Power to the King - Official Beginning

Cuphead was bound in his bed. He wasn't talking. He wasn't moving. Just staring out into the horizon through the hospital window with his one good eye. The other eye was hidden beneath hair and bloody bandages. He couldn't cry. He couldn't speak. He couldn't feel anything. Nothing at all.

Mugman watched him closely from a chair beside the bed. Cuphead's breathing was still. But he was breathing. He never slept, not once. Mugman stared at him. He didn't mean to do it. He didn't mean to. He didn't even do it. He was forced. He had tried to take the parts. The gruesome crack that echoed through the streets that eerie dawn. The setting was like that of a liminal space. Mugman's mind raced.

Bendy Bbro-Cat.

The near murderer of Mugman's dear brother. The pain of having no control. The pain of shadows digging into his arms as he was forced to shoot. To shoot his brother in the head. The others weren't quick enough to stop it.

Stop. That all felt like a far memory now, but not with the slow recovery.

The time of the machine being built then powered on.

The horrible screech that echoed from his brother until he fell to his knees and went limp. That's when he stopped talking. That day haunted Mugman. The desperate scream of pain from his brother haunted Mugman. He felt so incredibly sick.

Why did this have to happen? Why did everything have to be this way? Mugman stood and exited the room before he could start crying. He headed out of the hospital. One day his brother will be fine.

Mugman glared down at his feet as he walked back to the house. His legs were as heavy as lead and felt as if they refused to hold his weight. But he pushed on. He had to.

Soon, Mugman arrived home. He headed inside to everyone eating dinner. Mugman smiled at the sight of his wife—Cala Maria. Eyes as deep as the ocean, glittering like the waves of the water in the sun.

A sharp pain shot through Mugman's head. Mugman froze and gripped the back of the couch. His mind raced. He gripped his head. So overwhelmed.

He felt so overwhelmed.

Understanding and any information that one would dream of having shot through his mind. Stop! Quit! Why… Why was this happening to him? He bit his lip until it bled, trying to muffle a scream of agony. He gripped his head. It hurt! it hurt! It made him want to rip his head apart. But then It calmed. He… could control it.

He stood straight and headed to the table. He sat down. It seemed there was some tension at the table. Cala was about to question the bleeding cut on his lip but Holly stood and yelled at Felix.

“NO! You fucking monster, I'm not stupid. I know you did it. I know you did! You AND Oswald killed him! You… THAT WAS MASSACRE! What would they do if they caught you!?” Holly cried out desperately. “YOU KILLED EVERYONE AT THAT ADOPTION AGENCY! You even murdered everyone in Paradise Hills!”

Felix stood and his glare silenced her. Not for a normal reason, no. It was because his eyes were glowing yellow. The feeling of bloodlust filled the room.

“SHUT UP! What the hell happened isn't any of your business! That is strictly to me and Oswald. WE will handle it! Not you!” Felix growled. His face twisted in an aggressive snarl. Felix had never…

“Dad!” Boris and Bendy cried out and Felix's eerie glare snapped to them. He calmed, his face softening into something apologetic. The glow from his eyes disappeared. Mugman, through the corner of his eye, caught something else fade. There was an ink machine rune engraved on his tail. He didn't comment on it.

Bendy spoke up. “Your eyes. They were glowing.” Felix froze at that.

“They were… what?” Felix's ears fell and he dashed out the front door. Everyone called out to him in alarm, but he ignored them. Bendy went after him.

Cala finally got to ask her question. “Mugman! Your lip is bleeding! What happened?!” She asked with concern in her big, beautiful eyes. Lying eyes. Wait. What? What was his mind doing!? Oh no, he couldn't handle having the rush happen again!

Cheater.

Liar.

Disgusting fish.

Cheater… with 20 other men? They'd only been dating for three months! No! His mind was lying! No, he refused to believe it! Mugman glared at her. “Did you cheat on me? With twenty other men?” He asked without thinking. His mind speaking for itself.

“I-" Cala's eyes widened. She seemed to freeze. Other toons at the table gasped at the question and her reaction. “NO! No! Not at all! Why would I do such a thing!?”

Liar.

Mugman stood and walked off to his room. He wasn't hungry anyway. He fell onto his bed. Why did his life have to be such a way? He didn't need this! He was free… so why was everything still hell?
