Jax Coco Green Juice
This is a delicious, alkalizing, cleansing, hydrating juice, packed with vitamin C, calcium, potassium (vitamin K), vitamin B6 and folate as well as the electrolytes that Jax Coco provides – a super healthy way to start the day.
Our basic rule for green juices and smoothies is choose five greens and one fruit plus Jax Coco and you can’t go wrong!
Ingredients:
500ml Jax Coco
4 sticks of celery
2 bulbs of fennel
2 handfuls of kale
2 oranges (including peel)
Green juices or smoothies are excellent for helping to reduce mid-afternoon energy slumps and sugar cravings and are an ideal way to increase intake of vegetables and fruit. High intake of organic vegetables is thought to support the body to prevent premature ageing and disease. We include one fruit or juice per smoothie to minimize insulin production from the fructose. If you don’t have a juicer then this makes just as good a smoothie using a blender (just squeeze the orange juice first instead of juicing the whole orange). The orange juice works so well with the fennel!

This is why we say: Drink for life.
Neat factoid of the day! In a pinch coconuts can be used as a saline IV bag and they’re pretty sterile!
There is one actual, documented case of the coconut IV being used in modern times. Atoifi Hospital is a small facility in the Solomon Islands. Air travel in and out is difficult, and supplies sometimes run short. At one time, when visiting medical officials were there, they saw a forty-something man come in with partial bodily paralysis and a high fever. The man was unable to take in fluids, and soon became severely dehydrated. The hospital was running low on IV bags, and so they decided to enact a slightly less-standard, but still-used procedure. One of the relatives of the sick man scaled a coconut tree and fetched a coconut down, careful not to crack the outer husk. Part of the husk was peeled away, exposing the eyes of the coconut. Doctors jabbed a large needle through one of them. The needle came out full of coconut meat, and so a new needle was inserted in the existing hole, and, presumably, sucked a little nutrition out of the original needle. The coconut was connected up to the IV tube, which was jabbed right into the patient. The man stayed hydrated with coconut water for two days, after which he recovered and went home.
