I really wish they never gave us the Mel and Jayce romance if they were gonna treat her like the disposable black girlfriend

"It took him having sex with Mel to know he loves Viktor" so black women can only be desired for sex but never be loved lol this whole team reeks with anti-blackness
And saying "Jayce dips" when that man goes back to Mel the very next day to lay his head her lap and tell her "Nothing feels impossible when I'm with you."
Just saw that very fucking disgusting video featuring 2 Arcane animators talking about Mel and Jayce's relationship. I really hate how they snuck that fanfic ship into the last Act and the complete nasty way they talked about Mel's character truly is pissing me the fuck off. I couldn't enjoy Jayvik as gay man even if it was my ship(it isn't)with how dirty Mel was done as the disposable black girl. Those motherfuckers better not be anywhere near her spin-off show about Noxus.

Being on the trenches was all for nothing. I should have known Mel's biggest hater was Riot itself

Jayce "Nothing feels impossible when I'm with you" Talis, going to blame Mel for not being in control of powers she didn't know how to use and saying she was using him the whole time (not true
Meanwhile, Viktor also joined Jayce for his goals at first (not that it's a bad thing) and is the reason why Jayce started hextech and also used him for his goals across timelines but doesn't get any ire thrown at him by the same Jayce

The treatment of the black main characters in s2 is so weird. Making Mel and Ekko fit the "Magical Negro" trope where they're the saviors of the day, only to make them end up alone and lost by the end

Like when we talk about Mel being manipulative, let’s talk about how that shows up. First time we see it in action is when she gives Holsk the child’s toy and tells him it’s a sophisticated puzzle. She cashes that chip in later in that meeting, to push Holsk to vote not to exile Jayce.
And let’s look at when that move comes. It doesn’t happen because Jayce is offering HexTech. Mel tells them when they’re sneaking in that she knows what they have works. But back then, she’s going along with the Council’s momentum to exile him anyway. What stops her is Jayce’s mother. When Mel, who was exiled by her mother for being so different than what Noxus asks her to be, sees a mother stand up to the council begging for them to not to cast out her black sheep of a son, that’s when she manipulates Holsk.
Anyway yes, Mel manipulates people. So does Vi, so does Jayce, so do most of the characters in the show at some point or another. Mel never does so in the show for her own personal gain, always in—sometimes very misguided—attempts to protect others. And I wonder sometimes if the word we’d use for Mel’s skill with people and politics would be “manipulative” if she were white/male/not in the way of the big mslash ship.

i lied put your clothes back on let me explain to you why ambessa is heavily praised and thirsted over but mel isnt and degraded cause white people esp white queers view black women in a lens of masculinity esp in "queer media" and hate when they are shown to be anything other than masculine and mean because that contradicts the mindset and stereotypical way they view actual black women in real life we cannot be classy and smart or anything that contradicts the stereotype to white people and that shows in fictions and fandoms how you people can deep dive and "understand" how characters like vi and cait are morally gray and love them anyway and shield them critiques but tear characters like mel to spreads
