hey just a reminder that the news is actively not reporting on the massive protests against the current administration happening across the country. If you're freaking out because "we're really just letting this happen?" No, we aren't, and you're not alone. Don't be complacent and don't give up.

I want to scream and cry (istg who tf am i lying to, i am already crying)
To every non-ukrainian that reads my tumblr — if Ukraine is going to be given to russia, I will die. For being openly pro-Ukrainian of openly queer — one of those two, definitely. It is, like, a fact. And the possibility of that is way higher then the possibility of me dying right now from a missile or a drone (even though there's an air raid right now, yeah). Fucking crazy, but that's the reality.
Don't want to be spreading defeatism, but the things that happened in the White House today very clearly shows that the US is siding with russia.
I believe in our military. They are doing absolutely unbelievable things. They are probably the only reason why I haven't given up on my life yet.
But oh my fucking god, it is so obvious that the US is trying to sell us to russia. Honestly, it is fucking unbelievable. After threatening to sanction the hell out of us in the 90s in order to make us give up our nukes and destroy missiles and military aircrafts, they failed to react when russia broke the Budapest memorandum and attacked us in 2014. They did fucking nothing. And now they are actively betraying Ukraine (sorry, I can't call it otherwise). I hate trump and every person that voted for him. I wish them to spend the next 11 years like ukrainians — actively suffering and with everyone telling them to shut up and die already.
I genuinely don't know what else to say. Support Ukraine, please. If you are not from the US — look up the info about pro-Ukraine rallies in your country. We need the support of other countries. At this point I am literally begging everyone who can read this — push your government to help us. It is crucial right now.
If you are from the US — honestly, i don't know what to tell you. Either hire a hitman who can do their job or riot and overthrow him. Yeah.
Ah, also, yeah, never fucking ever give up your nukes 🙂

Tom Brown, a 79-year-old from Clemmons, North Carolina, has spent over 20 years of his retirement tracking down rare, nearly extinct apple varieties that once flourished across Appalachia. Driven by his passion for rediscovering these heirlooms, Brown has revived more than 1,200 unique apple types with whimsical names like Brushy Mountain Limbertwig, Mule Face, and Tucker’s Everbearing.
His journey began in 1998 after encountering heritage apples at a farmers’ market, inspiring him to search for “lost” apples that hadn’t been tasted in over a century. Stretching across the Appalachian region—from southern New York to northern Alabama—Brown scours old maps, orchard catalogs, and historical records, often driving hours and knocking on doors to find forgotten orchards or lone trees tucked in remote areas.
When he finds a lost variety, Brown grafts clippings onto trees in his own orchard, where he cultivates and sells them for just $15 to encourage others to create “mini preservation orchards.” Despite the challenge of aging trees and a dwindling population of local knowledge keepers, Brown remains determined, calling the work both fun and fulfilling.
“It’s a thrill to rediscover them,” he says. “I’m happy as a lark.” Brown’s mission not only preserves these apples but also honors the heritage of the region, where generations of families once prided themselves on cultivating unique varieties in their backyards.

Took this from Instagram because this is urgent US folks.
You need to call and email your reps no matter if you live in a red or blue state. This cannot be allowed to pass.
It will prevent anyone who has ever changed their name from voting (including their last name)

SO. I've been crawling through NASA's site for articles highlighting women and other minorities that haven't been taken down yet. And good news, I found a few! I don't know if they'll be taken down eventually, or if someone intentionally skipped over these (or if the person who was doing the scrubbing did a ramshackle job and missed a bunch, maybe they were only deleting articles that used a list of keywords), but I'm gonna throw them here anyway (via the wayback machine) so they're preserved, just in case. I'll also throw a few articles in that HAVE been scrubbed from NASA's site, for further preservation.
Sally Ride - First American woman to go to space aboard the Challenger. This article also talks a little bit about Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman to go to space. Here's another article that talks more in depth about both women that has, unfortunately, been taken down. Sally Ride was also the first gay woman to have gone into space, though this only became public knowledge after her death in 2012.
Kathryn Sullivan - First American woman to walk in space.
Eileen Collins - First American woman to command a space shuttle.
Joann Morgan - First female engineer at NASA, and first woman to serve as a senior executive at the Kennedy Space Center.
Nicole Aunapu Mann - First indigenous woman to go to space.
Mary Golda Ross - First indigenous woman to become an engineer at Lockheed (and only woman, at the time), and contributed to NASA's Interplanetary Flight Handbook in 1963. The NASA article is a little sparse, here's another article that goes much more into detail on her life and work.

“But my senator is a Republican”
Gamergate was like 200 people. And now look where we are. “A lot of emails” on a topic to congressional staffers is like, 20. Are politicians spineless idiots? Yes. Use that to your advantage! Is this the only thing you can be doing? No! But it can be the first.
The internet has completely short circuited our sense of scale. The number of people required to move almost any needle is remarkably low. Your involvement in local causes, political pressure WILL have an impact.
Ok, get out there.
