How to make a Frying Pan Ratatouille just like you find in Animal Crossing: New Horizons…and another thing. A movie. Forget what it’s called. It’s one of the ways you can customize your freshly crafted frying pan. Unlike the in-game version, you can eat this one. Watch it in action here.
What You Need:
Vegetables:
Eggplant
Zucchini
Tomato
Vinaigrette:
1 TBL sherry vinegar
3 TBL olive oil
1 tsp honey
1 tsp brown mustard
The rest:
Tomato sauce
Salt+Pepper
Herbs de Provence or other dried herbs
Slice zucchini, eggplant, and tomatoes into 1/8 inch slices. Set zucchini and tomatoes aside. In a small mason jar, place vinegar, olive oil, honey, and brown mustard. Lid up and shake to combine. Set aside.
Place eggplant on a drying rack and lightly season with kosher salt. After half an hour, flip, and season the other side. Allow to sit for another half hour. Squeeze excess liquid from the eggplant. Set aside with the rest of your sliced veggies.
Lightly grease up a carbon steel or cast iron pan. Ladle in a thin layer of tomato sauce and spread along the bottom of the pan. Should take about ¼-1/3 cup depending on the size of your pan.
Carefully fan your veggie slices along the edge of the pan working towards the center. You can arrange it in any order you like, but try to at least keep it consistent so that it cooks evenly. Brush with reserved vinaigrette, and season lightly with salt and pepper. Sprinkle on dried herbs of choice.
Place pan in a 450 degree oven and cook for 10-25 minutes or until vegetables are lightly golden. Allow to cool slightly for about five minutes. Then, you can serve with more sauce and some crusty bread.

In this video, I devise a recipe for a steak that contains no meat: Shroom Steak. Which just so happens to be the height of Shroom cuisine. Here’s how you make it. Watch it in action here.
Dry stuff:
1 ¼ cups vital wheat gluten
5 TBL chickpea flour
2 tsp grill seasoning, I use Montreal Steak Blend
½ cup Fried Shrooms, about half a recipe
Wet stuff:
1 TBL low sodium soy sauce
1 TBL Worcestershire sauce
1 TBL honey
1 tsp liquid smoke, I use applewood
2 tsp sherry vinegar
1 TBL gravy improver
2 tsp brown mustard
2 tsp anchovy paste
2/3 cup vegetarian beef broth
Canola oil, as needed
For dry stuff: In a food processor or Vitamix, combine vital wheat gluten, chickpea powder, onion powder, garlic powder, steak seasoning, and one recipe of fried shrooms. Pulse until blended. Set aside.
In a measuring cup place soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, honey, liquid smoke, brown mustard, anchovy paste, sherry vinegar, gravy improver, and hot broth of choice. Add liquid to dry stuff and pulse until a dough forms.
Place dough on a dry surface and knead it until it’s slightly springy, about two minutes. Roll out dough into a half inch thick or so rectangle. Cut out steaks using a mushroom cookie cutter or freeform it with kitchen sheers. Reroll excess dough or save for another use.
Wrap steaks in lightly oiled aluminum foil. Poke a few holes in the top and bottom. Steam for 20 minutes. Carefully remove from steam and allow to cool slightly.
To grill steaks: brush steaks on both sides with a little oil or clarified butter. Sprinkle with your favorite steak seasoning blend. Cook on a super hot grill for about two minutes. You can weigh it down with a press if you like. Turn steaks 45 degrees and cook for two more minutes, covered. Flip, and cook another 2 minutes. Turn 45 degrees, cook another two minutes, then remove from heat.
Serve hot and enjoy like you would any steak, I like it with a green salad.

The sweet rolls in Skyrim sure look tasty. Here’s a real-life recipe for the Elder Scrolls dessert that makes an amazing breakfast bun. Watch it in action here.
Dough:
¼ cup milk, room temp
3 TBL sugar
2 tsp yeast
1 egg, warm temp
1 cup bread flour
Dash of nutmeg1/2 tsp salt
¼ cup butter, room temp
Icing:
1 TBL cream cheese
½ TBL milk
3 TBL powdered sugar
Cornstarch, as needed
Place barely warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Allow to get foamy, about five minutes. Pour into a large bowl.
Add egg, flour, vanilla, and nutmeg. Mix until just combined. Cover and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Add the salt and knead in the bowl until an elastic dough forms, about 5-8 minutes
Using a dough scraper, carefully fold in the butter, ½ TBL at a time. Once the butter is added, form into a dough ball, cover, and allow to rise for about 2 hours or until doubled in size.
Once doubled, lightly cornstarch a work surface. Pinch off small balls of dough and place into silicone molds so they are about 1/3 filled. If using metal molds, make sure to butter them first. Allow to rise until they double in size again.
To bake: If using metal molds: Bake in 375 degree oven for 18 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
If using silicone molds: cook in a 400 degree oven for 5 minutes, drop to 375 and cook for another 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
For Icing: Cream together cream cheese, salt, and sugar until combined. Whisk in milk. Drizzle over cooled buns.

How to make a real-life version of the Movie Theater snack from Stardew Valley: Stardrop Sorbet. You won’t need an ice cream maker to make this yummy frozen treat, just a handy dandy stick blender. Watch it in action here.
What you need:
1 lb red or concord grapes
½ lb blueberries
1 small fuji apple, grated
3 TBL water cup water
1 ½ TBL lemon juice
3 TBL sugar
3 TBL corn syrup
Pinch of salt
Blue or purple gel color (optional)
¼ cup greek yogurt
In a medium pot, place fruit, water, lemon juice, sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Cover and bring to a boil. Once it’s boiling, drop to low and cook for about 20 minutes or until grapes start to give up their juices.
Blend the mixture with a stick blender or regular blender until it’s just chunky. Run through a nut bag or cheesecloth to get all the pulp out. You should have about 2 cups of liquid. Allow to cool in the fridge completely. Add food coloring to make it purple if it’s not vibrant enough.
Once cooled, whisk about ¼ cup of your liquid with ¼ cup greek yogurt. Then, add that mixture back to mix. Pour into a baking dish, a loaf pan works good. Freeze for 2 hours or so or until mostly frozen.
Take the stick blender to it until it’s smooth, then put if back into the freezer. Do this every hour until you get a nice soft mixture. Then, you can store it wherever.
To serve: Allow to come to room temp for about 2-4 minutes, scoop and serve.
