It will always be okay // Mingyu
Best friend!Mingyu au Angst Imagine // 1686 Words
Tumblr media
—-
Jeonghan had been pestering you for weeks now. It seemed the only thing that the two of you spoke about nowadays was your incessant crush on Mingyu and how Jeonghan was pressuring you to confess. You had shut him down a million times already, explaining that things were just too complicated between you and Mingyu, and you weren’t exactly ready to ruin a perfectly functional, perfectly great friendship.
Of course, you were aware that by keeping your feelings to yourself, you would be missing out on so many opportunities, as Jeonghan had constantly reminded you. But you were also sure that you and Mingyu had an amazing friendship, and you were quite scared to let anything come in the way of, or change that.
You had been locked inside this mind set for quite a while now, and you and secretly promised yourself that you wouldn’t say anything to Mingyu (no matter how much Jeonghan said otherwise), so you were quite surprised when you were sat on the couch, beside Jeonghan (who else), sipping slowly on your glass of wine, not paying too much attention to the movie in the background, and actually considering telling Mingyu right then and there.
Perhaps it was the alcohol talking; after all, you and Jeonghan had gone through an entire bottle of wine earlier that evening, and were well through the second one. But as Jeonghan played ‘therapist’ for the evening, consulting your problems as any close friend would during a binge wine and movie night session, he casually slipped in mentions of your overdue confession to Mingyu. And you- slightly drunk- was starting to think that idea didn’t sound half bad. In fact, it sounded quite good in the moment!
“I just… I don’t know, Y/N.” Jeonghan sighed, toying with the frayed edges of the throw blanket that was draped decoratively over the edge of the sofa. His voice was slightly slurred and lower than usual. “I just think that this is something he really needs to know. You can’t be hiding something so big from your best friend, right?”
You sighed, resting your chin on your hand from feeling exceptionally drowsy. “I mean, it’s not that big of a secret, is it?”
As the words left your mouth, you felt hands grip your shoulders and suddenly, a Jeonghan was in front of you, shaking you slightly as if he were trying to shake the absurdity out of you.
“Are you kidding me?” He whisper-screamed, finishing his shaking but continuing to hold a strong gaze directly into your eyes. “Y/N, you’re hiding your love from him! This is a huge secret!”
Your head was beginning to ache slightly as an effect of the previous shaking, but you ignored it, staring right back at Jeonghan.
“Oh my god…” You muttered, looking past his shoulder as if all the realization in the world had suddenly dawned on you. “Oh my god.” You said louder this time.
“Right?” Jeonghan let go of your shoulders, plopping back down on his side of the couch, smirking at you from a distance.
“I need to tell Mingyu.”
“Need any confidence?” Jeonghan lifted a bottle of vodka from beside the side, smiling at you and shaking the bottle loosely in his left hand.
“Please.” You agreed.
~~~
You woke with a start, the loud ringtone of your phone pulling you out of your deep sleep. You were surprised to feel a prevalent aching coming from your head, and you were instantly regretful to have taken up Jeonghan on his offer of vodka. Why? Because you couldn’t exactly recall the events that had taken place afterwards. It was not nearly as bad as a full-fledged hangover however, but you were still disappointed (a little impressed too, in all honesty) that you and Jeonghan had abandoned your usual “middle-aged soccer mom” drinking routine, and instead had opted for more of an “early-twenties frat boy” route instead.
You took in your surroundings as your finger slid across the screen to answer the call. You were laid down on the couch, a throw blanket covering your body and a pillow beneath your head. It was Jeonghan’s living room, and you guessed he was sleeping comfortably in his own bed.
“Mmmngh… Hello?” You stretched as you spoke, your morning voice presenting itself in a raspy tone as your arm lifted above your head to stretch.
“Oh my god, Y/N.” You could hear Mingyu’s voice on the other end of the line, a sigh following shortly after as if he had been holding his breath. “I have been calling for the past twenty minutes!”
Your eyes widened as you pulled the phone back from your ear to stare at it as if you couldn’t believe you had slept through all of his calls for twenty minutes.
“Are you serious?” You asked, still in a groggy state of mind as you put the phone back to your ear.
“Did you just wake up?” Mingyu asked suddenly, changing the subject abruptly in order to call attention to why your voice sounded so tired and sleepy.
“Yeah, what’s up?”
“Well other than me freaking out all morning because of you and almost calling the police, nothing much.” You could hear the frustration and sarcasm practically dripping from Mingyu’s words, making you sit up in confusion.
“What- why would you call the police? I’m perfectly fine.”
“That’s not what your texts said…” he responded, making you even more confused as your mind began to register his words.
“…What..?”
“The texts you sent me last night?”
Your eyes widened as you snatched the phone away from your ear once again, leaving Mingyu on the call as you clicked your home button and scrambled to your text messages. And there he was. His name at the top of the message list, and you felt your heart drop to your stomach. You pressed Mingyu’s name hesitantly.
What are you talking about? Please pick up. What guy??
You closed your eyes after reading the messages, in complete and utter shock at what you had sent Mingyu. No way. The phone met your ear once again and you were met with the almost unnoticeable sound of Mingyu’s breathing. Had you really freaked him out?
“Mingyu, I am so sorry. I was drinking with Jeonghan last night.”
You could hear Mingyu release a breath, and he let out a low chuckle.
“Thank god. So none of those messages were actually serious! I don’t know what I would’ve done if something happened to you. And that guy was just..?”
“Jeonghan, yeah,” you chuckled alongside Mingyu, scratching the back of your head. You were supposed to be comfortable with your best friend, but knowing you sent those text messages to him had you questioning everything he was saying. You couldn’t help the small tug at your heart and the smile that formed on your lips when he expressed his care for you. “The guy was just Jeonghan.”
“I’m sorry for freaking out, Y/N.. I feel stupid now. God, I even drove to your house to check if you were okay. That explains why you weren’t home.” Mingyu laughed, and your cheeks flushed at his words once again.
“No, no.. I love that you care, thank you.”
“Okay, well I guess I should go now, I have to get ready soon.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as your eyes darted to the calendar that Jeonghan kept on the wall beside the front door. Tuesday the 16th… There was nothing written there- no photo shoots or interviews or even practices.
“Oh?” You asked, growing confused once again, but now for a different reason. “I thought you guys were free today?”
“We are! I’m getting ready for a date later.”
Your heart dropped and your eyes stared blankly at the wall in front of you.
“A date?” Your lips formed the words on their own as if they controlled themselves. “With a girl?”
“No, with my boss,” Mingyu laughed, the sarcasm once again coating his words, giving you every clue you needed. “Yes, with a girl.”
Your throat was dry and you tried to swallow, but everything was happening at once. He had a date. Perhaps Jeonghan was right- you should’ve made your move sooner. Was it too late now? Of course it was.
You cleared your throat before snapping out of your thoughts and steering your head back to the conversation.
“Uh, good! That’s great, I’m really happy for you, Gyu!”
“Thank you, Y/N. I should probably go, but we’ll talk later?”
“Yeah! Yeah, of course.”
“I love you, Y/N.”
“Love you too, Mingyu.”
“Bye.”
“Have fun! Bye.” You croaked out the last sentence, your eyes beginning to water. You held the phone to your ear, not bothering to hang up, still staring at the wall until you heard the beep of the line being disconnected. That was when you shook yourself off and wiped away the tears threatening to spill out, pulling the blanket off you to set your phone on the coffee table.
“You okay?”
You looked up to see a Jeonghan leaning against the wall with his arms folded and a concerned look on his face.
“Yeah!” You smiled, trying to convince even yourself that you didn’t care. “He can date whoever he wants.”
“Y/N…” Jeonghan whispered, watching as you played with the frayed edges of the the blanket. You looked up at Jeonghan once again, and he now had his arms wide open. “Come here.”
Immediately you leapt off the couch, finding home in Jeonghan’s arms and letting him console you. He stroked your hair and let you cry into his shirt, whispering sweet words into your ear.
“I was too late. You were right.”
Jeonghan sighed, hugging you tighter. “It’s okay, Y/N. It will always be okay.”
It’s Just a Crush // Vernon
High school!Vernon au Fluff Imagine // 2333 Words
Tumblr media
——
How long you had been sitting there, secretly checking your phone and texting your best friend, while trying to make it believable that you were paying attention to the complicated calculus symbols and equations written on the board, was something you didn’t know. You might have guessed thirty minutes or so, but you hadn’t been checking the time enough to know for sure. Your best friend, Y/B/F/N, was currently sitting two buildings over in their literature class doing the exact same thing as you; trying not to caught while you focused on more “important” matters than solving for the function of 3, or what Shakespeare’s words really meant.
From: Y/B/F/N
Okay, seriously Y/N, you need to talk to him.
From: Y/B/F/N
iTS SUCH A PERFECT OPPORTUNITY! HES RIGHT THERE!!
Looking up as you held the phone underneath your desk, you let your eyes fall on him. He, too, wasn’t paying much attention to the board (well nobody really was paying attention), choosing to fling pieces of his eraser at the unlucky victim- who today seemed to be a very annoyed Minghao. A small eraser piece fell into the collar of Minghao’s shirt, causing him to turn around quickly, facing Vernon and reaching up into his shirt to try and find the eraser piece while shooting daggers at Vernon, who was visibly trying to stifle his laugh, covering his mouth by the crook of his elbow and trying to stay as quiet as possible. You couldn’t help but smile slightly at the situation, turning your attention back to your phone as you typed your response quickly before once again shoving it underneath your leg in a quick attempt to conceal it from your teacher, Mr. Thompson’s, eyes.
To: Y/B/F/N
What if he completely ignores me..? Or doesn’t even know who I am? What if I like trip and mess up in front of him? So many things could go wrong, I can’t talk to him.
You could still hear Minghao fidgeting around to try and find the eraser, and you could just barely hear Vernon’s small giggles. His group sat surrounding him, all very uninterested. I mean, really though; how exciting could calculus get? Vernon’s entire group wasn’t in this class. Hell, that would almost be half of a class itself, and all those boys in one classroom together would be insane. No- five of his group members were, in fact, a grade older in 12th grade, and you had no clue what classes they were in. You didn’t exactly have many older friends, you mainly just stuck to Y/B/F/N and tried to ignore the stupidity and idiocy that went on around you both. Y/B/F/N however, had two of Vernon’s friends in their class, Dokyeom and Seungkwan, and all Y/B/F/N had been complaining about this period- all year, to be completely honest, was the fact that the pair of boys were so incredibly loud and quite possibly the most distracting pair ever. Not to mention, the teacher had even been dumb enough to seat them directly beside each other.
In your class, thankfully, the small group of boys that belonged to that particular friend group- they called themselves seventeen (no one really understood why; there were only thirteen of them)- consisted of four generally quiet, sometimes mischievous but for the most part respectful boys: Wonwoo, Woozi, Vernon, and Minghao. You had no idea where the rest of his group was during this particular period. Some were in a few of your later classes, but as for now, you had not a clue.
Vernon and his group sat opposite the room from you, tucked away in the small back corner where they were less noticeable by the teacher.
Your phone buzzed underneath your thigh, and you fished it out once again to check the message you had received from Y/B/F/N.
From: Y/B/F/N
Literally nothing could go wrong, Y/N. You’ve been crushing on him for so long, take your opportunity!
Your eyes shifted once again to Vernon, focusing on the way his eyes crinkled as he smiled and laughed, and the way his cheeks were slightly tinted red from trying to hold in as much laughter as he could. It had been what? Five months now since you first developed a crush on Vernon? And you still had yet to talk to him. It wasn’t like you were deliberately not speaking to him, you were just scared. You had never really been good at talking to boys- you were a shy person. You hadn’t noticed how you had zoned out on his face, staring at him while your thoughts took over, however as soon as he glanced in your general direction, and your brain registered that you had been staring like a creep, your head shot back to face your desk, hair falling around your face and thankfully shielding anyone from seeing your red cheeks that were gradually growing hotter and hotter by the second.
To: Y/B/F/N
Omg I think Vernon totally just caught me staring at him!!!
Your teacher pulled away from the blackboard, announcing that he was going to try and find some new chalk as his was almost completely gone, leaving Y/E/N (your enemy’s name/ anyone that you dislike/ insert a bitchy name here lmao) in charge of the class while he was momentarily gone. You didn’t pay much attention to his words, focused on texting Y/B/F/N, and you certainly didn’t notice the way that as soon as Mr. Thompson has left, there was a new presence behind you that wasn’t there before.
Now, Y/E/N was definitely someone that got on your nerves constantly. Whether it was the fact that she always seemed to be flirting with someone from Vernon’s friend group, including Vernon himself a couple of times, or that she was head cheerleader and school captain, you hated the way she constantly demanded attention and felt entitled to so much. You especially hated the way she always felt the need to be in everyone’s business, including yours.
To: Y/B/F/N
God, why am I like this? I like him so much.
“Texting in class?” You heard a loud voice behind you, not only making you jump, but the rest of the class too, who had been sitting in boredom. Your head shot back, and there she stood in all her glory- Y/E/N. “Sir left me in charge, and I-“ she reached over and plucked your phone right out of your hands, “don’t think this is allowed at the moment.”
You shot up from your seat, immediately trying to grab for your phone, but she moved away quickly, avoiding your grabby hands and focusing her attention on the phone. You could see the way her glossed, pink lips twitched into a satisfied smirk as her eyes skimmed the conversation.
“Y/B/F/N? Y/B/F/Fullname? That’s who you’re texting?” She asked, eyes darting up to meet yours, and you could practically see the fire in her eyes. God, she was so happy from this. By now, the whole class was watching the scene unfold. Was watching you try and battle Y/E/N for your phone, as she began to read the conversation out loud.
“Give it back, Y/E/N!”
“You’ve been crushing on him for so long, take your opportunity!” Y/E/N read out loud as she moved further away. You didn’t know why this girl was one of the most popular people in the school- doing shit like this was supposed to drive people away, not make them like you. Y/E/N had been doing stuff like this to people ever since you could remember, and you had no idea why.
“Oh my god, I think Vernon totally just caught me staring at him... I like him so much!” As the words finally spilled out of her mouth, she started laughing, looking up at you and tossing your phone back onto your desk. The entire class began to let out small giggles, to which Y/E/N encouraged. You felt absolutely mortified as you sank down in your seat, sparing a glance at Vernon. His face was red and he looked completely uncomfortable as both Minghao and Wonwoo were slightly nudging his elbows and winking at him. Your eyes found your desk once again, and your hair created a curtain around you like before, thankfully shielding everyone from seeing the hot, angry tears that threatened to spill from your eyes. You refused to cry in class. You could cry about this later when you were with Y/B/F/N, but now you could not cry.
Your teacher entered the class, making the laughter subside and die down before returning to the class with his new chalk. You, like before, could not focus. But this time, instead of your phone distracting you, it was the itching feeling of discomfort of literally everyone knowing what you weren’t planning on making public for a while.
When the bell rang, you thanked every god for ending the class, grabbing your bag and bolting from your class. You had no doubt that this would spread quickly, your suspicions being confirmed by the smirks people gave you as you walked down the hallways, and the laughter that arised as you entered your next classes.
By the time the day was over, you were completely ready to go home and cry out all of your feelings while eating ice cream and watching movies with Y/B/F/N. You met with them by your locker, sighing as you shoved your books in and grabbed what you needed before zipping your backpack and finally turning to face Y/B/F/N.
“This will die down eventually, Y/N,” Y/B/F/N said, shutting your locker as you both began to walk out of school together. “It’s just a crush, people forget.”
“I hope.” You sighed, slinging your bag over your shoulder and crossing your arms over your chest. The two of you had almost made it to the gate before you heard a voice calling out to you.
“Y/N! Y/N, wait up!”
As you turned around, you could see a boy running towards you, and as he got closer, you could make out that it was Vernon. Oh boy, just the person you wanted to see.
He slowed down as he reached you, and when he was a couple of feet away, he slowed to a walking pace. “I’m so sorry about today,” he breathed, holding his hand in his other awkwardly as if he wasn’t quite sure what to say.
“Why are you apologizing? You did nothing wrong...” You spoke in a low voice, obviously nervous and still embarrassed from the previous events that had occurred. Y/B/F/N stood off to the side, letting you speak to Vernon but listening intently to the conversation.
“Yeah, but what Y/E/N did to you was not okay... I’m really sorry about that, I don’t know why she always does stuff like that to people.” His eyes were honest and sincere, and although he was slightly blushing from speaking to you- because he now knew that you liked him- he was happy he took this chance to speak to you.
“Thanks...” You muttered awkwardly, not exactly knowing what to say or what to do. This was such an unexpected situation, and you were completely unprepared. “I’m sorry that you had to be dragged into all of this.”
Vernon chuckled, using his hand in a sweeping motion to signify that it was no worry, “Don’t be sorry, I’m actually so flattered!”
Your heart dropped as those words left his mouth, and your eyes met his in a state of shock and surprise. “Really?” You stuttered slightly.
Vernon nodded his head, grinning wonderfully and gracing you with smiling eyes. He just seemed so kind. “Of course! You seem pretty cool, I’d love to get to know you better as the year progresses!”
It was a small sentence, a simple sentence, but it was so kind. It made you appreciate Vernon so much in your still shocked state from the turn of events. You were convinced that you would have gone home in a sour mood, but now you were sure that you were going home and throwing a fucking party. A huge ‘Fuck You, Y/E/N’ Party.
You blushed and looked at the ground, feeling a huge smile begin to take over your face. He called you cool. Chwe Vernon called you, Y/N cool. Oh how the gods have spoken.
Vernon reached over, grabbing right below your elbow, your upper forearm, and squeezing slightly. This action alone caused you to meet his kind, warm eyes as he continued to look back at you. His hand let go of your arm, falling to his side as he straightened. He still wore a bright smile on his face as he said, “I’ll definitely be sure to say hi to you in the hallway now, Y/N.”
The only thing that your mind could think to do in that moment was let out a small giggle- a giggle- and a quiet “cool” as he took a step back. He gave one last wink before turning away, yelling a quick “See you around, Y/N!” over his shoulder as he jogged his way back to his group, leaving you standing there in absolute and utter shock.
“Well, you finally talked to him,” Y/B/F/N giggled, taking in your surprised and disoriented figure before tugging your arm and pulling you along, away from the school.
And the next day, when you made your way to your locker in the morning, you heard a loud “Good morning, Y/N!” Sure enough, when you looked over, it was Chwe Vernon waving enthusiastically at you from his group, some of whom, turned also and gave you a small smile.
But the icing on top of cake, the absolute best part of that morning (although your crush saying good morning was a close second) was the look of confusion and surprise that completely washed over Y/E/N’s face as she witnessed everything unfold.
“What the fuck..?” You could hear her mutter as you passed, feeling triumphant and confident that you had won.
Hot Chocolates and Warm Hugs // S.Coups
S.Coups Christmas Fluff Imagine // 1484 Words
Tumblr media
—-
The park was brightly lit with an array of colorful Christmas lights adorning the trees and light poles. There was a soft snow falling from the sky, and there you sat- waiting for him and sitting on a park bench while you watched small children walk with their families, and couples make their way leisurely through the park. You checked your watch for what felt like the millionth time that night, the numbers only disappointing you the more and more you checked. 8:26 pm.
You had both agreed to meet at 7:45, and honestly you were more shocked with yourself for sitting here for so long than the fact that he hadn’t shown up at all. You were bundled in your warm scarf and thick, winter coat, and even that couldn’t prevent the cold from seeping in. Five more minutes, you thought to yourself, sighing and burying your hands in your pockets as you watched a small cloud of fog escape your lips. There was nothing worse- absolutely nothing worse- than sitting alone on Christmas Eve in a park in the cold. You cursed yourself for chancing a date with this boy when you easily could have enjoyed the evening with your friends who were now probably eating dinner and laughing and exchanging gifts and God, you were so jealous right now.
You could feel your phone buzz against your hand, deep in your coat pocket, and you pulled it out, hissing as the cold evening air met your hand instantly. You had hoped that it would be a message from him- perhaps an apology or an explanation as to why he was running 45 minutes late to the date, however disappointment once again clouded your thoughts as the message was not sent from him at all- instead, your friend who was spending his Christmas Eve with the rest of your friend group, enjoying himself. The light of your phone illuminated your face as you read the message that you had received.
From: Seungcheol
How’s the date going?? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
You hastily typed a response, pressing send, and shoving your hands back into your pockets.
To: Seungcheol
Not sure you can call it a date if they never show up.
The time now read 8:28 pm, and you could swear time was moving slower than it ever had. It was like it was trying to kill you. You focused your attention on your boots, which kicked against the slush that sat underneath the bench. Another couple passed, and another sigh left your mouth. Three minutes. Give him three minutes.
You felt your phone buzz once again, and you sighed, ignoring it until you felt another buzz. And another. And another.
Was it even worth waiting for him anymore? You had been waiting for so long, and the hope that anyone was going to show up was now the complete opposite of hope- it was now doubt and regret for even planning anything in the first place. How wonderful, it seemed you had just wasted your Christmas Eve waiting for something that wasn’t ever going to happen. The regret and guilt for neglecting your friends this year to spend the night with a man who you’d only met a few times was only adding to the remorse you felt, and your thoughts were suddenly so overwhelming that you didn’t notice the tears running down your face. It was when your phone let out it’s familiar Christmas ringtone melody that you were shaken out of your thoughts and quickly scrambled to wipe away your tears and answer the phone.
“Hello?” You spoke, trying to make it sound like you weren’t just in tears and were completely okay.
“Where are you?” Seungcheol spoke, the slamming of a door heard in the background. You could hear a low rumbling noise, indicating that he had just started a car, and your eyes widened in panic. You were not about to let Seungcheol ruin his night in favor of you.
“You don’t need to pick me up, Seuncheol.” Your voice was firm this time, trying to signify to him that you were completely okay and didn’t need any sort of help.
“Just tell me where you are, Y/N,” he spoke again, letting out a sigh and waiting for your response. You, however, were stubborn.
“Coups, go back home. I’m telling you, I’m fi-“
“Well, I’m telling you that it’s cold, you just got stood up, and I care about you too much to let you spend Christmas Eve alone and unhappy.” His voice shook you a bit- it was commanding and firm, and honestly shocked you a bit at the strong tone he used. There was a lingering silence after his words, and you weren’t completely sure how to respond to him, until he spoke up once again, taking a much softer tone this time. “Now please, tell me where you are.”
“Uh- Central Park. I’m at Central Park.” Your words faltered a bit as you spoke, and you could feel your eyes burning once again as you registered exactly what Seungcheol was doing for you.
“Go to the cafe a street over- I’ll be there in ten minutes. I don’t want you to sit in the cold anymore.” With those words, he hung up. It took you a few seconds before your feet began moving, taking you to the cafe he had instructed you to go to, finding comfort in the warm interior once you got there and sitting at a small table. There were a few friends and couples sitting here and there throughout the cafe, drinking warm beverages and eating desserts and sweet Christmas treats.
Sure enough after ten minutes or so, like he had promised, you could see Seungcheol step out of the car that he parked on the street, through the window. He stepped into the cafe, spotting you immediately as you were the only one in the building sitting on your own. The tears that you had been holding in for the past twenty minutes finally spilled as he reached you and pulled you into a tight, warm hug. His chin rested on top of your head while one had softly stroked your hair and the other wrapped around your waist. You burrowed your head into his chest and let out the tears.
“This Christmas is ruined, Coups. I ditched you guys for a guy who didn’t even turn up to our date, and now Christmas Eve is almost over.”
He shushed you, pulling away from the hug to hold you close to him and wipe away your tears. “Don’t say that, Y/N, Christmas Eve isn’t over yet.”
Your eyes met his and you smiled softly as his thumbs gently caressed your cheeks and his hands held your face.
“Now, what do you say we buy a hot chocolate, sit down for a bit, and then go back to the party and spend it with people who actually care about you? Unlike the asshole that completely blew you off.” His eyes narrowed for a split second at the mention of your date, but he ended with a smile, letting go of your face to hold your hands, making small circles on your skin with his thumbs.
“That sounds wonderful,” you answered, about to pull out your wallet to pay for a hot chocolate when Seungcheol grabbed your wrist, stopping your action completely.
“I’ll pay; think of it as a gift.” He winked, and planted a small kiss on your forehead before moving to the cafe counter and ordering two hot chocolates. You were left, bewildered and blushing at the thought of his lips on your skin. How did you get so lucky to meet someone like Seungcheol? He cared about you so much, and had so much love for you. For the first time in your friendship with Seungcheol, you felt something more than friendship towards him. You weren’t sure if he returned the feelings, but tonight it didn’t matter. You were so incredibly grateful that he was here at all- taking time out of his night to make sure you were okay and happy.
And as you saw him grab the two drinks from the counter, you couldn’t help but let a small smile adorn your features, completely forgetting about the horrible start to the night you had had, and the tears you had been crying a few minutes ago. You sank into the chair, and he took a seat on the opposite side of the table, sliding the drink to you. His fingers brushed against yours as you grabbed the cup, and warmth sparked inside you.
“Merry Christmas, Y/N.” He smiled, his warm eyes meeting yours and making all sorts of butterflies erupt in your stomach.
“Merry Christmas, Seungcheol.”
“I’m glad you’re spending this eve with me instead of that guy; what was his name again?”
“It doesn’t matter anymore.”
Gloomy Night// Jeonghan
Jeonghan Fluff Imagine // 1,667 words
Tumblr media
The bathtub was nestled between three walls in the far side of the bathroom. It fit perfectly in the narrow, slightly run down structure of the bathroom. There was a small window directly above the bathtub that you always opened on nights like this, to stare out of the window and in the night sky as you sat in the bath. No one could possibly see you when you had your window open- your apartment was far too high in the building. You could see the entire city but no one could see you, which you figured was a rather good resolution.
On nights like this- where you sat horizontally in the bathtub, knees pulled to your chest to accommodate for the lack of space between the sides of bathtub, to stare into the night sky which you wouldn’t be able to so conveniently look out of had you sat properly in the tub- you usually sat with a plastic cup of cheap wine.
The wine glasses were too expensive, and you didn’t have the money to spend on proper, ‘fancy’ glasses to drink your alcohol out of, so you opted for plastic cups. There wasn’t much of a difference- the wine tasted like shit either way.
You had found two half-used candles sitting on the coffee table in the living room and decided they’d be good enough to help set the mood for one of your ‘gloomy nights’, as you liked to call them.
Normally you would find some sort of flower petal to sprinkle sporadically around the tub, but the only flowers you had at the moment were the ones Jeonghan had brought home for you two days ago, and you didn’t want to put them to waste to quickly. So instead, you just grabbed the vase of light pink roses, and set them down on the corner of the tub to at least help the situation feel more aesthetically pleasing.
And there you sat- facing the small window that showed you the stars, sipping slowly on your cup of wine, naked, slightly cold, and trying to give yourself an excuse as of why you should be happy right now, but nothing was working.
Usually this was the trick- spend an hour in the bathtub, commencing your ‘gloomy night’ ritual, and you’d bounce right back to how you normally were, but it seemed you’d been sitting here for well over an hour, and nothing had changed.
You were still sad and felt like you were disappointing everyone. You sighed, convincing yourself at last that tonight just wasn’t your night, and trying to accept the fact that the infallible bathtub routine had, for the first time ever, failed you. You gripped the side of the tub behind you, about to climb out of the tub, when you heard the front door of your apartment shut lightly. It must’ve been around 10:00 at night at this point, and Jeonghan had finally arrived home. You heard the sound of his backpack being lazily thrown down beside the door, and the familiar clink of his keys as he set them down on the coffee table, calling out your name.
“Y/N?” You could hear his voice down the hall, growing closer as he approached further and further. You slid back down into tub, in your previous position, gripped your wine cup, and looked back out the window. “Y/N, where are the can- oh. You’re using them in here, I was wondering where he candles from the living room went.”
He was suddenly in the doorway, his hair slightly tousled and his tired eyes meeting yours as you turned back to look at him. His face dropped slowly as your features met him, and he stepped into the small bathroom, crouching down behind you, and rubbing your back soothingly.
“It’s one of those days, huh?” Jeonghan immediately noted the setup of the bathroom having been witness to many ‘gloomy nights’ before. He gave you a weak smile, kissing your cheek and waiting for your answer. Not that he really expected one anyways- he could tell that you were upset, and when you were upset, you grew quiet. You turned back to the window, leaning into him slightly as he stared out the window with you, still crouching behind you. His figure, fully clothed and warm completely contrasted yours, which was naked and cold.
“What are you thinking, huh, love?” He asked once again, moving his hand to your right shoulder and squeezing lightly. Once again, you didn’t give Jeonghan an answer, only shifting slightly closer to his touch. His hand left you suddenly, causing you to let out a small sigh and take another small sip of your wine. You winced, this shit tasted horrible.
The sound of clothes being thrown onto the floor made you turn back, and your eyes were suddenly greeted by a naked Jeonghan who climbed into the tub and sat beside you. His knees were pressed to his chest, almost uncomfortably, as he was a fair bit taller than you, and didn’t have as easy of a time trying to force his body into such a small space.
And there the two of you sat, just staring out of the window, looking at the stars. It seemed like a while before Jeonghan turned to you.
“Have they said anything?” He whispered in your ear, shifting closer to you so that the entire sides of both of your bodies were touching. Comfortable. “The stars, have they spoken to you yet?”
You shook your head, sinking lower slightly as you just sat.
“You wanna talk about it?” Jeonghan pushed a stray, wet piece of hair our of your face, letting his fingers delicately trace your features. You were quiet again, staring at the water now, debating whether or not to say anything. “That’s okay, jagiya. You can tell me lat-“
“I got fired today.” You croaked out finally, cutting Jeonghan off midsentence. His fingers stopped tracing your face for a second, freezing in their movements before continuing like nothing had happened.
“You got fired?” His voice was low, and the air was slightly tense between the two of you, but he wasn’t mad. You knew Jeonghan well, and the way he was speaking to you was calm, but not the type of calm that came before the storm. You just nodded, not knowing where to look, ashamed and disappointed in yourself.
Jeonghan let out a deep exhale, chuckling slightly after. “Thank god. I was beginning to think you were perfect, Y/N!”
You nudged Jeonghan, who giggled slightly before grabbing the wine cup that was held loosely in your right hand. He smelled the wine, crinkling his nose afterwards.
“It’s okay, Jagi. It makes me relieved to know I’m not the only disappointment.” He smiled at you before taking a sip of the wine he had previously cringed at. “What the fuck kind of wine did you buy?” He muttered, glancing at the cup in disgust before setting it on the floor behind the tub, out of reach of both of you. Probably for the best too, it was really shitty wine.
“What do you mean ‘not the only disappointment’, Jeonghan?” You asked, turning to face him at this point. His words had peaked your interest, and while you were glad to know that he wasn’t too upset, you were suspicious as to why.
“You know that literary analysis paper I worked really hard on?” Jeonghan met your eyes, and you really saw the exhaustion that he had been through due to that paper and the stress of his results. It hadn’t even occurred to you. “I got a C- on it. Found out today, that’s why I came home so late. God, I must have read it a thousand times over trying to find what was so wrong with it. And when I asked my professor, he gave me the most useless advice I’ve ever heard. ‘Better luck next time.’”
Your hand found Jeonghan’s hand, and you brought it up to your lips, planting a soft kiss there. He smiled at the action, wrapping his arm around you and looking back out of the window. The stars were bright, and the water you two were sitting in was cold.
“Don’t be upset, Jagi. It’s okay.” He whispered, taking a deep breath and letting it out before looking back at you. Your eyes hadn’t left his face, and at this point, you could finally feel the hot tears pooling in your eyes.
“Hannie, we both have student loans, we live in a shitty, run-down apartment, and we can’t even afford a real fucking wine glass, let alone good wine. How are we going to manage if only one of us has a job?”
“Talk to the stars, Y/N. It always helps. The universe has an answer for us. It always does. Maybe we won’t get the answer we want today or tomorrow, but we will get it one day. You will find a job, I promise. Please don’t be too harsh on yourself about this.” Jeonghan took your face in his hands, kissing your nose once, your forehead, both of your cheeks, and finally meeting your lips with his own. The kiss was deep and intimate, and lifted the heavy weight from your chest until finally you felt okay. He wiped the small tears on your face away with his thumbs, and shifted to move underneath you, so you were sitting between his legs. The positions should have been slightly awkward- hell, you two were naked and cold, but honestly, you had never been more comfortable.
“I love you, Y/N.” You heard Jeonghan whisper in your ear before letting his chin rest on your shoulder and wrapping his arms loosely around your waist.
“I love you, Hannie.” You whispered back, leaning into his touch once again. Maybe the window, the ‘gloomy nights’ weren’t your savior. Maybe it was Jeonghan.
“Are those the flowers I gave you two days ago?”
Cities are really nice :) -H
Bringing ‘Sexy’ Back// Mingyu
Mingyu Fluff Imagine // 714 Words
Tumblr media
               “I’m bringing sexy back!” You hear him shout as he opens the door to the bathroom, letting the steam seep into the room from the hot shower he just took. The alarm clock on your bedside table read 8:09 am, and you let out a low groan, shielding your eyes from the sunlight shining through the small space in the curtains in the room. Thank god there was only a small space letting light in- You weren’t completely sure if you could handle more than that. You were tired and still half-asleep, and you had no clue how the hell this boy had managed to get up at such an early time on a Sunday morning, and still manage to have enough energy to dance around your room shouting the lyrics to Justin Timberlake’s ‘Sexy Back’.  He pointed at you as he made his way across the bedroom, towel wrapped around his waist, mouthing the lyrics and slowly winking at you.
               “Them other boys don’t know how to act!” His voice grew louder, and you buried your head underneath your pillow, trying to block out the sound so you could fall back asleep. Mingyu was normally a pretty great singer, but today he was deliberately singing badly- whether it was to try and be funny, or whether it was to push your buttons, you didn’t know.
               “Mingyu!” You groaned, pulling the pillow tighter around your ears as he hummed and sang this very exaggerated rendition of the song. Honestly speaking, it was pretty funny to hear him singing at such an out of tune tone, and you couldn’t lie when you said that you let a few giggles out, but just a few moments ago you had been sleeping, and if it weren’t for this boy, you still would be.
               “I think it’s special, what’s behind your back!” His voice was closer this time, and you lifted the pillow from your face slightly to peek out from underneath. He now had a shirt on and a pair of boxers, roughly drying his hair with the towel while, in fact, walking closer and closer to you. You thought for sure he was going to bend down and give you a kiss, say good morning, but no. He walked straight past you after sending you his signature smile, standing right beside your bedside, and leaving you very confused. It wasn’t until his hand gripped the curtain, looking back down at you before you realized what he was doing. You sat up quickly, eyes widening. “Come on, Jagi!” He cheered, “Finish the line!”
               “Mingyu, no!” You glared at him with fierce eyes, daring him to do what he was about to do. His smile only widened as he pulled the curtains back, lighting up the entire room and making you fall back onto your pillow with the loudest groan you could muster. You could hear his laughter as he watched your reaction to the shock of light, and all you could do was cover your eyes with your hands and let out a measly, “So turn around and I’ll pick up the slack.”
               “Yeah!” He cheered, letting out a few giggles and sitting on the edge of the bed right next to you. He lifted your hands away from your face, planting a few kisses on your cheeks and sprinkling them all over your face. “Good morning, Y/N.”
               You just let out a small grunt, glaring up at him while trying to snuggle deeper down into the comfort of your sheets. “Morning.”
               He kissed your forehead one last time before standing up and tearing the sheets away from your body, causing you to once again sit up and glare at him. “Come downstairs, I’m making breakfast.”
               He walked out of the room, shouting his lyrics to ‘sexy back’, and all you could do was watch, the glare disappearing very quickly, being replaced with small giggles as your boyfriend danced his way through the halls. You were cold now, yes. You were still tired, yes. But was it worth it to see your bright, bubbly, amazing boyfriend in such a happy and carefree state? Always.
               I love you, you sighed as you stood and followed the smell of pancakes and eggs cooking in the comfortable Sunday morning air.
Comfort// Minghao (The8)
Fluff// 230 words
~~~
     Just sitting on the couch, lazily spread out with a sleepy Minghao resting on top of you as you both watched the movie had grown to become one of your favorite activities. Simple, warm, comfortable- it was perfect. He would lay comfortably between your two legs as his arms wrapped around your waist in a hug, with his head laying on your stomach. You would play with his hair subconsciously, watching the movie and lazily threading your fingers through his locks. This gave Minghao a sense of comfort, and the sleepiness that had overcome him for the evening would push him into the state of sleep that he always seemed to find when you two were in this position. As his breathing grew more steady and relaxed, you would check his face only to see that his eyes were closed, and his face was peaceful and at rest. You let yourself scan over his features, and soon the movie becomes a distant background noise as you lightly touch his nose, his lips and continue softly playing with his hair. A small smile finds your face, and you shift your position slightly to get more comfortable, only to have Minghao let out a soft groan and hug you tighter underneath him. You kiss the top of his head and rest your chin there, closing your eyes and drifting off slowly, too.

Hello~~
So, I’ve decided to create a blog about SVT and I think I’m just going to post writing, imagines, stuff like that :)) I felt kinda awkward just posting a writing straight up so I thought I would introduce myself!! I’m just gonna call myself H on here LOL, so hey!! It’s H :)) i hope you like this blog? Idk i’m not good w/ people. My fav color is blue, but not like just any blue, I really like that light, pastel, baby blue kinda blue.. yeahhh it’s really nice. I am a huge fan of pizza, I love to travel, and I am currently in high school (which is killing me tbh) I cannot wait for college. I love to film and edit, (I wanna be a director or editor for movies and films in the future, my dad wants me to be a physicist or doctor or something lol) and I love photography. I play the guitar, and would absolutely love to learn piano. Reading is a huge part of my life, I am in love with books (omg the smell of brand new books literally gives me orgasms i cant omg i need to stop). I have just recently slipped into the diamond life ( ahaaa ;) Im so cringey whyyyy) and I have fallen in love with Seventeen!! I am also multifandom asf and struggle with that on a daily basis (ARMY, Exo-L’s, Inner Circles, Blinks, Ahgases, you know what’s up). Honestly, in the beginning, Seventeen scared the living shit out of me like what omg thirteen members no thanks. But it’s so hard not to love them, like it takes one fucking song, or one video or eVEN AN IMAGE TBH, and you’re just done for like might as well give up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. But it’s been good so far! My bias is Minghao, I just can’t look away from him, he’s so precious and funny and I love him a lot. Of course, all of the boys have stolen my hearts, I love them all so so so much, and I hope other carats out there accept me into the fandom!! So, this was me :) welcome to my blog!! Now, let’s just hope I can consistently post <33
