Bath Time | Ace and Nine
That hair of Nine’s always irked Ace. It wasn’t that he wanted to shave it off, or burn it, but he wanted the man to at least maintain its cleanliness and style. A chocobo’s plumage had had better days than the blonde’s strange hairstyle…if it was even considered one. The dragoon always had messy hair since he was young, but that was Ace’s limit. Seventeen years. So the light-blonde took slow, quiet steps to the other man’s room, a bottle of shampoo (which is also a body wash) and a brush in one arm and the key to the dorm room around his other hand.
It was early in the morning, and he knew Nine was still on his bed, sleeping until he had to run to class because he was late. He often gets detention slips for his tendency to not come in time, and Ace knew Kurasame had to buy extra notepads just for Nine. But the tall blonde didn’t even seem concerned, even if he could be held off while they were out of school and into their future—or possible lack thereof.
He gently inserted the object in his hand into the keyhole, tilting the key until he heard a soft click. He took the key out and twisted the doorknob, pushing the door open. As expected, he heard loud snoring and he tip-toed into the bathroom. He could deal with Nine’s wrinkled clothes, or the way he sat on his chair, but the hair…no. He will not accept the fact that Nine was looking like a chocobo, of all animals. They were his favorite type of birds, too.
He turned the faucet of the bathtub on, hoping to Etro that Nine was a heavy sleeper. As it turns out, he was. As much as the water pouring onto the porcelain tub was loud, Nine’s snores only grew louder. The sound came to a halt as Ace measured where the water was and decided it was plentiful, before he approached Nine’s bed and yanked the blanket off of the man’s body.
“Wake up, Nine.”
