I can't wait to get my hands on these two. I want to build a Mardu-deck with them and my all-time favorite card will do wonders in this deck:
Tumblr media
Since the War Doctor will see every card that gets exiled with P-Storm, he will get a lot of time counters in just one turn cycle. And P-Storm is great for protecting him from removal :>
And of course, I'm going to add more spells with Cascade and other cards with that "exile until" clause.

They are, but they can’t have a Doctor’s companion, if you try to build a deck with a Legendary Creature with Changeling!
Obviously, the Doctor Who reveals are very exciting, but the thing I'm most excited about is the triumphant return of the classic creature type 'Lord'! Would I perhaps be able to get a maybe on the lord creature type appearing on a "lord" creature in the future, just to really round out this momentous occasion?
The creature type Lord didn’t return. Time Lord is a two word creature type.

Can't wait for the card. Will it be an Instant or a Sorcery?

Apparently, BBC insisted on The Doctor being a “Time Lord” and not a “Time-Lord”. So they had to make Time Lord the first two-word creature type in MtG.

Doctor Who previews from SDCC! All of these look great, and I’m super excited for Doctor Who in my MTG.
One complaint: why is The Doctor’s creature type “Time Lord Doctor”? Since Time Lord is two different words, is Time a creature type now? TARDIS seems to be treating “Time Lord” as one creature type and not two, so I really don’t know what’s going on rules-wise. That just seems weird. A hyphen would go a long way is all I’m saying.
Complaint over.
Now we just need BBC Sherlock and Supernatural in MTG so we can build a SuperWhoLock deck……….

So, I’m building a Zask, Skittering Swarmlord deck
Tumblr media
and I came across this card that I’d consider a hidden gem in the deck:

I love cards like this that are usually useless in EDH except in some very niche cases <3

Do you know that feeling when you want to build an interesting new deck and just have no idea where to start?
Right now, after building Yurlok Enchantress (I know, odd choice, but pretty fun), I want to build Ayesha Tanaka. I just have no idea in which direction I want to build her. Banding is a fun mechanic and I really want to abuse it, with creatures like Stuffy Doll, Tolarian Entrancer, Saprazzan Heir etc.
Tolarian Entrancer also gave me the idea to include even more theft effects, like Willbreaker.
All in all, the list feels pretty wonky right now, and I still don’t know if I want to keep it that way or if I want to go a completely different route...

You would need at least one more card to remove either the Enchanted Evening or Ajani’s Chosen in response to the trigger, or the game will end in a draw. But a draw is fun as well :D

I wanted to build a Commander deck with only Commons and Uncommons for a while now and this new Legend was the perfect choice for it in my opinion. Can’t wait to see the showcase version, I hope it will look even cooler!

Why can't EDH and cEDH coexist peacefully? No need to call people assholes for things they enjoy.
I enjoy both, Casual EDH and the more competitive cEDH approach, but I also feel like EDH should still be considered the big flashy fun stuff format, where the games are just beginning to get interesting with 6 CMC or higher spells. The problem is, how do you communicate that to your playgroup, without banning every single card you think is too powerful or harmful for that big splashy fun format?
That probably is a downside of having so many new people coming to EDH (myself included, as I started only a few years ago) and with resources like EDHRec at hand to build the most optimal deck possible, because there is that one player who only plays optimal builds and you don't want to lose to them constantly.
But personally I still enjoy building decks from cards that I already own, like "real" kitchen table EDH, but yeah, I also enjoy playing highest power decks.
When playing EDH, I play for fun. Winning is not as important.
When playing cEDH I want to win, but I still want to have fun.
So, when you say cEDH shouldn't exist, what is it you want to be gone? The competitive mindset? Good luck taking that away from human beings. The broken cards? But EDH players use them as well.
EDH and cEDH are literally the same format, they use the same banlist and rules. The only differences are the powerlevel (and a discussion about that is really annoying, because your 5 might be a 7 in another group; it's very subjective and can't really be measured) and sometimes the mindset. But I have met EDH players who played to win, so they optimized their decks, but not to the point where it would be considered cEDH, because they mostly left win-combos out of their deck. But it wasn't fun to play against them with casual EDH-decks either and in the end the best decision for me was to leave their play group because the mindset of said player differed so much from my own.
I don't know which bad experiences you made with high power or cEDH players, but if there is someone in your play group you have a problem with, try to talk to them about it, and if that doesn't help, leave the group for the better.
cEDH won't stop existing just because you call its players assholes.
On today’s episode of 4 notes tops: I am so sad about the trend in commander toward cards with lower CMC such to the point that 6 is now considered a bit much. Like in every. Other. Format. And like with the CMC thing is just this general vibe of optimization and arms racing that makes it feel like people have really lost the fucking plot of what makes commander unique and fun. Also this is a kinda unpopular opinion far as I’ve seen but I think CEDH is a terrible thing that should not exist. Commander is the one thing, the one fucking thing that casual players get to have outside of kitchen table play. If you want a competitive metagame go literally anywhere else you fucking assholes.
