I stare down the dawn to remind it that I exist. Each rise and fall of my chest carries the weight of my presence.

When I was with you,

I soared to heights

that stole my words

and spoke of love,

as if I could hold

the warmth of the sun

and the beauty of the moon

in a single breath.

Yet I linger,

held in the rhythm of the day

where shadows sleep

as the light fades.

With every heartbeat,

I gather the fragments

of what once was,

whilst longing for your dawn

that never arrives.
