one that had worked closely beside his beloved MC. He knew this man.. "Aiko.." A young man, no older than Caleb himself, stood in front of his desk, wearing the typical hunter uniform. His ravenette locks were styled in an undercut, his bangs slightly swiped to the side and curtaining around the long lashes of his bright amber eyes. His toned build looked nearly restrained behind the belts that clasped over his shoulders and chest, his sleeves rolled and arms tucked behind his back as he straightened his posture in front of the Colonel. His gaze sparkled with mild amusement, unable to stop his lips from curving into a small and knowing smile.

He and Caleb had their brush in the past when it came to the MC, but after realizing there was hardly any threat, their bond straightened out to something more of an amusing friendship.

"I did knock.. about three or four times, but you didn't respond. So, I simply let myself in," Aiko spoke softly, his gaze dropping down to the slight peak of the silver chain linked to the necklace the Colonel had been admiring only moments ago. As their gaze locked for more than needed, Aiko gave the subtle hint of lowering his own down to Caleb's desk, the Colonel following suit as he spotted what appeared to be a bright red apple-shaped dessert placed in front of him. The plastic container had a clear top to showcase what was inside, velvet red and purple ribbon tied around the sides and made into a neat bow atop.

Aiko couldn't resist beaming more proudly as he watched Caleb's eyes widen a little, leaving the Colonel speechless. It was a simple and classic little dessert, certainly not something needed, but purchased out of thoughtfulness and consideration. While remaining oblivious, the Colonel would never truly know just how much it meant to Aiko to see the surprise slowly melt into something more warm, seeing his lips curve into a genuine smile as he finally processed the hunter's kind little token.

Although- Aiko knew this would hardly compare to whatever it was him and the MC did the night of.. nothing would ever compare to her gifts to Caleb...

Within this one-sided admiration- Aiko was more than willing to accept and respect that. He knew just how much the MC meant to him, and certainly would never try to wedge or make his place there between the two of them.

However- that didn't stop him from feeling a little victorious and prideful for what he did.

"...you didn't need to go out of your way to do this, you know-" Caleb began, but Aiko quickly held his hand up and shook his head, stopping the Colonel in his tracks of words. That resulted in a pout that only made the hunter chuckle fondly.

"I know I didn't," Aiko stated softly, his gaze softening as he took in Caleb's visible response and expression, ".. but I'm glad that I did. A birthday is meant to be celebrated, and I'd much rather show my gratitude for you being brought into this world. As.. cheesy as that sounds.."

Crap- was that cheesy? Did that sound like flirting? That wasn't at all Aiko's intentions. He was trying his best to show pure consideration and care towards Caleb, not flaunt his suppressed crush. The immediate sight of Aiko overthinking only made Caleb laugh out softly.

"It's fine- I get what you're saying. I appreciate the thought behind it.." His reassurance made Aiko's shoulders slowly relax, followed by a sigh of relief. Good- at least he wasn't getting the wrong idea. He didn't need Caleb knowing about his true feelings either. As the Colonel went to open the dessert and enjoy it for himself, he noticed Aiko turning away and preparing to leave, "You're not going to stick around and see if I'll like it?"

Aiko quickly shook his head, managing a small smile, "I feel I've stuck around longer than necessary. You seemed busy.. so enjoy your treat. Happy birthday, Colonel.."

Before much else could be said, Aiko quietly excused and ducked himself out of the office, carefully closing the door behind him. His entire body slumped as the tension visibly left him, followed by a dull ache in his chest. Longing? Guilt..?

Probably guilt...

Mostly for the fact that he harbored romantic feelings towards a man that was more than off-limits, and clearly would never look or consider Aiko in such a light. But, in the same breath, that was fine. He'd much rather treasure a friendship and respect a relationship more than consider his own selfish desires. If this was as close as he would get to Caleb-

So be it.

With one final deep breath in, followed by a steady exhale, Aiko straightened himself out and took his leave from Caleb's office, deciding to head out and do what was necessary in his line of work as a hunter. He was unaware about Caleb's pleasures in enjoying the sweet and delightful apple-like dessert that was gifted to him. As long as he was having a good birthday on his special day...

That was all that truly mattered to Aiko.
