Allowing
We tend to control life so that we are in control.  It is good to allow life to flow in and decide its flow and direction it wants to take.   Allowing is also a new skill, which in turn may create internal peace rather than living with a feeling of unsettling.  Just a perspective

Is recession real?
‘The Covid-19 pandemic hit the global economy hard. And even as the economy struggled hard to recover from this, the Russia-Ukraine war arrived as another great setback. These two factors combined are expected to push the global economy into recession next year. And India is not immune.
Some of the impacts include
Major output loss in 2023
Rising interest rates to arrest inflation
Mounting public debt
Weakening currencies
Costly food and fuel
Refer to the detailed article by India today
https://www.indiatoday.in/diu/story/global-recession-2023-how-it-affects-india-detail-2284356-2022-10-12
What are some of other facts that is causing concern
The services sectors lost 7.9 million jobs in October 2022. Of these, 4.6 million losses were incurred in rural India and 3.3 million were in urban India. There is a concentration of the job losses in the services sector in rural retail trade. Retail trade is the largest employer among the services industries
As startups in India keep firing their staff to navigate through the funding winter, India may see more than 60,000 job losses in 2022 alone, led by edtech and e-commerce platforms, according to an IANS report.

The unemployment rate shot up to 8.3 per cent, which was the highest compared to the rates in the past 12 months. This rise in the unemployment rate reflects the inability of the economy to provide adequate jobs at a time when the demand for jobs from people increased.

How to deal with feeling low on certain days
Some days suddenly look gloomy and you start feeling sad, for no obvious reason.  Your head will not be able to understand the reason exactly. If you break that down logically in the mind, it appears strange, why you are feeling so low.    However, at times your heart knows better than the mind. It can perceive faster than the mind can comprehend. Unless you reflect on the reasons you will be in that state which leads to more confusion in life.
Few suggestions which could help.
 01.   Please search for the trigger that is making you feel sad or low.
02.   Better to write down the reasons on a piece of paper.
03.   Differentiate the actual trigger vs. the story you are telling yourself.  For example. Your boss would have said certain things in a little louder tone. Saying why is it pending for such a long time for an assigned work to you.   You may be busy creating a story around that, my boss feels I am not good or he is feeling let down or he is disappointed with my performance, etc etc.  The actual reason could be his manager would have pulled him up on the same matter a little while ago and he is just out of that conversation and poured it on to you. However, you may be busy creating your own story around that.
04.   Sometimes it can be a colleague trying to express his or her dissatisfaction about the work that was delivered by you.  However, watch out for what story you are creating around that.  Distinguish what is the actual situation vs. your story behind that.  Stop your story, and try to stick to the fact that is being told
05.   Try to see things objectively, if there is merit in what is being told, accept it, and try to work on your areas.  If your story is making you feel sadder.  Then you need to watch out whether the story you are creating around the incident is linked to your past situation where you have your perception.  Maybe if you are having a low opinion of yourself, you need to work on that.
06.   Suppose someone is generally trying to harass or pass unthoughtful comments.  You need to learn to ignore it.
07.   Also, check 3 things.   Try to change the situation if it is under your direct control, check the situation is under indirect control, then try to influence the concerned person to achieve the desired change, if you have no control over the situation, please try to make peace with the situation.
08.   Also, check most of your conversations with yourself are positive or negative.  If most of your self-conversations are negative, then the fault lies with you and not with anyone else.
09.   In any situation, you can have a positive or negative response.  The choice of responding to the situation always lies with you. It depends on how you process the transactions.
10.   It is highly recommended that you try to have more empowering thoughts rather than finding yourself as a victim that makes you immobile and feel bad about yourself.
11.   How you feel about yourself is completely your responsibility, does not lie with anyone else.   Hence take responsibility for your thoughts, emotions, and the way you react to things.

Focus and narrow it down to achieve results.
At times we are overwhelmed with too much work.   This gives us a feeling of importance and at the same time, we are overwhelmed with many tasks, not getting completed.   Some people tend to show off that they are busy with too many things.  After some time it builds frustrations internally as most of the jobs remain pending and unfinished.   It may lead to burnout issues and reach a state of keeping many things pending and we tend to believe that is how organization function.  We start blaming the situations we are in, our managers, or the organization.  We come home exhausted with no sense of pride, living under constant stress and we may even feel our working conditions are not so conducive for us to succeed
However, if you want to achieve great results, a few of the steps may be helpful
01     Focus on the task that matters to you the most in a given day, week, month, or year using 80/20 principles
02     The 80/20 principle says, to focus on your 20% of efforts that can give you 80% results.   In other words, prioritize your tasks and narrow them down to the minimum 20% that matters the most.
03     Focus on doing a few things well, rather than focusing on doing everything.
04     Keep that 20% that matters most and come up with a strategy for how it can be delivered well and on time
05     Allocate the jobs between you and others, who is the best person to do this job well?
06     The rest of the jobs simply delegate and allow people to work on it.  In other words, you devote maximum time to deliver 20% of the task that gives you maximum results to your role/dept/organization as the case may be.
07     Review end of the day what is your achievement in a given day,
08     Make an observation, of how well you could have delivered the job better.
09     Use creative ways to deliver the job and be open to as many options as possible.
10     Review your daily performance, weekly performance, and monthly performance, please record it
11     Check actual results achieved vs. your target or your potential to achieve.
12     Check your efficiency levels, are you working at your 20%, 30%, or working at 100% efficiency levels
13     Work towards delivering work smartly, rather than working harder
14     It is not the number of hours you work; it is the effective usage of time to deliver results well.
15     Hence it Is never a question of working long hours or harder, it has to go with narrowing with absolute focus and achieving the tasks that have the maximum impact on your results.
16     Finally, it is about DELIVERING FEW OF THE WORKS WELL, RATHER THAN TRYING TO COMPLETE ALL THE TASKS.  It can never be achieved.
17     Winners never strive to achieve everything.  They focus on achieving a few things that matter the most well.

Applying the law of wasted efforts
Scientists have found that animals, trees, and other forces of nature are more receptive to the law of “wasted efforts”. Only humans think that the lack of success in a few attempts is a failure, but the truth is that we only fail when we stop trying
Do you know lions only succeed in a quarter of their hunting attempts? This means they fail in 75% of their attempts and succeed only in 25%. Despite this small percentage shared by most predators, they don't despair in their pursuit and hunting attempts.
This is not a new law. However, when I read it the first time, I was very much fascinated something like that exists.
The key lies in its application.  Few challenges we face regularly, and we tend to give up on our efforts at a very early stage
 01.   When someone loses a job, they will apply regularly, and enthusiastically and later give up and move to inertia.  Thinking they won’t get a job in the future.    It leads to negative thinking and inaction
02.  When you are trying to reach out for Sales, several of our efforts do not give results, over a period we give up and our efforts slow down and we move to inaction or stop trying
03.  If you are planning to find a life partner, you may try both a love marriage or arranged one, however over a period you give up, thinking no one is interested in you.
04.  If you are planning to go abroad, after a few attempts when no results come, there is a tendency to give up
05.  Losing weight is another good example, after trying for a few days or months.  When there is no weight reduction, there is a tendency to give up efforts of trying to lose weight
The list goes on and on.
During this phase, we need to remind ourselves about the law of wasted efforts.  Our chances of success may be only 25% out of 100%.   We should never stop trying till we succeed.
During the early stage of the covid period, we anticipated that we would have a lesser business. So, we aggressively started scouting for the business.  It was very tough to get even a reply or acknowledgment.  We had reached out close to 1500-2000 people to get less than 5 leads for a probable new business, out of which we were able to convert one strong business and it gave us work for nearly one year.    We anticipated that there will very few replies and we wanted to survive during the covid period and kept on trying.  We did have discouraging moments, where in nearly 1995 people did not reply to us or acknowledged our effort.  As a team, we kept encouraging each other and kept on going.  Finally, we succeeded.   Thanks to my colleagues who kept on trying till such time results came our way.
When we look back and refer to the law of wasted efforts, we were quite a in sync with this law.  That is how I interpret the situation.  Since we were in sync with the situation results came our way.

Filling up the emptiness that surfaces from time to time
When we are caught up with our day-to-day demands of professional life, catering to family needs, and chasing our dreams and goals in life, we may suddenly feel a growing feeling of emptiness within.  To fill the emptiness we may try several things like developing new hobbies, traveling to places, watching different movies online, and bringing new people into life still this feeling of emptiness sometimes remains despite bringing so many varieties into life.  When I reflected on it a few times, one of the things I realized is, there is a greater need within us to make a difference to people around us, which can probably give us joy.   Something that we may want to cater to beyond us.   It paves thoughts to giving back to society or touching lives around us.  It is good to have a plan every month to consciously attempt to do an act of selflessness.  Some of those things can be
 01.   Donating money to the needy through verified sources/ sites you trust.   This can be the monthly plan.  Set a goal towards giving every month, and year, and how you can increase every year.
02.   Giving your time to doing something selfless acts like helping someone in the family, friend’s circle, or people whom you know consciously.
03.   Visiting a few orphanages, NGO centers, etc that help us to see how people are deprived of the basic benefits we enjoy.  Trying to do something possible.
04.   Inviting family, and friends to the such initiative and generating momentum
05.   How to help the underprivileged to get jobs, in your professional circle.
06.   Doing an act of kindness regularly can recharge our batteries and may try to remove the emptiness we suffer.
I have personally seen, this helps us to solve this emptiness and we start feeling good and healed from within.
Through this act, I have realized we are not doing it for others. I think we need it for ourselves.

Reacting vs. suppressing
Reacting to every situation based on impulse helps the person to empty their mind and unburden themselves from within.  In the process of reacting, it may jeopardize or strain many relationships around the person.  It may however help the person to relieve one’s internal stress and may feel lighter from within.  Consequences:  relief to the person reacting and the person who is the receiver of this message may feel the strain more
On the other hand, the person who suppresses his or her feelings/thoughts may bottle up issues from within and start suffering internally.  This may lead to issues like anxiety disorders, anger management issues, and hypertensive issues to name a few.
Each person has to strike a balance between the two.  Neither one should be overreacting nor one should suppress his or her feelings and thoughts. Some suggestions for this
01.  Never carry the issues to the next day, as much as possible try to close the issues on the same day and never carry them forward to the next day
02.  Have a Zero-base approach to start every day fresh
03.   It is good to create supportive friends with whom you can share things almost daily. Ideally, a spouse or a partner will be a good pick
04.  If you find someone suppressing, engage them and create a trusting environment wherein they are encouraged to talk regularly
05.  An impulsive person can keep the 80/20 approach.  Where in if he or she manages 20% of their impulses, 80% of the lives issues will be solved.
06.  Destressing oneself through exercises, listening to music, yoga, meditation, long drive, spending time with nature, etc. might help someone to destress oneself regularly
07.  Just reminding oneself we are bigger than the situation itself, helps us to look at issues itself in a day to day learning rather than a problem

Election in Karnataka 2018
It has been quite intense fight between Congress and BJP.  Appear that JDS will have more say this time.
My gut feel says BJP may score between 100 to 110 , JDU is around 30-40 seats and Congress may get 70 to 90 seats.  Very close and intense fight.
