Dyscalculia is a learning disability, a lot like dyslexia, but with math and numbers. Everyone knows what dyslexia is, but for some reason, dyscalculia isn’t as well known. I want people to know about this so no more kids are gonna believe uneducated adults who tells them that they’re just lazy and no more kids are going to think they’re just hopeless idiots when they try and try but just can’t understand. It happened to me, and I won’t let it happen to anyone else.

Jac Reviews : A Shadow in Riverclan (SPOILERS, if you haven’t read it!)
Imma just outright say it—I liked this graphic novel. Really liked it, actually. I love the characterization and the simple, yet impactful, story.
I love Feathertail—even without reading most of tpb/tnp. I related to her a lot, as many have said before me. Her struggles with trauma, depression, not feeling like she belonged, really struck a cord with me. I like more character-driven stories, especially in Warriors where it really needs it.
Notable things
Feathertail and Stormfur’s relationtionship and characterization as a whole. I adore them, please, we need more healthily developed adult-sibling relationships in Warriors.
The artstyle—I just thought it was nice. A bit of nostalgia speaking, too, as Graystripe’s Adventure was the first ever Warriors books I ever read, so.
RiverClan’s camp! I— it’s beautiful. The stones, the feathers, the landscape. I need more visuals of these things, because it’s so hard to picture where these cats actually live. I thought it was a cool look into it.
Leapordstar being portrayed as a flawed person (cat?) Yes! Feathertail has every single right to be angry at her, and she really deserves it. She did bad things. She was a bad person. I like how she grew, thought, but also how the novel acknowledged that what she did was awful.
Graystripe being Graystripe :)
I love Fern and Feather’s relationship!! Like—they’re adorable. Please. Though at the end, when feather chased her off the border along with the other ThunderClan cats, kinda made me sad. She looked so upset omg
Also I think Sasha is neat—is that a hot take? I also like Feathertail and Sasha’s friendship, and even their conflict. It’s difficult to face traumas, and difficult to let go of bad people.
One thing I found iffy was Feather’s view of Hawkpaw, specifically. Yes, he’s Tigerstar’s son, blah blah, and he’s a good fighter. It’s understandable for her character, yeah, but still—poor guy, even if he didn’t know.
Not sure what else to say—I thought it was a nice story. I love character-driven stories so,, it’s almost a given I’d like it. I do suggest giving it a read if you haven’t (i mean, why are you reading this if you haven’t tf 😡) I would love to see more of these in the future—background-ish characters from other Clans, perhaps?
Anyway uhhh overall rating : 8.5/10

I really liked this page

And them 😩

Sasha you just got dumped sorry girl :((

I love the sense of. . . Wonder (?) that into the wild seems to have—like seeing ThunderClan for the first time is like?? Lovely ? Everyone is vibing and sharing tongues and stuff and it’s nice :]
It just seems a bit more like a collective community than a bunch of cardboard cutouts thrown into a pit :/
#I talk like I’ve read the tpb before#lmao I haven’t#I just know what happens in every arc despite not reading them#oh what a weird child I was#warrior cats#wc#warriors#into the wild

i think this deserves its own post, but lore from the first arc that i picked up upon while re-reading and think is very interesting until it was forgotten about:
a clans camp is a very, very big secret, and the other clans are not supposed to know where it is. in into the wild, tigerclaw suggests in despair that thunderclan is going to have to move their camp because of the raid against shadowclan warriors. pretty much in at least the first two books, it’s suggested that raids against camps was almost unheard of pre-brokenstar, and that a clan would move their camp if they felt threatened by another group of cats.
fireheart mentions in forest of secrets that it’s incredibly rare for fathers to be close to their kittens as they grow up, which is why crookedstar and silverstream’s relationship is so unique in the clans; it’s pretty much the only of its kind, with the sole exception of oakheart and stonefur and mistyfoot.
the characters in the first arc note a big difference between patrols and hunting trips - in forest of secrets (or fire and ice, one of them i cant remember) sandstorm says that she loves border patrols because warriors are allowed to eat what they catch, as opposed to hunting patrols/hunting expeditions where warriors are NOT allowed what they catch and MUST give it to the clan first. a very interesting distinction that we see a lot in the first arc, because scouting/border patrols often will eat what they catch in their own territory.
one-eye mentions in fire and ice how thunderclan once kept prisoners for many moons in their camp, which is why bluestar agrees to keep brokentail held there.
not a secret cus this is sadly ignored in the books, but bluestar firmly tells fireheart that a queen does not have to disclose the father of her kittens if she doesnt want to. again just a funny thing that the erins forget post-the first arc lmafo.
while cats in the clans eat small prey throughout the day to keep them sustained, in the first arc it seems like sunset is the time that more often than not, the whole clan comes together to eat their dinner before turning in for the night/before others go out on patrols. again i just found that to be very interesting.
leopardfur makes the case that stormkit and featherkit should go to riverclan because it’s silverstream’s clan, and all kits should go to their mothers clan. obviously this is not a law thats set in stone, but it seems to be generally agreed upon in the first arc that if there is a romance between cats of diff clans that results in a litter, the mother’s clan has the biggest claim to them.
in the first arc, apprentices obviously have mentors, but pretty much every warrior takes them out/helps their mentor train them. theres so many scenes of apprentices going on hunting trips with a pair of warriors/one warrior offering to take another apprentice out hunting just to give them extra experience that i find lacking in the other arcs. to me it rly gave a huge sense of unity in thunderclan to see brightpaw hunting with sandstorm and fireheart, or runningwind taking out thornpaw + cloudpaw, or swiftpaw helping mousefur out on patrols, rather than apprentices having to stick to their mentors side 24/7.
fireheart notes that p much all windclan cats are small, like ik its a hc most people have that they’re the smallest clan but at least, in the first arc, thats confirmed to be true
another thing - i think its interesting to note that throughout the first arc, while six moons of age is more or less the general age requirement for kits to become apprentices, clan leaders also seem to go off of a kits maturity and size to make a judgment on if they can become apprentices early, sometimes earlier than their littermates. brackenkit and cinderkit became apprentices long before their littermates did because frostfur recommended that they did due to their maturity; cloudkit became an apprentice before ashkit and fernkit because he had already begun hunting and showed more potential earlier. in the later arcs all kits become apprentices at six moons, no exceptions (and maybe this is a pure firestar enforced rule, whereas bluestar was more lenient), but in arc 1, we see kits become apprentices out of birth order purely based on their maturity and potential to become apprentices.
i’ll finish these notes after i finish the last two books (had to take a break bc of bouncing between two jobs)

so everyone knows the commonly animated warrior cat scenes. the fire scene, tigerstar’s death, the great battle, etc. but what are some scenes you rarely if ever see animated that you wish were done more?
for me its:
the scene in po3 where Hollypaw and Cinderpaw hide from the rain before dashing over to get prey and back.
Crookedstar when he ran away from riverclan for a while and lived with some barn cats. i rly wish this was talked about more in general ngl.
anything about how Dustpelt basically disowned Birchfall after the great battle
Hollyleaf bleeding out and having to be dragged back to camp. most things skip the fact she was a bit aways when she was clawed.
the bit in Bluestar’s prophecy where Sunfall takes Bluekit out to see the camp
Whitewing Worrying over Ivypool’s mysterious cuts
anything Goosefeather related
anything with Myler and or Nettlepaw in Mapleshade’s vengeance.
the fact Daisy and Ferncloud were basically Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf’s moms
the elders loving cloudkit
the fact Needletail wasn’t interested in Violetshine originally
that’s all i can think of atm, i’d love to hear what’d you guys would wanna see
