Shipping Dangerous Goods – Basics of Air and Sea Transportation
International Trade includes Import and Export of various kinds of goods. But proper handling of Dangerous goods should be considered an important task. There are various types of goods that come under the Dangerous goods such as explosives, gases, toxic and infectious materials, etc. It is the responsibility of the importer, Exporter, and Freight Forwarder (diploma in freight forwarding courses), etc, to see how to transport Dangerous goods across the countries. Mishandling of such goods will be Dangerous to life, health, and property.
The mode of shipping is through air and sea and it is classified accordingly. There are three packing groups classified as high, medium, and low danger and four types of packing – UN specification packaging, limited quantity packaging, excepted quantity packaging, and another packing. One should also have basic documents to become eligible to ship goods through air and sea mode. Before the shipment, marking and labeling of the goods are done. It becomes important to know about the different aspects of shipping Dangerous goods, to prevent marine pollution and how safely one should handle such goods. All this is explained in detail in this webinar session.

One of the most common ways used by Exporters and Importers for the transport of their goods is through air and sea.
