how do you move on? love is a fleeting thing yet i cannot help but grasp it like an infant holding a firefly clasped in its palms. when i feel disappointment or guilt i feel a giant lump in my throat that i cant swallow. it sits there and reminds me of my gullibility, how my heart will always be too soft. I dont know what this game i play is, where everything is in my court and I purposefully miss my shot. what am I supposed to do now, with all this loved spilled onto the pavement. I can't do anything but walk away, right past you and through the door with, yet again, not a single glance. what a waste. And what a shame. I was so afraid to let what was between us slip out from between my fingers that I let it die, trapped and suffocated. you only meet so many people in your life and any feeling this strong does not come in infinite quantity. nor does anything. this is life. I might be stuck with this dead thing for a long time, full of regret and grief, but im not sure what I could've done to keep it alive. even if i knew what i couldve done i dont believe myself brave enough to do it. given a time machine if make the same mistakes.
