23 Days Until Take-Off.
Well, folks, we are at t-23 days until take-off to Barcelona. Some of our updates since the last time I posted:
- We sold our home! Yay. Our home sold within 24 hours of being on the market, which saved us a lot of time and stress worrying about what we would do if it did not sell. That said, selling the first home we ever bought was more emotional than I thought it would be. “It’s just a place,” I told myself. A place to house things. A cement structure with a door we would walk through multiple times a day to reach the place we would lie our heads at night. That is all. But turns out that four walls can hold more than just physical things - the mental and emotional things, the memories and experiences, and tears and growth and love were housed within those walls too. Oh, well. Onwards to a new adventure inside of four new walls - these new walls will house adventure, challenges, hope, and two Americans who barely speak any Spanish just trying to get by in a new country.
- I graduated! From graduate school! With my Master of Science degree! In Cybersecurity! Double yay. The program I was in usually takes about three years to complete, but I was able to finish in a year and a half. While working full time. Woot. I’m not 100% sure the degree is necessary to further my career in Cybersecurity, but I certainly feel more wholesome about myself in that I checked off a life goal I always wanted to check off. So that’s good news.
- We moved in with Josh’s (my husband’s) father and step-mother. They’re awesome, and we are thankful to get to spend some even more awesome quality time with them before flying out. They’ll be meeting us in Paris next March, so we’re super stoked to have that on the calendar.
- Bella is still cute as ever. No changes here.
- My Spanish has not progressed nearly as well as I was hoping it would since last month. Perhaps I should do a review on the program I am using - Babbel - so that others can read about my thoughts/experience before purchasing. I’m not 100% convinced that it is worth it, but I still have a month remaining in the program, so I’ll stick it out.
Sorry for being boring. Life is hectic, but it is fun. If you want to get to see a whole bunch of people you love dearly and consider to be integral to your existence - move continents! You’ll be busy all the time, and you’ll be the happiest human on the planet.
Until next time, Meg

Hola, Amigo!
I'm currently coming to you live from St. Petersburg, Florida - but in less than 2 months I'll be traversing the Atlantic Ocean to trade in the year-round heatwaves and palm trees of Florida for tapas and the occasional bocadillo (go Google this word, don't be lazy!) in Spain.
All you need to know about me, for now:
I have a dog named Bella - she's kinda sorta the best thing since sliced bread. She's coming with my husband, Josh, and I to Spain.
Josh has never been to Europe; I had not stepped foot on the continent either until about 8 months ago. I have since made 2 trips to Europe, exploring both Germany and Spain.
I cannot - and this is important! - for the life of me, speak Spanish. It's a thing that I wish was not a thing.
Josh and I are indefinitely moving to Spain - I will have a "highly skilled professional" visa which allots Josh the ability to work within Spain so long as I am.
I'm beyond excited for this move, and I plan to take anyone who's willing to read/listen along with me. You can expect the below from me over the coming months/years:
Tons of photos not limited to Bella (the dog), travel, food, anything and everything that appears to be unusual or majestic.
Detailed overviews of our journey moving to Spain (as well as an account of how freaking hard it's going to be moving Bella to Spain [she's a 45 pound Australian Shepherd, so it's not like we're talking "carry your doggo in a bag on your shoulder" type]).
Updates on my life. Not that you'll find them interesting, but they'll be here.
Travel blogs! We intend to travel as often as possible, as far away as we can get, and to any place that presents an opportunity to learn and grow.
So stay tuned for the journey - I'm stoked. Bella's stoked. Hope you are too.
