What are Eli and Victor’s fascinations in experimenting with death?
I believe that their fascination begins where just about everyone’s does. In that it is most likely the most confusing topic with from culture to culture throughout the world. This natural occurrence  grabs the attention of two out of the box boys. Their wit maybe a little too fast paced and without necessary research, while in reality they could never come back to life just as easily. Just like you and I experimentation at this age is the typical phase to go through so naturally they undergo tests by inducing death but in a controlled way where they can bring the subject back. To their surprise there we more outcomes than just that. Everyone survived, but they also became equipped with their own super powers.
Would you consider this murder and punishable by law? Is this morally correct?
Personally I believe as living and breathing creatures we also deserve to see whats on the “other side” so I’ve got to side with the curiosity of the boys, but to actually carry out the process may be a little too risky for my taste. With much thought beforehand it would probably occur to me that we’re testing matters that are not within human control... This is the realm of the greater forces at work in the spiritual world that we live in. Making the decision to be a test subject would mean that I would be willing to die that same day and never come back.

What do you think is the reasoning as to why Kamala goes from a young middle eastern woman to a more fair skinned super hero?
I believe Kamala’s transformation into a superhero is an opportunity to show the audience that you are capable of anything, such as saving lives and defeating evil. This is what superheroes do daily and it remains within her ready to come out when needed. The reason I believe though, that when she transforms she gains the appearance of a blonde haired and much taller, beautiful, and athletic woman superhero is because that is the most common depiction of female superhero, such as Wonder Woman or Bat Woman. It’s a classic character so it makes people easily understanding of what is to expect from the role.
Why is Kamala’s family so protective about what she does?
Kamala’s relationship with her family is more deep than what’s seen on the surface. She maintains a good understanding with her mother and father about what they expect from her, but I feel like she is forced to live a double life between how she acts at school around friends and how she must present herself to her family. She wants to be able to go out and have fun just like the other kids at school because but her father says no resulting in her sneaking out anyway. It’s a difficult position she is put in because she has the option to be just like her brother, religious at every hour of the day, or she could be just like “everyone else”. The group of people that party and engage in everything else their fellow peers do.

Monday’s Homework Assignment
1) America’s gun violence has escalated tenfold just in my own lifetime. I have seen the what I want to call the “beginning” of the epidemic to what it is now. It’s crazy though to me that this article was able to label these acts as hypermasculine violence because I would’ve have never thought of that before, but it makes perfect sense. These issues solely occur within males leaving females and gays as victims. These are heinous crimes that are tearing people and families apart. Thought I do not agree on taking guns away from citizens, because we deserve the right to protect ourselves, I believe in fair gun laws and regulations on who should be owning them and the proper etiquette on carrying them. When kept in the right hands they can save many lives and help those that are not fighters protect their families and loved ones. As for statutory rape some could say these men are born monsters, but I truly believe something went wrong down the line of their lifetimes. Whether they were around an environment that was too loose on the importance of consenting to sexual activity let alone respecting females or have true hate in their hearts these frustrations can be faced in a humane manor.
2) It is incredible to see Emma Watson, a huge female actress, speak on such a topic. I would have never had a clue that she cared so deeply about the problem with unfairness and equality in the workplace and common world situations. She was able to recognize the disgusting fact that women are strictly sexualized instead of viewed on their intelligence or skillset. The fact that women are being moved aside for the purpose of men to play the lead role whether it be  economics, politics etc. She is a prime example that a woman, even one with such beauty, can be just as impactful as the next human being. Emma Watson has surpassed many actors in the same position and is extremely successful and to imagine a world that thinks it is fair that she would get less pay because she is a woman is blasphemous. This generation will be able to make this world gender equal.
3) It is refreshing seeing a video like this. I’m not sure who the man in this video is or what his name is. But when imagining a man with an opinion such as his who has a family and goes home to them everyday or specifically after filming this video. I imagine a wholesome family life, i imagine a happy wife, I imagine this man teaching his son and also his daughters proper ideals to take out into the world. In a long term effect to see more men like this in the world creating a more positive future. With a mindset like this instilled in every household around the world I could see the world changing for the better. Creating equality between men and women and extending out as far as equality in the LGBT community within the entirety of the population. Movements like this deserve more focus from young people, because if we start now we can create the change we want to see in the world within our lifetimes.
FINALLY) I can relate these three sources to the consistent theme of hypermasculinity in our everyday lives. This day in age is changing at a pace faster I think now than ever. I believe people are coming to their senses in the idea of coming to a better world and that means equality for everyone. From issues over race, police brutality, and finally gender issues. These sources are great eye openers on the topic pertaining to genders. The first article shows an example of an extreme but realistic situation where these certain men’s masculinity was exerted in devastating ways in a community that replicate that of our country, and proved that it is disgusting and is only keeping our progress as a nation at a standstill. The second shows a females, not any female but a lead female role’s, opinion on gender equality in forms of equal pay or job placement. And the third video shows a prime example of a western cultured man realizing and promoting equality in genders from first hand experience. In their own ways these are perfect resources that can be used to teach our youth the importance of the equality.

Assignment #5
1) What is the importance of the lessons Starr’s father instills in his children?
The lessons Mr. Carter gives the children on how to carry themselves when involved with police officers is fair and the safest way possible for them handle and survive an everyday traffic stop or worse. He teaches them to do the right thing and find justice in the negative parts of their community. Beginning with drug dealers they must understand a more steady and fullfilling life is more desirable though not everyone has the means to create that for themselves and fall victim to the “cycle”. Now these same respectful boundaries also exist when addressing another force within the community, generally of a different skin pigmentation, but still equally as destructive or as progressive. When addressing the two investigators after the shooting Starr keeps her composure and manages to put in perfect words what happened that night. When keep in mind that the same people she’s speaking to work day by day alongside the killer of her long time friend, Khalil. I find this incredible, because me myself walking into and out of a police station seeing all those badges and weapons after such an event would me traumatizing enough for me to run for cover. These types of life lessons taught by Mr. Carter are admirable and the commandments he taught his children at an early age would be something I would imagine fit to teach my own children.
2) What are the negative parts of the community?
Knowing that this story is a small glimpse into the broader spectrum of the entire world but mainly those in the country we live in today these negative parts are just an example existing in every community. This begins with a consistently existing trend of racism whether passive or fully intentional. Coming from higher figures in positions of influence like parents, older siblings, and even people in the magazine or papers. The fact that Starr Carter has 2 different sides of her she must switch in and out of are a clear example of the devastating effect this trend has on kids that are still in grades schools. This is no place for young minds to have additional stress when already conflicted about their near adult futures. The terminology related to t.h.u.g.l.i.f.e. is a strong meaning about how these same children bring extreme change to the world whilst growing into becoming a main part of it at the same time. Another negative part of the community is those that have fallen victim to the same cycles fueling this trend. In a cops eyes the people currently committing crimes whether it be drug dealing or pimping/prostituting bring a bad connotation to people of color and may be threatening in an everyday traffic stop or riot scenario. Though these people are put in a bad position to where they believe the only way out of their bad neighborhood or only way to support their family whether it be their children or sick loved ones we must not resort to the easy way out. The threat of police isn’t even the only one because with the territory also comes fighting and killing over territory or money. Having watched the news enough times even I myself witness killings over drug possessions and traffic monthly alone. Add onto that the amount of police killings of men and kids of color and you have more deaths that anyone could keep up with.

Assignment #4
1) Joan Darrow at first glance looks to me like someone artistically inclined but specifically looks like she does some kind of modern art or intensive interior design. Josh Torriello looks to me like some kind of big time New York jeweler. Potentially being from New York he looks like kind of a “jerk off” as well. David Lawrence looks like your typical guy from the streets. If he had a job he might work somewhere random maybe as a security guard somewhere, like a club bouncer or parking lot attendant if I’d have to guess exact.

Assignment #3 Part 2
Mark or the real life superman? This guy is the evidence of a human being I was unaware even existed. Maybe if I was slightly educated on what goes on within the types of ivy league schools he mentions I’d have an idea if this type of letter was “normal” or if he was joking. Because I still can’t believe it, and it would be an amusing prank. But If we’re taking it completely literal he seems like a decent guy, though mentioned ego-less, with a slightly larger than normal ego. Understandable though because I’m a firm believer that carrying yourself with confidence is only necessary if you’re wanting to be successful. It brings upon a sense of self promotion and requests that people take you seriously. Personally I’m guaranteed to look straight through you specially if you’ve already got yourself beat thinking you’re anything less than (i guess you could say) superman. But the guy has a lot of credentials as long as he can back them up. Throw in a few references and maybe some w-2′s and this is the guy I want on my team. Surpassing the normal standards with flying colors from his levels of experience through internships and knowledge in books to the fact the guy mentions he’s as physically fit as anyone on the sports teams. If I had any idea on the types of people that enter in the same application letters and are accepted J.P. Morgan without hesitation it’s definitely this guy.

Assignment #2 Part 2
It is tough to take a side in this incident between student and professor. Because there are two sides of the story and a lack of communication it resulted in misunderstanding. I feel that if the professor had known what her intentions were when being so late instead of immediately releasing her to the next class in session there would be a little more lenience. Instead, in my opinion, the way things unraveled was wrong. Just like any supplier and consumer interaction shopping for classes is completely understandable. With as much money as it costs for college courses wherever you go, proper research goes into a purchase that can cost hundreds or more. I think that its a brilliant way to go about finding the right classes for you, and if I’d known before maybe I’d try the same technique. I’m the type of person to find something out hands on  rather than surfing those find your professor websites that are hardly accurate.

Assignment #2 Part 1
Suzy Lee Weiss is a bitter high school graduate, but who wouldn’t be in the this tough situation. Especially having been through the same harsh reality, I can say I’d have to agree with her point of view. Throughout the article she touches on key points that support her frustration. Being able to fit the many standards required by (all) colleges is easier said than done. To be yourself and original is hard to do when there’s about a million qualifications to meet to achieve acceptance your dream school. As well as the unchangeable factors like your genetic background, and sexual orientation. The lesson to be learned is that not everybody takes the desired route instead a bunch of twist and turns to their final destination.

Tumblr media
The photo above shows a statistic claiming the lack of knowledge in most juul users. While many people do not know what a juul is, clearly even the users have no clue how harmful these smoking alternatives are. Though believed to be a healthier choice, juuls are a danger. This ad represents a movement to create awareness while dissuading consumers to stay away from the product. I believe this technical statistic mostly relates to the appeal logos because of such logical information included.

This video is a conversation with Chris Joslin, arguably the best pro skateboarder in the game. Specifically, an advertisement where he mentions every detail included when in the process of creating his new pro shoe by Etnies. Though being chosen to design a pro model shoe by a large company is a very prestigious award owning the shoe as a consumer is just as well. This is why I believe the video relates to the appeal ethos.

In this video the skateboarders and a filmer capture a fun filled day at their local skatepark. The technical tricks and smooth flowing styles of the skaters, through the emotion depicted by the camera man, give me the urge to get outside on a board myself. Because of this I believe this video relates to the appeal pathos. Without a single word besides from the upbeat tunes playing in the background you are sure to catch a vibe.
