This is a poem by me, it has no name but I think it’s symbolic with the fact it has no name

i can feel my heart beating hard in my chest

i look down into my lap and close my eyes slowly

a small singular tear falls from my right eye then to run down my cheek

i want it to stop

i hold my breath

my heart starts beating harder

but over time it slows down

watching my heart slow down and soften gives me

peace

Watching the clock

seconds tick by

where are you?

not here,

I have to keep reminding myself.

Your shadow has taken over mine.

I find myself searching for places on my body you haven’t controlled

haven’t taken over

but i never really stopped looking

i scrub at my hands

legs

shoulders

back

passionately,

eager to get you off me,

how can i get your touch,

off of me.

Off my pale prickled skin,

the print from your rough fingertips imbedded into layers upon layers i have never quite been able shed.
