The bitch of it is, if they had just done a trilogy built around Jacen Solo falling in love with Tenel Ka and also slowly slipping toward the Dark Side, and they cast Daisy Ridley as Tenel Ka Djo and literally anyone with a single ounce of charisma as Jacen, I would've eaten that shit up! I would've been the most annoying Djolo shipper you've ever seen. But no. Jar Jar Abrams decided to stick us with his Jacen from Wish OC, and here we are.

Jacen had spent most of his life trying to bring peace to a brutal and chaotic galaxy, and matters only seemed to be growing worse. There was always some unseen war about to spill over from the next system, some hate-filled demagogue ready to slay billions to assure the “greater good”. Sometimes Jacen wondered if he was having any effect at all, if the galaxy would not have been just as well served had he never returned to the Jedi and remained among the Aing-Tii, meditating on the Force.

Instead, she assaulted him with every emotion she was feeling at the moment. She couldn’t help herself. She didn’t mean to. It just happened.

Can we take a moment to appreciate that Jacen Solo at one point decided that the reason Tenel Ka didn’t laugh at his jokes was that he decided she didn’t understand the theory of comedy and sat down with her on a hyperspace trip to explain WHY things were funny and she should totally be laughing at these punchlines.

It was almost like a game.

Years had passed since she had taken up the crown. Years. Yet the courtiers that surrounded her daily still couldn’t manage to figure out that not a single one of them had actually slept with the Queen Mother.

They each knew full well that they themselves hadn’t, but that didn’t mean they told the truth to the others about it. According to the suitors, Tenel Ka Djo had slept with all of them at least once. She heard tales from some of her handmaidens of what she had apparently done with each of them, every story usually more disgusting than the one before.

It was laughable, really. The heights that each man would reach with their lies and tales of their intimate times with the Queen Mother of Hapes. All the while, when asked by other suitors about the claims of one or another, she would just shrug nonchalantly and go about her business, leaving the group in even more of a confused panic.

Did Droekle really get her to agree to that?! Did Trisdan really manage to spend hours with her in the soaking pool of the royal chambers refresher?!

No. Never.

None of them bothered to tell these extraordinary lies to the man who occasionally dropped by to visit his old friend, Tenel Ka.

And that was because each and every one of them suspected that that man, Jacen Solo, had actually been in the royal bedchambers, in the bed, between the sheets with her. They also suspected that being a dreadful Jedi meant he could sniff around and pick up their lies outright.

They were right regarding both of those worries.

At least they were right about something.
