Sold Blitzo over the weekend and they requested he have his circus markings. While I was working on it I realized his little collar was NOT sturdy enough. Thankfully my buyer trusted me enough to let me take it apart and redo it before I sent it. I wanted to make sure he was as sturdy as possible so they would t have to worry about it snapping in transit or someone accidentally breaking it when they handled it at their home. I think it came out cuter as a result!

Christina "La Veneno" Ortiz became a TV star in Spain when she was working as a sex worker. A reporter for the tabloid talk show Esta noche cruzamos el Misisipi approached her while she worked and asked, "Are you a man or a woman?" to which she replied, "I'm a stoplight."
She became a regular fixture on the show, noted for her brazen sexuality and her outspokenness about her experience.
youtube

Always a figure of controversy, she spent several years in prison for insurance fraud, but nonetheless made a big comeback with the release of her autobiography, ¡Digo! Ni puta ni santa. Las memorias de La Veneno.

Shortly after its release in 2018, she died under very mysterious circumstances.
In 2020, HBO Max released a limited series about her life, and it is really fantastic, I cannot recommend it enough!

I have made the most beautiful mirror! And it’s got a little bumble bee on it!
Originally I was planning on just doing the bee and honeycomb part, but ended up adding the mirror because it felt like it needed a little something extra. It’s so pretty in person I’m in love with it!

I used the coolest glass for these stained glass sea turtles. They genuinely make me so happy. This was a remake of one of the first designs I made when I first started and it’s crazy to see the difference between the two!

Look at how much nicer my soldering is by comparison! It’s crazy!!

can we ask about ur family's curse
according to my great grandma it was cast on her grandma by a neighbor with the evil eye - "your daughters will marry their fathers and your sons will become them"
which is really just a fancy way of describing the cycle of abuse and therefore worked very well, generally going into effect before the kid in question turned 21
so my matrilineal family tree winds up a fractured, miserable mess, lots of young marriages and parents falling apart generation after generation, serial toxic marriages with generations of kids scattered across the whole state in foster homes - very nasty stuff
until it gets to me (firstborn in my generation of cousins) and by the time im twenty one i am 1. both daughter and son and neither 2. extremely aspec and queer
which apparently this neighbor did not conceive of when casting her eye and seems to have simply error messaged the curse into oblivion. no one born after me has had this problem. all their romantic relationships are loving (though i would never claim them perfect) and their children adored. fairytale loopholed so hard the damn thing disintegrated. its the funniest magic story i have lmao

A fantasy story starting with the protagonist minding her own business gathering firewood, when a demon appears out of nowhere announcing that she belongs to him now. The protagonist demands to know on what grounds, she's never signed no damn contract. The demon is kind of baffled by this, and awkwardly explains that just now her father had promised his firstborn for something, and she is his firstborn.
The protagonist digs her heels in and says no, she never knew her biological father and by the way the demon explained the situation, evidently her father also doesn't know that he already has a daughter, so therefore the man who had made no contribution to her life after he bred and fled has no claim to her as something he could barter.
Not giving a shit about the fact she's gambling her life in doing so, the protagonist makes contact with the local woodland fae, asking them to negotiate on her side. The fae think that this is fucking hilarious and go with her. So, having lawyered up and with a reluctant demon in tow, the protagonist heads off on a quest to find her father and do whatever it takes to wrangle everyone involved into unmaking the contract.

Help me name a fictional American town!
Where? Somewhere in Massachusetts
When? 1955
The vibes: Studio Ghibli meets Lovecraftian Horror
The formula: NOUN/ADJECTIVE + SETTLEMENT SYNONYM/GEOGRAPHIC FEATURE
(Examples from my other works: Butterhedge. Redbay. Owl Lake. Lilydale.)
We'll start with the second half of the word, the Settlement Synonym/Geographic Feature :)
A relevant fact: when I write horror I always treat the setting as a central character. In fact usually I start stories by thinking of a setting first, then working backwards to find out who lives there, what conflicts they'd have, why they're interesting etc. In this case, I'm working the opposite direction - starting with characters I know well and building a world around them. This has left me with a very fluid vision of the setting right now, so I'm not sure the atmosphere that will emerge yet.
All of this to say, whatever name you guys give this setting will HIGHLY impact the atmosphere I decide to give this story :3c so be sure to pick a nice word!

While I patiently yearn for more Beren/Luthien scenes in @allthatglittersisnotgoldrush I thought to myself, why not draw them? And since I've recently gotten into Journey to the West, I figured, why not merge these fixations?? :D
Since Thingol already has a pretty nice library in the AU, I imagine he might've sourced the Chinese classics at some point; Luthien then reads Journey to the West to Beren (probably practiced the translation beforehand instead of doing it on the spot, and also did all the voices and used a staff to act out Wukong's scenes loll) Later on, when Beren sends her letters and such, he signs them with little doodles of stuff they talked about, which she'd recognize!
For Beren's doodle of Wukong and Sanzang (and the peach), I took inspiration from Coast Salish art since they've been my main basis for his design in the past. Also, I imagine he's drawing Wukong and Sanzang's reunion as a way to tell Luthien that he's always thinking of being with her :''') And also, first time drawing Lucy and Amlach! I figured it was time to give them a cameo XD
