Johnny Cade Headcanons!♡

(What it’d be like dating Johnny ◡̈; first post so sorry if I sound dumb lol..)

You guys meet through Ponyboy who you’ve been friends with for a while, and during lunch you go up to Ponyboy to ask him if he’s seen a mutual friend of both of yours. Now that you are engaged in the conversation, from the corner of your eye you notice Johnny looking at you. He’d be a little more on the quiet side at first, but being interested in you he tries to take any opportunity to talk to you and slightly smiles at certain things you say even though he doesn’t notice it (cutie)

Fast forward later that day during passing periods, you bump into Johnny and get caught up in a conversation with him. Before you leave to class he speaks up:

“Me and Pony are goin’ to the movie playin’ tonight, if you’d like to come along”

“Oh sure” you reply smiling

He smiles and responds “Alright, I’ll see ya there”

As he walks to his class, hes upset with himself because he can’t get to ask you out, he’d ask Dally for help but we all know hes no good with girls.. later he asks you to go to the cafe with him and there you two have your first date! Well he’d like to think of it that way, at this point I think we’d be somewhat aware he has something for you ;)

Anyway, the relationship would be sort of slow. Or thats the way it’d be if it was up to Johnny, he’s just like that yk? Mainly because he’s sort of a shy dude. Tiny gestures, buying you food when he can, gifting you flowers because he figured girls like those. Anything that he thinks seems to be what every girl would want (that he can afford anyway), he’ll get for you. He’ll ask what your favorite things are too, and get those for you. The little things matter!! Especially because he can’t do much because of the lack of money.

Also because of the lack of money, the main form of affection would be quality time. Hanging out in school, movie nights at the drive in movie theater, hanging out at the cafe, even hanging out with Ponyboy but nonetheless just spending time with you is good enough for him.

I feel like he lowkey craves physical affection, mainly because of his situation at home.. hes kinda touch starved. He wouldn’t be the one to do much first though, you’d definitely have to be the one who’d have to in order for him to get more comfortable doing it. He’s shy but he’s not,, if that makes sense. Thats just how Johnny is ◡̈

You’d probably have to kiss him first, well it depends on the situation (>з•)

¡two examples!

You and Johnny had been dating for 3 months now, you’ve been on several dates, hang out a lot, surely you guys have kissed by now right? WRONG!! But its not like it really bothers you, the right time will come 🙂‍↕️ Johnny though, he’s still figuring out when, where, and how he’ll kiss you.

This dating stuff is a little complicated he ain’t gonna lie, especially because you’re his first girlfriend (another headcanon! this might just be canon though🌚) Dally has definitely teased Johnny a little for having been dating you for all this time and yet he still doesn’t have the balls to kiss you lmao.

“Still not gon’ kiss ’er yet, huh Johnnycake?”

“Shut your trap Dal. I’m waiting for the right moment.”

Moving on, you guys were walking home from a date at the local Drive-In theater when you decided to sit down in a bench at a nearby park, just to talk to Johnny for a little longer.

“How’d ya like the movie?” Johnny asks you with a small smile on his face

“I loved it!” you reply back with a pearly white smile.

“Yeah?” Johnny’s looking into your eyes with that same soft smile

“Yes! I thought the plot was well thought out and I would’ve never expected the ending but there were so many times where it was just-” you stop talking and just smile looking up at the clear navy blue sky, not noticing the way Johnny is admiring you.

“Its nice y’know? This, the movie.. being with you.” You turn to look at Johnny and as soon as you do he leans in to kiss you!

You’re caught off guard but lean back into the kiss once he pulls away. Once you both pull away you both smile at each other and walk home together, a dumb smile plastered on both of your faces from the kiss That kiss replayed in both of your guys’s head for a while tho（≧∇≦）

Example 2:

So we sort of know Johnny’s situation at home. It was one of those nights again where his dad got aggressive. The first thing he thought to do was to get out of the house when he got the chance. Usually he finds a place to sleep outside but tonight he thought of you. He felt safe around you even though he wasn’t fully aware to what end.

You were doing homework in the living room when you hear a knock.

Coincidentally, your parents had been out on vacae and you decided not to go, so you were left up to check on the door. You look through the peephole to see.. Johnny? Seeing the condition he was in, you didn’t hesitate to open the door.

“Oh my God Johnny what happened to you?”

“My old mans’ drunk again” He replies as you guide him to sit on the couch.

“Oh Johnny. Stay here I’ll be a minute” You quickly get up to get the first aid kit and a damp cloth

It upsetted you that you couldn’t do anything about it. You were quite quiet while you cleaned up his face and disinfected his scars as Johnny also kept quiet.

“How much longer will you be able to keep up with this” you ask, a serious expression on your face. Johnny can hear a tint of sadness in your voice

“Soon as I’m old enough I’ll get the hell outta here”

You feel tears form in your eyes, you try your best to stop yourself from crying but soon enough the tears flow down your cheeks. You couldn’t bear to know and see what Johnny is going through. I mean, just who could bear to see their loved one like that?

Johnny notices you don’t respond and turns to look at you, immediately a concerned expression forms on his face

“What’s wrong? You’ll come with me if that’s what you’re worried about” he tries to comfort you, oblivious to the reason as to why you’re crying

“It’s not that Johnny.” You say in a teary voice as you look down, embarrassed to look at him.

“I wish I could help. If I could I would.”

“You help me enough y/n” he says

“You’re lucky my parents aren’t home for the night, otherwise they’d kill me. I wouldn’t care anyway, but if this happens again, let me know and I’ll sleep at the park with you.” you smile at him and he smiles back.

You the lean in to kiss him. He leans more into this kiss and cups your face when you do the same. The kiss lasts a little while and you both don’t want to pull away until eventually you do. That night you both slept in your bed, your bodies so close to each other yet you still felt that you needed him closer even though it was physically impossible ╥﹏╥

ANYWAYSS more on the kissy kissy headcanons he usually doesn’t pull away until you do. He loves the feeling of your lips but won’t often ask or kiss you first because he doesn’t want to annoy you 🥲

you guys make out at any given opportunity ¬‿¬ in private though he considers those an intimate moment and you’d probably be the one to start it because manz is lowkey SHYYY

OKAY OKAY I REALLY HEART THIS HEADCANON SO

For a long while of his life Johnny felt that he wasn’t good for anything, and when he became a Greaser he felt that that was all there was to him. Nothing but a filthy greaser and he learned to accept it.

After meeting you though, one night that you’re both sleeping at the park, Johnny tells you he doesn’t want to be known only as a ‘filthy greaser' all his life. He wants to move out of Tulsa, somewhere far away and get a steady job, have a family. And he tells you he wants and hopes to have it with you. As soon as you’re both 18, you both run away to some other state and get married is what he hopes for, and you promise.
